I just finished a 7,920 mile trip from WA to Maine and back. Riding solo, with no itinerary or schedule and it was by far the best trip of my life. Sure I missed my wife and dogs, but I saw amazing vistas and met great people. I’ll remember it for the remainder of my life

That's fantastic & just the sort of adventure I'm desperate for...the trouble is I've two elderly dogs that I'm solely responsible for & so overnights aren't possible.

Much Respect 👍👍Summer of 23 I did something similar but from KY to WA. No schedule.Only itinerary was to visit with family members n OR. & Montana. No GPS just paper maps & taking what ever rds I wanted. all while riding & stopping whenever I wanted to on my trusty 23 Triumph Tiger 900✌️🤓

Just wondering if all your front facing footage was done using a chest mount ? It appeared a good view , only thing is you can’t show anything to your left or right easily .

Your videos are so incredibly well done!! It's the best part of my day to see a new one pop up on the feed. Thanks for taking us along....

BugMoto, I admire that you're willing to put yourself out there...sharing that you're nervous about riding on gravel. I started riding motorcycles on gravel in the late 70's. I rode more gravel than pavement early in my riding career. For years I was embarrassed that I grew up on a gravel road...it was much later in life that I fully appreciated the value in that rural upbringing.

I started riding when I was 9 yo, so first eight years were all on dirt. That's the best education for a motorcyclist.

One good thing about riding alone is you don't have the pressure of keeping up with more experienced riders. Overcoming fears is a great feeling and you can do it at your speed I found. As they say stumbling blocks are just stepping stones you tripped over, every experience is a chance to make good memories and stretch yourself as a person and rider. great video again, thanks

You made my day with another video. There are many things to take away from this video that can be applied to life. Such as face our fears and try it and keep it simple. Plus, we get in our own way of not trying something we dream about doing. Get out an enjoy life on a motorcycle, it is magical!

Missing a turn sometimes might lead you into a better way. One day I skipped 1 video that I was going to watch and the YT trickery showed me 1 of yours and that was it, subscribed on the moment! Thanks for all you share! 👍👍

A good way to end my day, riding along on skittish gravel with you! Yvonne Choinard spoke about bringing too much gear saying, if you bring bivouac gear, you will use it and, he said, it's not an adventure until things go wrong! The backroads are where we find ourselves again. William Least Heat-Moon's book, Blue Highways- A Journey into America spells it all out for us for us two lane riders. Thanks!

Back roads rule! I've traveled on my old Vespa GTS 250, almost any bike, and any bag works.

What a wonderful video. I live in Australia and about to embark on 3000 mile round trip on my Triumph Thunderbird. All camping and all back roads. Very excited indeed.

Bug you have turn off T/C and slide the rear out a little on the gravel roads. Nothing dangerous just get it a little loose at lower speeds. That's exactly how I got confident with my GS. Great video, I really enjoy watching your content.

100%, every so often I go 'dirt road' hunting on my bike. They are getting more scarce these days around here and it saddens me. I totally felt your disappointment when you found pavement again. 🤣 - Another fantastic video man, you are fast becoming a youtube favorite over here.

Hehehe, just remembered by first moto camping tent was an orange plastic "tube" tent. It doubled as the rain cover for my duffle and sleeping bag.

Oh man, fantastic route. Lucky! Can you tell me what the CA part of the route was? I'd love to ride it! I've only ever been to Chico over hiway 36. I remember when I first started motorcycle touring forty years ago, it was exactly as you imagined. Dufflebag bungeed to the back of the seat. Backpack converted to a tank bag. Gone. On the road for a week. Actually, my current setup is just a technically refined version of exactly the same ideas. Ha! Love it! Oh - I can see myself truck camping at some point. Just went for a three day holiday this week in fact. Mrs. MonsterSlayer won't ride any more, but we just throw a tent and the usual into the bed of the truck and off we go to the same roads, sights, and campgrounds that I frequent on my bike. It was nice. Just traded out the moto fun for quality time with Mrs. MS. Eh...won't elaborate on the value judgement, hehehe, just say it's not a permanent trade by any means, at this point. But if the day ever comes when I can't ride...
