I got the 2023 version the two and it's amazing. I got lanshan 1 and while it's cheap, lightweight and great - it's just to small even for my 5'5" body. This tent is the best of everything. I got in during Memorial day sale for 30% off.

Loved the fair, balanced review. I think I'll go see what else you've reviewed!

Good review. We used to carry 40 ish pound packs as kids in scouts! I wouldnt want to go back to those day by any means, but it puts into perspective full grown hikers quibbling about an ounce or two. Many hikers, I've discovered squander most of their weight savings on extremely bad calorie : ounce ratio rations.

I just got my XMid 1p tent and spent one night set up in my yard! Lol! I had a tough time deciding on the 1p or 2p, but I’m 5.4 140lbs and it seems to be plenty of room for me. I think I will stay with this and be happy!! Thanks for another great video.😁👍

I've got the new version of The One. The regular/wide rectangular tensor fits perfectly. I'm 6'0" and fit fine. There is indeed touching of the footbox if I slide down a little too much, but it's very minimal. Agreed that the extra length would be appreciated.

Just used this tent two nights in central Oregon. I was car camping because I wanted to test this tent out before taking it into the backcountry this spring. 1st night was fine. Condensates, but not too bad. Second night was terrible. It rained on my face all night. Had a taught pitch, not close to water, directly under a tree, but it rained all night and was 38 degrees.

I wish they would've kept the dimensions the same to fit a wide pad! Being a 6'3" guy, I had to go with the Lunar Solo, which is great, but think the Durston Xmid 1 Pro will be my next tent.

That is the biggest down fall for people taller than 6’. I have plenty of other videos on my channel about the regular x-mid 1p and it’s a fantastic tent. The Pro version should be no different! I have another tent that is a DCF option coming in to review in the very near future… I may have to add the xmid pro to the collection as well!

@@Beardedbackpacker I am on the fence with The one and Lunar Solo, Im 180 cm and I just hate the thought of sleeping touching the walls or feeling like a sardine. I would love a comparison of the two!!! Cant find any on any channel and although I really wanted Gossamer, I think Ill go Lunar Solo for the extra space :(

I remember, like you said, when the one was hard to come by. Had some people make offers on mine. I’ve owned the old version of the MSR Hubba, an Aeon li, and a few more over the years. Ultra lightweight is ALWAYS a compromise but the One is still the best bang for your buck. I’ll buy another when mine finally dies on me. I like the feeling of just pushing it into my pack and spreading it out to fill all the crevices 😂

Them shortening the foot-box made the tent not an option for me. I have a wide pad too and not being able to use that sucks...

Same here. My god I hate tent manufacturers ignoring or even gaslighting tall people

Thanks for your good review video. Any chance you would sell this tent? I'm 6'5" and based on other reviews it seems the new version of The One won't work for me.

Hi, great review! Does this retain a lot of water after a good rain? And what leggings are you wearing?

I used to have Gossamer Gear's The Two silnylon tent and it was great I loved it. I ended up getting their DCF The One because I wanted to go lighter. To this day I still daydream about my Two LOL

bare with me, assuming a trekking pole is multi functional. so part of the tent, but can be used outside of that. question is can they be left behind?
@Beardedbackpacker
@Beardedbackpacker 5 месяцев назад
Trekking poles are a separate item that most hikers and backpackers use. Basically they are adjustable height walking sticks. They are great at taking pressure off your knees and ankles while hiking for miles. This type of tent saves weight by not using a regular pole structure but uses trekking poles which most backpackers already have with them. Hope that helps!

@@Beardedbackpacker it does! but i don't really need those so wondering if those could be left behind (gifted to mother) to save on weight.
