GORUCK Radio Ruck 2021 Unboxing and first impressions!! 

Ramble on bro! This is a pretty sweet look. Goruck is easily one of my favorites companies nowadays. I brought out my bullet this week and it was definitely like catching up with an old friend!

It's like if Fjallraven Kanken and a tank had a baby... or maybe a GR1 Toddler 😃 I always appreciate a bag that can stand up on it's own.

my MSI GS65 15 inch laptop wont fit on the back .. I think max probably a 14 inch laptop. the additional width help laptop + sleeve in the main compartment perfectly good. there is no frame sheet ... so false bottom side near the bat wing kinda poke my waste from back a little when it's loaded shoulder strap is like the regular rucker shoulder strap, which is really good.

Thanks for these first impressions! I really like the looks on this one. Would actually think it would work better for me than the GR1, as a laptop EDC backpack. I'm just a little worried if my laptop will fit. It says it fits a 15 inch Macbook Pro: Height: 0.61 inch (1.55 cm) Width: 13.75 inches (34.93 cm) Depth: 9.48 inches (24.07 cm) Weight: 4.02 pounds (1.83 kg) But my work Lenovo is a little bigger: Weight 2.45 kg Height (rear) 2.94 cm Height (front) 2.45 cm Depth 252.3 mm Width 377.4 mm For those of you that got their hands on the 2021 model, what do you think? great video. I got a GR1 21L recently and have been really struggling with the size because I feel like it is so tight. I think it's just because of my 26L. I'm considering letting the 21 go and picking up the radio.

I know maybe it's not in the same category, but could you compare the size of this vs the 26L GR2 in the full review? Thanks!

So ever since they announced this I have been thinking. Would there be value in taking the concept of a deeper one-pocket bag into the 21 GR1 frame? The GR2 26L is very popular. Is it primarily because it gives you 26 liters of space in a GR1 21L frame or is it the additional section / pockets? I think there are many people that would like the additional capacity even in a single bucket and just use pouches, etc. to gain the organization. It should be a lot easier bag to build because it doesn't require the additional section and pockets, just a larger flap. The GR1 26L bag gets a lot of it's additional capacity from being deeper v. being taller so a deeper 21 L bag might come in at around 24 or so liters. Call it the Radio Ruck XL or something. Thoughts?

I wish ppl would stop comparing it to the GR1. It’s an Echo with more space. Not for me but to each their own!

I applaud Goruck for trying to make a radio ruck, but it really doesnt work as an actual military comms ruck. Tactial laptops are too fat for the laptop slot. There is plenty of space for a manpack radio inside, but not much room for accessories, power adapter and spare batteries. Probably fine for short missions or exercises, but definitely not something I magine for a multi day mission.

Filling in those pregnant pauses is ok with me! Be yourself!
