Jaime Lannister, Kingslayer, oathbreaker, the most complex and real character in the history of television. There are no men like him, only him. By the end of the series, those 2 pages won't be enough space to write down all the great deeds of Jaime.
Everyone goes back to that same line, like it justifies their hatred of him. If you cannot understand that Jamie has one of the greatest character Archs in television history, and will instead focus on that one time in season one, then you probably shouldn't watch GoT because you don't have the IQ to comprehend it.
aakash saini yes he pushed Bran outta the window and for that I didn't like him but even bran says that if he hadn't lost the use of his legs he wouldn't of became the 3 eyed raven and yes he had a blind allegiance to super bitch but that's no more he saved millions of people from a mad man and Is on his way to help save the realm once again all his cocky bravado bull was a product of his up bringing and Cersei and loyalty to his family he is a different person since loosing his sword hand,
Hafiz Farook you got to remember that Cersei is a sociopathic and extremely manipulative woman. Any boy at an early age with a weak conviction (mainly in part to his overbearing father) can be easily manipulated and that's exactly what Cersei did. Think about it, she was around the same age the time she slept with Jaime for the first time and got the prophecy from the witch. My bet is she decided to use Jaime as a shield to protect herself and her future spawn. He's always been her toy. He fell in love because of how she treated him. Now that he's matured and finally waking up to the cruelty that is Cersei he's actually trying to make a change. Yes his actions were spineless and cowardous, but not solely of his own volition.
Hafiz Farook If anything Jaime is the most moral Lannister; he's the only one who would actually save the vulnerable. Even Tyrion (the show has whitewashed him) isn't moral; raping a prostitute is an example. Incest is the only major flaw of Jaime. Also if your going to say incest makes Jaime fully immoral (which it does to a certain extent) then you have to include majority of the characters who have been a product or been involved of incest (cousin marriage). Remember this is based of 15th century England beliefs.
Gotta say the Kingslayer is probably in my top 3 favourite characters, so nuanced an layered, seen as one of the most dishonourable yet is probably the most honourable.....
I know but he was only referring to his handsome Kingly looks. At that time he certainly wasn't suited to be but at this point I think he's a better choice than a lot of others out there. God I miss the books though. I might have to do a re-read sometime soon. Maybe this summer & Winter
He would definitely be better than a lot of the other choices, being anti-immolation. As for reading the books, yeah that would definitely pass the time until the last season of the show. And hopefully after the last season, there will then be another book released. Hopefully.
i don't know if he would be fit for it after all at his heart he is more like Ned seeing himself as a soldier rather than a lord or king and the moment when he sat on the throne and all looked to him to choose who might become the new king, he mused but as Tyrion points out he's ran from power every time it's offered itself to him.
Alexander Tahtadjian I mean Ben affleck embodies Wayne and his mannerisms better than bale did and the design of his batman was more comic accurate but now he wants out of the role...of D.C. Ever wants to reboot their universe I thing they should consider him, especially if they're going for an older, more grizzled Bateman itteration
Perfect ending, and a perfect lead-in to Season 8 where we’ll finally get to see Jaime teaming up with the North and (hopefully) picking up his character development where it left off. There’s still a man of honor in there, and I look forward to seeing how his arc continues
Jaimeee! I don't think I could ever move on from you! While everyone in my age fancies Jon Snow or Robb Stark, here I am badly smitten with you. I honestly hated you at first but then it's your death that I mourned the most! What a beautiful life it could be if you end up staying with Brienne instead of dying with your sister. 😭 a month have passed since I watched GOT and I still, the wounds remained unhealed. 💔 After watching GoT, I wasn't able to watch another series again. I am so messed up. 😔
Jaime's going to swing by Riverrun, gather an army of Lannister/Tully forces and head North. He's going to be a great asset on the battlefield as a field commander. There's still room left in his pages...
So good. Christ, I cannot wait to see what Jaime does next, we'll have to wait two years for it! If he go North to Winterfell, how is Bran and the whole Stark family going to react to him?
sanam511 I also think he will kill the night king, he’s been called the king slayer all these years and if the king slayer kills the night king, king slayer will now be knowing as a good thing
Am I the only guy who gets inspired by knowing more about how righteous Jamie was always.. Jon Snow is shown as main Hero but I find Jamie far superior hero than Jon..
Nooo.. I thought so too... Jaime far outshines Jon..Jon is boring... Jaime being righteous is against such great odds.. I was so disappointed that he was not e Azor Ahai.. If that theory ever bore fruit.. Or ever will
This comment section is like a time capsule of hope for the future, before anyone suspected Game of Thrones would end on such a downer and this character would die the way he did. I want to go back to that time. Return me to the "Before Times." :(
At the time, Jaime didn't give Ned reason to think otherwise. I agree that now we know slaying Aerys was a noble act, but how was Ned supposed to know that when he entered the throne room to see Jaime sitting on the Iron Throne after killing the king he swore to protect, ya know?
Ser Jaime Lannister Squired for Barristan Selmy against the Kingswood Outlaws. Knighted and named to the Kingsguard in his seventeenth year for valor in the field. At the Sack of King's Landing murdered his king, Aerys the second, at the foot of the Iron Throne. Pardoned by King Robert Baratheon. Thereafter known as the Kingslayer. During the Long Night defended his supposed enemy King of the North , Jon Snow, at the ruins of Winterfell. Killed by the Night King by protecting Sansa Stark of House Stark. Therefore known as the Oathkeeper.
