It's simple. The prize pool is too low, the coverage is terrible, and the strength and importance of the tournament are below par. With the boom in Indian chess, it's high time to establish a closed Indian National Championship like the US championship. When I searched around the time you posted the video, I could nto find it b/c all the titles are clickbait/memes. Warangal in Telangana itself has 3 GM and 1 IM. It can beat a lot of countries in chess . It has the top 2 biggest chess culture along with Tamil Nadu . Virtually every school kid plays chess here lol and we had 3 top 10ers as well in Telugu states
