I love this little amp for small gigs... Smaller room, say 20 people. I use one mic & acoustic electric guitar. Bigger gigs I'd use the Fender Acoustic, but this little amp is easy to carry and won't throw you back out!

This is an amazing small amp when you need to be just a bit louder. They are available used for about $100.00. Beats anything else out there for tone. Run your pedal board in stereo through this thing and be the hit of the party!

Thanks so much for the review, you actually helped up go for the Boss Street amp as it has an XLR mic connection plus more options for mic tone and effects. We already had an old version 1 Street amp so know how good they are. The version 2 adds more volume and aux out and is even lighter than the v1. Boss/Roland are very hard to beat for tone, features, build quality and reliability.

I traveled to Canada, and took this Lil beauty with me. it fit into my suitcase perfectly. My Hotel room was gently filled with Reverb. It's only like 11" wide, 4" thick, and Appx 7" tall. I love that it sounds like a bigger amp. I am a fingerstyle guitarist, and this Micro Roland picks up all the detail in your Playing. You won't get ear busting volume, but you will get Clarity. The Reverb and Delay, ( both of which I use daily), are Perfect..... P.S. Does the Queen still soil her Velvet? Thanks!

I have got the same model, there is another one which has a " Wide " option in place of the Centre Cancel but that's a minor difference. It deliberately has basic functionality as It's a "grab and go amp" plug in your mic, guitar then away you go. I think more options for delay and chorus may sound better but you will lose the whole idea of a "grab and go amp" which it was marketed for. It's for an instant performance without any timewasting on adjusting the effects. Simply plug in Mic, Guitar, then turn on effects and your away. I think it's great. I use it for home practicing and local gigs, along with a Beta 58a microphone and I am using it again at the end of January at an art show in my home town of Liverpool. Best of all is I ride a bike so I can put this amp and mic stand in my Guitar bag put it on my back and go anywhere... amazing, I cant wait to see if they bring out an improved version which I will buy, but if not I will be happy with this one, and busking is now easier too. It's a winner all round. Good to see more videos on it on YT about what others think about it.
@GotAUkulele
@GotAUkulele 9 лет назад
Totally agree with you. As for if they do a better one - not that I am aware of in this form factor, but I did just get a Roland AC-33 which is just sublime. Portable (in a way) runs on mains and batteries and has a terrific acoustic tone. Like all Roland stuff - just works, just dead reliable.

I use the Roland AC amp that's more suited for acoustic instruments. It has reverb and tone and chorus and a wide setting on it. having tried both I would say mine is more suited for ukes. The one you have is good for electric guitars
@GotAUkulele
@GotAUkulele 8 лет назад
yes and no - I too use and AC (The AC 33) for performances and you are right - its a better acoustic amp. This though I dont consider to be an amp for performances - rather more for practicing at a pinch. Yes it has settings for electrics - but also has an acoustic option. As I say though - it's just a portable practice amp that is easy to carry around.
@lastoftheurgents1965
@lastoftheurgents1965 8 лет назад
I use the AC for busking with my guitar and put a mic through it as well. It's not loud loud but is enough for me to be heard and gives a bit of volume..and I usually just have the setting at half. I some use the AC for when I play with our local uke group just to give a bit of volume to the band..but I wouldn't use it for BIG performances

Hello Baz. Just stumbled across this old video as it’s now about to become relevant for me. I’ve played acoustic only for the last few years and wanted to take the plunge into amplification, effects and connecting straight to pc. How about a video of how you’d go about some of these issues. 🤞🤙
@GotAUkulele
@GotAUkulele 4 года назад
Will see what I can do - amplification of course is distinct in many ways from connecting to a PC. Amplification really only needs two things - an amplifier and something to make the uke louder. To make the uke louder you either play into a microphone connected to the amplifier or need to fit a pickup to the ukulele that allows you to plug the uke direct to the amp. connecting to a PC is different and really usually used for recording purposes. You need the same means of turning the uke signal into an electrical one to connect to the PC (so either again into a microphone or using a pickup) - but the connection to PC is more complex. You ideally need an interface that takes that signal and turns it into a USB input. That's the setup I use to record these videos - microphone into a USB interface, and then into my laptop. I did this article on that subject. www.gotaukulele.com/2019/12/how-got-ukulele-reviews-are-recorded.html in short - if you just want to be louder - you just need an amp and a means to get the signal to the amp. If you want to connect to a laptop you need an interface and again, the means to get the signal to the interface. Most people deal with the 'signal' bit by way of pickups.

@@GotAUkulele I was about to purchase Blackstar Bass Fly3. Yesterday I tried the Mobile Cube on Bass and it started clipping at above 1/4 of max volume. However, the sound was very good until that point. And I think the volume at below 1/4 was higher that Fly Bass 3's Max Volume.(Although I am not sure. Can someone confirm this?) After all, the tweeters are bigger in this Roland amp. However, you're right. I am afraid of playing songs at higher that 1/4th of the Max Volume on bass with the mobile Cube might break it. @GotAUkulele

Yes because most if not all loop pedals work by plugging the uke into the pedal and the pedal into the amp. My concern with the mobile though is the small speaker. Easily gets confused on anything but the simplest and cleanest tones. Loop pedals create naturally complex loops and I wonder at what point this amp will lose its way on sound
