Emcee Moniker the gorillaz were ahead of their time in terms of interactive features to further intertwine their world and ours. I felt like I was kicking it with murdoc in his winebego .
Shout out to you for being one of the 170 plus comments on here who actually knows about these guys and took the time to listen to this. Haven't even started watching yet but it suprises me how there is still a variety of people who remember them and actually like their music. These Gorillaz made up part of my teen years in the early 2000's. " Left hand method suzuki ( with the heavy drum kicks and bass ) " and " Que pasa contigo ( with the American, spanish speaking influence and beat ) " are two of my favorites songs off the first album. Can forget Rock the House with Del the Funky. Salaam A Leikum !
Greenkidd stfuuuuuu you dumbass kids!!! The Gorillaz were always on hip hop radio and media because of there heavy use of hip hop and this album has Vince Staples, Pusher T, De La Soul and other hip hop artists. Gtfoh!!
Did anyone else notice when each one of them spoke the other two look and listen. I never see that when groups come in. Hardly ever were their attention elsewhere
Even a cold Hip Hop head understands the magnitude of what these guys accomplished. This is simply incredible! I'm so proud to be one of the babies from this generation.
One of my first cds I ever owned was the gorillaz album given to me by my baby sitter during the summer of 2001. Still one of my all time fave bands ever.
My childhood band still going strong... tbh if I ever see them live i might cry. especially if they play some tracks from demon dayz... but I highly doubt that... 26 songs.. LAWWWWD
The Gorillaz are definitely phenomenal but this interview only happened because Pusha T is on the new album.....the Gorillaz should've been up there from there first album
André 3000 was on a song called Do Ya Thing, which was a collaboration between Gorillaz, James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem), and André 3000 (of Outkast). It wasn't released on Plastic Beach, but rather on its own a couple of years later due to a promotion by Converse.
The only thing I don't like about Humanz is how difficult it is to hear the Gorillaz themselves. In the older songs, when we heard guitars, they sounded like Noodle; when we heard Bass, Murdoc; and Russel when we heard drums. Now, it just sort of sounds like 2-D and his celebrity friends pushing the other members aside.
@@mikasomething Damon Albarn writes the music and is the singing voice for 2D, Jamie Hewlett is the animator and theres other collaborators for the music and voice actors who provide voices for the cartoons.
These guys broke the wall in the hood..made me and I’m sure many more hip hop heads try to listen other genres ...plus the amount of goats in hip hop they have featured from mf doom to pusha t and so on
i remember seeing when they did the silouette tour thing, i think that was a very good move because it made the whole animation thing a secret of who was behind it all because internet still wasnt popular really i mean not enough to find research on them. i saw it on mtv playing. i mean i literally just find out this was the blur guy haha
The first song I learnt word for word (or at least what I thought was word for word) I was 6 in 2001 lol made up a ton of lyrics was Clint Eastwood Been a fan ever since Good one hot 97!!
Blur should’ve made it to America... I know their Britpop, but bands like Oasis made it to America, so why not Blur? There’s nothing wrong with bringing Britishness to America. Lots of Americans love being multicultural.

Marley Pitch is my favorite raper right now. I love introspective rapers. His lyrics are very vividly painted through storytelling and great word play over electronic beats that are out of this world. His main platform now is SoundCloud but he is already doing his part to push the culture forward in a fresh way like the gorilaz. We need to shine light on the kids that are introspective in their lyrics but still make enjoyable music like: saba, Mick Jenkins, vince, Earl sweatshirt, gold link etc.
It is nice to see Gorillaz video with comment section not spammed with kids hooked on that whole "universe" of Gorillaz. They make embarrassment of Gorillaz online
