This is Eurodance! It was a neat genre where a lot of the producers were European (many were German) but the singers were American (usually African-American) or Caribbean-European. You should check out "Mr. Vain" by Culture Beat, "More and More" by Captain Hollywood Project, "Sweet Dreams" by LaBouche, and "Run Away" and "Another Night" by Real McCoy. Those should get you started. It's one of my favorite genres. So timeless. The German sound production on these songs are just perfection...along with the exquisite vocals (that don't use auto tune).
@@michaellynch5254 WOW! You really went the extra mile, Michael! It's in my top 5 songs from that genre. There's just something the beat, lyrics, and her voice. Thanks for commenting. Realllly sweet of you!
She came to my town a few years ago for an outdoor event in a park. There was only a small crowd mostly of young people who didn’t know her. As soon as she started her performance I stood up to start dancing, together with a few other folks of my age. She walked from the stage and joined us in the dancing circle while singing! I loved it!! An unforgettable experience. She was so sweet and allowed me getting a selfie with her. I was in 7th heaven 🥰😍
Brings back the memories when MTV was about music and not lame reality shows didn't it? Exactly. Also, did anyone say 2Unlimited? The best techno dance group ever.
i think Jayvee might do 2Unlimited, don't think he wants to miss out on them, cause they were the very best of this music genre from Europe to south America and Asia they were worldwide.
Yes! 1992.. I had a hits CD from that year and we were dancing to this and Finally-CeCe Peniston, Jump- Kris Kross and ItsMyLife - Dr Alban(but maybe that was just a hit in Europe?). Anyway: great times! ♡
This song was so BIG in the 90s. Snap! is a german band, and the style is typcall for 90s Eurodance: male raps in the verses, strong female vocals in the chorus and a very catchy dance hookline. Many european dance songs from the 90s had a similar style. But "Rhythm is a Dancer" belongs to the best eurodance songs from the 90s.
popular group at that time was Culture Beat their Biggest hit was Mr. Vain. I have bought their Album at tht time. I like that music still very much. I loved "Anything" and "Serenity" (that song is much different, remains me about universe / Star Trek somehow) the most.
Was such a big hit in the '90s clubs. I don't know a single person who doesn't like the song. Everyone gets infected by hearing at the very first time.
Loleatta Holloway voice and music was sampled for that song, you should listen to her song 'Love Sensation' to know the true power behind ride on time 🙂👍
Oh man, if we were the same age when this song came out. You would have had the time of your life. You would fit in so well. We'd be on the floor with all our friends. Dancing. You would have so much fun!
You did a good job trying to understand this song's place in history. Back then, we weren't constantly stimulated like now. There was no internet. When you heard this type of music in the club you got hyped.
Oh now you need to listen to more: “Rozalla- Everybody’s free”, “Hadaway- What is love and Rock my heart”, “Dr. alban- It’s my life”, “Gloworm- Carry me home”, Ice MC-Cinema”, “Culture beat- Mr Vain”
90's Dance Project from Germany, they had a lot of hits like 'The Power', 'Ooops Up', 'Cult Of Snap', 'Welcome To Tomorrow', 'The First , The Last Eternity', 'Exterminate', 'Do You See The Light(Looking For)', they were all great disco songs !!
I would call this early 90s House Music. Here are more songs from that time: Wiggle It - 2 in A Room Mr. Vain - Culture Beat Pump Up the Jam - Technotronic Gonna Make You Sweat - C&C Music Factory What is Love - Haddaway Finally - CeCE Peniston Be My Lover - La Bouche Another Night - Real McCoy I Like To Move It- Reel 2 Real Everybody Everybody - Black Box Strike It Up - Black Bok The Rhythm of the Night - Corona
Check out M.A.R.R.S. - "Pump Up The Volume" next, I think you will like that one too. Oh, and "The Bomb!" by The Bucketheads is another you should check out too! 🤗
By far... one of my favorite songs of the 90s! I can remember waiting to hear it on the radio so I could record it on a cassette tape!! Lol 😆 I'm so OLD!! 😥 😔
I was literally working yesterday and thought "He needs to listen to Rhythm is a Dancer". Happy to see you made it. Eurodance 4 Eva! This genre of music is Eurodance. KLF, Snap, Culture Beat, Capella and 2 Unlimited are examples.
I was just thinking about Mr Vain from Culture Beat! Great times! I'm from Holland where 2 Unlimited is from, they were HUGE! Together with 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor and 24 Seven. Also vivid memories of Captain Jack who is actually still going strong here doing gigs on nineties-parties. Would probably call it Eurodance Jay..?
The music recording network is a reacting channel and they reacted to 1 song of Capella "you got to let the music" also to Culture beat Mr Vain and 2Unlimited songs
@@mariekek9934 the music recording network reacted to some eurodance songs, i think they reacted to 1 song of 2 brothers on the 4th floor and a few of 2Unlimited
This was when you could reach out & touch people, breathe freely, move about without being scanned & tracked & looked at with suspicion, when peoples hands & minds were not connected constantly to technology, and people still had their own functioning independent minds.
Thanks for this reaction!!!! This song reminds me my father. He bought this record. I remember dancing togheder.this album. He passed away and you have brought me a lot of beautiful memories. I'm smiling and dancing 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I could name so many 90’s dance tracks Id love to see you reacting to, but the two that stand out in my mind are:- Ultra Nate - Free N Trance - Set You Free Both are what you’d call old skool, Ultra Nate is still a classic in my eyes and N Trance had many big dance/old skool hits in the 90’s and early noughties
Oh!!! Oh yeah the early 90’s had so much good dance music. You playing it right now is even epic haha. I was in elementary school but wish I could have heard all this in a club back then.
You definitely have to dive into 90's club dance music. I could listen to it all night long. This is a great start! 😊 I could make one long list of songs to listen to.
You cannot imagine how many countless times I've listened to this along with Robin S Show me love. Rhythm is a dancer came out a year before Robin S. Rhythmbis a dancer was a BIG HIT across the globe. It stayed un the charts for like a year, it came out in early 1992 and it was reaching Top5 in the U.S. a year later 1993....it felt like it was a forever hit!!! Snap! had more hits, worth checking. Please check their Colour Of Love song....
You made exactly the right historical correlation…..this was the same timeframe as KLF and Robyn. There was so much amazing dance music in that era…..Crystal Waters, The Real McCoy, C & C Music Factory, Lisa Stansfield……
What a blast from the past, remember clubbing to this on a Thursday Student Night in Newcastle town centre, such an infectious joyful song, got me bopping in my seat watching this, just can't help it 🕺
' EURO ' ... This genre of dance music was generally labelled as ' Euro ' both in Canada and in Europe. The majority of this kind of music came from continental Europe, hence the title. Thanks for reacting to this awesome banger of a song !!
I just loved Eurodance music back then as a teenager. This stuff was also insultingly called kermis-techno here in Germany because it was all over the place at fairs 😄
Jay, if you ever read these comments, please look up these 90's dance tracks: *Livin Joy 'Dreamer' *Urban Cookie Collective 'The Key, The Secret' *The Real McCoy 'Run Away' I'd love to also see you react to the Outhere Brothers 'Boom Boom Boom'! I've a feeling you'd love that! Also finally, I would love to see you react to a song by a British singer who passed away in 1995. She was killed in a hit and run and had her life stolen from her, without her killer ever being found. She had the most incredible voice and deserves for the world to know about her. Look up Shiva (Louise Dean) and her song 'Freedom', which was released just shortly after her death and made the top 20 here in the UK. You'll love her power vocal
The song "Rhythm Is A Dancer" is based on the early 80s song Auto-Man by Newcleus with its main melody Snap!'s logo, the snapping hand, is also a copy of the logo of the American label Stax Records, on which acts such as Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes and the BarKays appeared in the 1970s. Snap!'s first track and number one hit, "The Power" is a plagiarism. The song contains unauthorized elements from the drum loop from King of the Beats by Mantronix, the rap Let the Words Flow by Chill Rob G and the classic line I've Got the Power from Love's Gonna Get You by Jocelyn Brown.
I was one of the many people dancing in the dance clubs when this song came out. This was one of my favorite songs during that time frame. When the DJ played this song everybody danced.
Wow this takes me back to being 10/11yrs old and bouncing around to this tune and it has aged wonderfully. Oh and yes the 90's had many a banging dance/house tunes. Great reaction video thanks.
love ur reaction vids my jayvee.. ur sincere and enjoy the songs for real.. no pretence 80-90's uk teenies/twenties were whacked out on scooby snacks lovin this shit.... still are x
Anyone who was a teenager in the UK in the 90s has a treasure trove of wonder-filled memories of the innocence, love, friendships, and long nights of magic from going to clubs and raves. Go to a Metal or Rap concert & people are violent and aggro. Go to a Country music concert & people are drunk and lethargic. Go to any dance music concert & everyone is smiling and moving! Eurodance is World Peace.
Turbo B is one of my favorite rappers from this era. His voice is so powerful. And all the lead singers of Snap! are very engaged in bringing us sound landscapes through their voices. Excellent choice! In the future, take a look at Culture Beat (Jay Supreme and Tania Evans on vocals). They made history. Cheers!
