Hope you had fun listening along to this album with us! We're currently filming our full crew's reactions to Stamp on It (title track), but since our react schedule is a little backed up due to a handful of collabs we're working on as well, it won't be out for another month or two 😭 Thanks for always being patient and understanding 🙏 To help us grow our editing team and therefore speed up our reaction output, please consider supporting us on our Patreon and get access to loads of exclusive content as well! ➡www.patreon.com/reacttothek Reaction schedule & list of all Patreon exclusive videos: docs.google.com/document/d/1uvf-u1EJVB-hmB3IU0P6M-obdMNu11fo_aUIf6dur70/edit?usp=sharing
Rose is my favorite track on this album too. The vocals sound really intense in the last chorus and it feels like its pulling you up and up. And the sections just blend really well together and you don't really notice where they begin and end
Thank you!!! I honestly feel Goddess Level should have been the title track, and Rose the secondary B side with a stage. To me, Stamp On It was the weakest song (not bad, but weak).
The way the flute in MALA starts alone, but combines in the chorus with the chords creating a totally new context. Ahh I just love it so much! My favourite from the album.
The tracks of this album sound like a mix between Red velvet pop sounds & Aespa experimental futuristic sounds My fav is 'Stamp on it', i like the way they kinda mixed 2 songs into 1, I wasn't a big fan of it at first but now i enjoy it more
And I do feel like postchoruses in Stamp On It could be heard as Velvet side, but also could be heard as representing BoA, and some of the sounds in the bridge are a bit 2nd gen (tying into SNSD) so I feel like with this mini-album, they figured out how to make GOT the Beat both have its own sound, and also pay homage to the origins of the different members.
@@SWCcomposer Yes, I agree! That's why Stamp on it is my fav, it's the track in which they used and matched together all the members identity and they managed to make it sound good and listenable, and the transitions are extremely smooth and catchy (imo in some of the tracks the mix of style doesn't always work perfectly, but this one is extremely well executed and mindblowing)
The comparison between Alter Ego and Girls Generation's Villain is very interesting since I noticed both were composed by Josh Cumbee. No wonder I heard some similarities too
MALA is such a fun play on words, yes! They reference "spicy" like the Sichuan flavour as well as "bad" which is the meaning in Spanish. I love when there are levels like that to the words used.
I love Rose! I like how the first time you hear the chorus, you don't even realize it's the chorus, then by the time you get to the final chorus, it's modulated and the parallel 5th harmony almost becomes the melody... such an interesting track, I can't get enough! (and side note: I love how Sean expresses himself)
I saw them talk about how they try to match the comeback vibe and each other's outfits after so many film sessions of not matching each other's fashion look at all LOLLL
I loved Alter Ego, especially the chorus + post chorus. It was definitely bright but I never really got the empression of being happy, more so a lighter side vs darker side, like what the song's name represents. It had a different type of badassery that felt very grand/cinematic to me
WOAHHH i had the EXACT same thoughts with alter ego!! the action movie vibes and the suiting up sequence that Umu envisioned 😭😭 and the SNSD villain comparison as well!! its like you pulled the thoughts straight out of my mind omg… feels good to know i wasnt just making that connection up from nowhere
didn't like the album at first listen, but after a while the alter ego chorus made it grow on me! i think a darker chorus would've been cool but i ended up liking it BECAUSE of the brightness lol. your reaction to rose did not disappoint xD it's my fav on the album, it's so interesting. and LMAO your reaction to mala is hilarious!! thanks for the first listen vid! love these
Umu describing the trip of Alter Ego is so cute 😊🥰 this album was definitely one that grew on me after a few listens, and this video definitely helped me appreicate it more
Hmm, interesting take on the chorus of 'The Outlaw' ... I really thought it was very powerful and in vibe with the Saw intro ! At first, the jarring cut from the pre-chorus to Chorus was jarring, but in further listens I'm absolutely in Love with it !
Lmao Outlaw is my favorite on the album besides Rose, and MALA. Idk it gets me hype and the bridge is amazing I wish it had a MV like they could have had shotguns with bandanas and horses robbing a train. Ughhhh it would have been perfect 😭 I love this whole album
My favourite in this album is Goddess Level! Each section of the song is good & interesting(I’m obsessed with the sax sound in the chorus) and kept me interested from the beginning till the end.
LITERALLY my top two favorite songs immediately on first listen as well. :D hahahaha I now also have a special place in my heart for Mala (it fights with Goddess Level for 2nd place now)
For me, the mood change in the chorus part of alter ego fits the concept of the song after all they are talking about 2 different personas. Hence, the title alter ego.
Ah finally, been waiting you guys react to this album since it first come out. For me, I was overwhelmed listen to this at first, so much happening, but like always I finally can enjoy it properly after few times, love The Rose, so much, its the only one that goes straight to my playlist right away, and I feel you'll like it too and I was right! 😁 I feel like Alter Ego chorus remind me of 2nd gen kpop era, where they all sing together and all, I actually like it, I feel its best chorus from all song in this album and I don't feel Mala at all, it just don't connect with me even after listening more than 3 times 😅 Anyway thank you for reacting to it can't wait for Stamp On It reaction.
Idk if it was because I was having an off day or something, I did not really love the album in the first listen except for the title which I had already heard before. So this video is actually the 2nd time ever listening to the songs since then and I'm kinda surprised I was vibing and having such a fun time listening to this album like I absolutely loved Rose and Goddess Level and maybe except for Mala I really really like all the songs. Idk how I was living all this while without listening to Goddess level every morning like damn I really was missing out because of my dumbass not giving this a proper chance.
I thought no one want to react or review to GOT the beat, seeing they got so much hate for their music style, lyric, and formation... Thank you umu and the team... At least some people try to appreciate their effort instead of keep bashing them... Not only the artist but the production team behind the screen...
I was amazed by Rose. That is one of the absolute best GG songs I've ever heard. It doesn't beat Sunnyside Up (GOAT of GG songs imo) but it's outstanding.
when i first listen to mala it really reminds of southeast asian type of song, the flute is mostly used in like old malaysian songs and as a malaysian, i really like the vibe of mala. it reminds me of old malay songs!!!
Rose is my favorite b-side of this album. Actualy I love the whole songs, but I scared to Outlaw because of the weird kind of man's voice especialy with earphone on 😭 and I didn't listen Outlaw anymore.
alter ego could be an anime opening tbh, that's most or majority of Japanese pop/rock arrangements for an action supernatural anime rose could be an anime ending lmao
at first listen, i'm not really sure about this album like i got confused idk but after replaying a couple times it started to grow on me. Rose and mala are my favorites, and i still dont understand outlaw like im not saying it's bad just kinda weird idk
