how tragic... a few hours earlier and the eaglet would have been dining on froglegs and mole... Now the eaglet is THE dinner over at the Goshawk's place.
@@boxingfan2469 If I may, these birds don't have any concept of time as far as I know. So two hours or two minutes makes no difference to them. Just saying !
They aren't "vicious", they are survivors! Nobody seems to be grieving for the frog or whatever that was the eagle brought back to feed the chick. Eagles will eat anything they can pick up, and some things they can't! Is that vicious? The difference with the owl is that the owl could have taken the chick at night with the parent in the nest!
@@sohrabrustum8582 Owls have SEVERAL advantages! However, calling them, or any other wild animal "vicious" is simply ridiculous, and shows ignorance! Everybody's trying to survive.. nothing personal!
@@carlwilliams6977 I was thinking poor frog, but then I remembered all the frog videos I watched especially the big bullfrogs and pixie frogs - it was a nightmare I couldn't sleep for days because it left me thinking that the bullfrog's mouth is a portal to another dimension. Thank God Bullfrogs aren't the size of a cow!
14:02 that baby eagle was calling its parents and alerted the hawk that it was alone 😞. The parents look fairly young, i wonder if they were new parents?
After close inspection, the eagle that came back first is the one who left baby eagle alone. You can tell it so shameful and guilty it would move and kept head down. And then the another one was like we done.
When the parents come back with prey and look like " ehm where is our baby" :( but goshawks i love of course its just amazing and cruel at the same time wildlife !
In UK Goshawks have gone from being very scarce to universal in suitable habitat. They are poweful enough to tackle each other and will not hesitate to take nestlings of any size or any species. That Eagle chick would have been no problem for a Gos.
Think they got the other eaglet too. This goes with the eagle nest where they captured several hawk chicks and fed them to the eaglets. Another nest with the same thing was around YT also.
It more than likely was dropped off the nest. That’s what gosh hawks doo. They fly i. Fast rip them off the nest then let them fall. The chick was calling from the ground and that did prompt the parent. If you listen, it’s calls stop shortly after the one parent goes. It likely found the chick on the forest floor and it calmed down/stopped calling. It’s odds of surviving on the floor are very slim to none but possible if they feed it still
@@macenhoward3376 Not true at all. Goshawks can easily carry twice their own weight. And if you paid attention to the timestamp they didnt come back til 2 hours after it got snatched, it was long dead.
That's not kidnapping, title is somewhat inappropriate BUT that is great footage though, raptor took the perfect line to make the silent grab, nature is gorgeously horrific.
talk about a few seconds too late for mama arriving at the nest !!! i think you can hear the screeching of the chick in the background when both parents are on the nest.....
I wonder if the parents ever figured out what happened or found the Goshawk dining on their chick? He couldn't have taken the chick too far away because of its weight in ratio to the Goshawk size.
