Some find Sansa to be boring and weak, others see her as a true hero. One way or the other no one can deny that she has one of the most interesting stories out of all GoT characters, and the most tragic one. A little girl grew up believing in tales of faraway warm lands, where sun shines bright, knights are always brave, kings always just and queens always good. She lives in a cold modest climate with stern customs and very little to do. Of course she wants to see that faraway land, of course she's in love with the idea of being queen, of being married to the prince, and why wouldn't she? Princes are always so brave and sweet inside of her little world. Yes, she was a bit snobby and annoying, but what 13 year old isn't at some point? Hating of Sansa is only based on that incident on the Kings road, but she was just a child, were you all so perfect as children that you never did something you later regretted? She was naive, unaware of the consequences her actions would've produced, cut her some slack. From the moment she stood in front of the Sept of Baelor, watching her father's execution, she was a changed person. Imagine the horrors: having to look at your father's head on a spike, being threatened daily, humiliated, beaten, almost raped. Alone, scared, scarred, lost. All Sansa had was no family, no security, no help and a traitor's name. Tragedy of her story lies in the fact that all her dreams were crushed with one swing of the sword, and she was now left to live in a world in which knights beat girls, queens murder children and kings torture every living thing. She then moves on to other rapists and sadists (aka Ramsy), but through it all never loses the spirit. That's a fascinating thing about her. If she were weak she would've thrown herself off the Red Keep like Tommen did. Instead, she waited, listened, learned and observed waiting for her chance, therefore she kept hope! Isn't that strong? To live tortured for years and to choose to keep living, and not only that, but to remain hopeful of a better tomorrow. Would a weak person be capable of that? Would a weak person, after being wronged so many times, still keep her gentle heart and tender soul? Not all heroes know how to swing swords or ride dragons, because not everyone are fighters. Some are survivors, and the hardest thing to do at times is to survive. Having this character in the world of violence, monstrosities and evil is refreshing, and it takes a lot of strength to endure what Sansa did and still keep on standing.
I can't believe that people hate Sansa because she's weak. She isn't. she has survived until yet, always surrounded by enemies and she is smart in a very subliminal way. Everyone loves Arya becaus she is a killer and a badass, but sansa is way more smarter
" Everyone loves Arya becaus she is a killer and a badass, but sansa is way more smarter" i STRONGLY disagree there...arya wouldnt survive in arya's world just like arya in sansa's....her training in the house of blck and white surpass by far sansa's since she can actually perfecly lying anssd showing false epmotion to use people...sansa by far has make stupid decisions....i don't think some people hate because she is weak but for her bad dynamic with jon...who showed a lack of trust in begining and the end...
I agree that Sansa could only survive in her world and Arya could only survive in HER world. But: you blame Sansa for decisions she made when she was just a little girl. And what is about the stupid decisions that Arya made? for example she could have end the war by Name Tywin Lannister to Jaqen, she could have saved her family (of course she didn't knew that) but she was too focused on her own . Don't understand me wrong, i love Arya, but i love Sansa too. I have read so much shit People wrote about Sansa that i fell like i have to defeat her. Sansa deserved NOTHING that she had to endure, she was just a Little Girl in love with dreams about knights and honour.
arya did wanted to kill tywin and kill him NOW but jaquen said that a contract don't have delay...;;and could last for years.....an even if he did and tywin dies the war who still go on with stannis, robb, renly and balon.....so arya choice couldn't have been stupid just useless...since she couln't choose the time for the assasination.....and like i said earler don't blame sansa for her decisions as a little girl...since she made bad decsions in every season......i blame her on her relationship...and how she never truly end up tursting the right people.....she show no faith, trust or teamwork with jon....beiong young is also not a excuse.....shireen and lyanna mormont are ten time wiser...than sansa at the same age.. i have empathy toward the character becasue no one deserve that....but that still don't mak e her likeable on my opinion....if so cercei also deserved respect since she also was raped, beaten, abused and humiliated
That's one of the best things of game of thrones: Everyone has his own point of view. I understand why you don't like her, and thats totally ok. I just wanted to say that you can't compare lyanna or Shireen with sansa 'cause they are not only totally different as a character, but they also live in totally different situations. And to defeat Sansa: you said she never truly trusted the right people. So who are the right people? she was always surrounded by enemies and Littlefinger, it was a wise decision not to trust them. I agree with you, that she could have shown more sympathy with Jon, but then I have to say, her experinces made her distrustful. I don't know which way she will chose from now on, maybe she will become a hateful manipulator, but until now, I don't blame her for any decision she made.
I hate the fact that on facebook when people steal his videos they get millions of views and likes and a lot of the time they don't credit him. Zurik deserves way more subs.
One of the most under appreciated characters in GoT. Her character graph has been one hell of a journey. People get more inclined to characters like Arya cause of her fearless nature. But Sansa in her own way is a true Stark through and through and is a strong and smart woman. Best part of her journey would be how she survived every day in King's Landing living under the nose of her father's murderers. Who would have her killed at the blink of an eye. Surviving with nothing else but smartness and her biggest tool Courtesy. A great tribute to her with as usual spot on editing.
Agree like whenever i see a top 10 game of thrones characters the ones who are 1 place are always either tyrion lannister arya stark or daenerys targaryen whille sansa is always second place or third i mean sure they are great but sansa in my opinion deserve the number 1 spot cuz her journey/Development is amazing i.m glad she got her happy ending by being queen of the north
Sansa is the perfect example of a person sheltered by a life of luxury being thrown in the harsh realities of life. I personally love her story, as so many confident people with no actual talents learn that you must strive to save yourself instead of relying on others to do it for you.
she has such a beautiful story. She suffered the most. Beaten, mocked, humiliated, raped, forced to assist on her father's beheading. Some people would kill themself, but she remained quiet like a wolf observing its prey...and then... here it is... time to attack ! haha Long live to Lady Stark of Winterfell (the Queen in the north to my heart)
Archangel I believe Sansa is the character that has suffered the most. Think about it. First off Sansa did absolutely NOTHING to deserve any ill treatment from anyone not even the Lannisters. Theon on the other hand got exactly what he deserved. He betrayed the family that raised him and treated him with kindness, he killed two innocent little boys and passed them off as the Stark children, if it weren't for him Rickon would still be alive. Second Theon went all broken pussy over ONE psychopath. On the other hand Sansa survived not one, not two, not three, but four of the most vicious and ruthless people in Westeros. This list includes Joffrey Baratheon, Cersei Lannister, Petyr Little Finger Bealish, and Ramsay Bolton. Now how in the fuck are you gonna tell me Theon has suffered more in the hands of just one psychopath when Sansa has been in the hands of four? And I forgot Lysa Arryn. I think I understand why you would even think that what Theon went through even compares to what Sansa has been through. As a man you can't comprehend anything being worst than losing a penis. Let me tell you losing your whole family is worst than losing a penis. Having been the prisoner and engaged to the people who we're responsible for killing your family is worst than losing a penis. Being married and raped to other people who had a hand in killing your family is worst than losing a penis. The thing is there are a lot worst thing than losing a penis or the hand that you hold your sword with when you are a legendary Knight. The thing is these people had it coming she didn't so it only makes what she's gone through even worst. Plus she was a child when all this started.
but the thing is sansa didn't deserve any of that, so what she like Joffrey but she didn't know what he was capable of, she blamed herself for many things. its not like she took winterfell off her family was it, she was nearly raped, and then actually was raped, suffered, got taken the mick out of in the play, humiliated, beaten so many times. and then u get people who are like oh yeah jon has been through the most cus hes not a true stark and sansa still classed him as one. tbf what has jon actually been through yah he died, but got back to life he hasn't sufferend nowhere near as arya and sansa have now way
Hey Zurik i like all your videos of character but i don´t see you make one for the best character ever in the show... Tywin Lannister! please make one video of his best parts would be awsome!
While Sansa's never been a favourite character of mine, I've got to admit she's gone through more character development than most. She's gone from a snobbish brat to a confident young woman. I just hope she won't betray Jon in the next season.
I like her character development, she learned a lot from littlefinger.. she persuade ramsay to kill roose bolton, used littlefinger to win battle of the bastard - in short she avenged the red wedding..she might end up queen of westeros..she now know how to play the game of thrones...😁
Sansa has really grown as a character. She has gone through so much and she realised that she is not stupid and that she does not have to pretend to be stupid
Only queen i would bend a knee. She worked her self like noone else. She is most loved/hated character in GoT i also hated her in seasons 1 and 2 but then i started to like her watching.how she learned growing stronger and wiser...QUEEN IN THE NORTH!!!
Sansa suffered than any other characters in GOT. But these made her stronger, wiser. She is not a little bird now, she is Lady Sansa. A wolf from Winterfell.
2:57 "If I'm going to die, let it happen while there's still some of me left" I rarely see this quote in videos, and yet it's very touching. I'm happy you used it.
god i loved her character it truly represented that how in a patriarchal society women r sheltered used maipulated and abused.she rose above it making best out of her circumstances and became a true queen
i think sansa and petyr had the best relationship in the show, simply because the relationship was so twisted, complicated and interesting to watch. i adore this some kind "strange" connection.
She's my favorite character in the books. I loved her character development from being a selfish and weak little bird to being a strong willed woman. Yes, she is not a badass like Arya, she can't even lift a sword but she's one of the strongest character I know of in GoT having through a lot.
This is excellent. There are many Sansa Stark videos but this is by far the best. I like that you used many different Sansa scenes, almost all other Sansa videos use the same scenes and dialog, very refreshing. She is my favorite character.
This is STUNNING. One of the best tributes I have scene for any character on any show. She is an incredible character & you did her justice. I really hope you make more videos of her, this was just something else
Great job as always! I like Sansa. She is complicated and subtle character. She deals with difficult dillemas over and over on her own. At first with courage, confusion and naivety. Later with strength, fear, distrust and understanding. I wish you had included the scene when Sansa tells Joffrey "Or maybe he'll give me yours" and Sandor tells her "Save some pain girl. Give him what he wants". I think it's her turning point to put on her mask.
Sansa saved my life in so many ways. I love this character so much. She is the strongest person on the show even if she suffered the most. She is not a mindless killer driven by her feelings - she is smart and knows how to handle things. Sophie once said „Bravery and courage isn‘t always standing up for yourself, it‘s just not backing down in the face of fear“ and that’s the reason Sansa is still alive in the show. I have watched this video a thousand times because it reminds me of her strong personality and gives me strengh everytime I watch it. The music, the voices, the pictures work perfectly together and are so well cutted ... i am overwhelmed... you did a great job and I am so glad this video exists! I think I like this video more than the show because it shows just my favourite person highlighted by your great skills. Thank you so much for this! By the way. All your other videos are perfect too
I knew the “no one is safe” rule before I watched the GoT and in season 1 when I first saw Sansa, judging by her attitude and her character, I thought she’d be dead on S1 or at least S2, but damn she played the innocent, pity and patience card so well everywhere she goes.
This is absolutely ASTOUNDING! You've captured her entire journey perfectly in just under 5 minutes and shown that she was in fact, just a child when she made some of those decisions that people always dislike her for. I love how you focused not only on all the suffering (oh so much suffering) but the small moments of hope and kindness she was shown amidst all that, however small they may have been and ending it on that note where it seems like FINALLY, it may be Lady Stark's turn at happiness. Bravo!
She has gone through THE best character development in the whole show. She became my second favorite character little by little, without me even noticing
I always wished Sansa was kinder towards Tyrion. He gave her kindness and tried to protect her before anyone else and she never recognized it. Maybe I'm biased though since he is my favourite character.
What has she done to Tyrion that was so awful? A hostage to her captor? Also you said "she never recognized it". How many times Sansa said in the show that Tyrion was kind to her? To everyone who asks. Are people remember her conversations with Tyrion before the Red wedding or are they forget on purpose?
Geeky Panda Yes, it explains in details here if you are interested: wendynerdwrites.tumblr.com/post/109273152617/someone-defended-child-molestation-and-my-anger
I haven't read the books. I believe the series stands alone and has taken a different direction. I know many characters, Tyrion included, are quite different in the novel but I only know the television characters. Going 100% off the show I love his character and he never molested her. This is one reason I have chosen to not read the books, I do not want my favourite characters to become monsters to me.
A character people think did not go through any change or development like Arya or Bran but I guess her real strength was her will power to still continue to live instead of commit like a weak person. Video really shows how her character was just so deep in the manipulation web of so many and yet she still lives
Yay! I've been hoping you'd make a Sansa Stark tribute for a while :D I really love how you ended this, by the way with the "You may survive us yet" quote ♥
SLOWLY BUT SURELY, AS I'M MISSING GOT AND LOOKING AT ALL THESE VIDEOS, SANSA IS BECOMING MY FAVOURITE NO MATTER HOW MUCH OF A TWAT SHE WAS BEFORE OR WILL BE.
I love how you did the video different from your other ones. This one is basically a montage of people giving Sansa advice, and how its shaped her into the person she finally is when she is standing at Winterfell in the end of the video.
This was beautifully made. Well, done. Back when I first watched the show, I didn't care for Sansa much. But after countless re-runs, I've grown to enjoy her character a lot more. Love your videos! Your Cersei ones are my favorite. ;)
Ohmuhgod .. Every. Single. Video. BLOWS ME AWAY! The editing, the music choice, the story.. it is a pleasure living in a world with someone of your talent. Keep it up. I will keep watching. You should be getting paid good for your work!
Я очень запомнил её фразу: "Молилась, чтобы быть где-то ещё, думала о том, что хочу, но никогда не думала о том, что у меня есть". Всё видео я смотрю и у меня мурашки, очень и очень сильное видео, Зурик. LONG LIVE THE STARKS!
Never fails to bring me near tears. This is one of my favorite videos by you and one of my favorite Sansa videos ever. You really highlight how her arc in the first 4 seasons resonates in 5&6, and how she's grown.
wow. this is beautiful. it shows every aspect of sansa and really captures her full story and character. it really demonstrates all she's been through. I love her character, this is amazing.
Sansa started at 13 and she went through more crap then nearly any other character! She was beaten, raped, watched many loved ones be slaughtered and was mistreated by many. This nearly made me cry😭😭😂
This video is just way too perfect, i honestly never find anything to say after watching the tributes you make, they contribute a lot in the love i build for the characters.
