You compatibility ignored NotR spells that you can get from water mages. And ignored differences in defense. Enemies with high magic/fire protection force player to use high damage spells, so maybe to small projectiles deal more damage than one big, but those small ones can't even get through defense so in practice enemy lose no health.
One simply does need remember that resistance in Gothic NOTR is ADDITIVE not MULTIPLICATIVE. In another words you resist certain amount of DMG not a percent of it. There is a lower bound of 5 (that means that unless target is completely immune to it (like trolls and arrows) every attack/spell will deal at least 5 dmg). MOE is an awful target cuz he got like almost no magic resistance. Try using fire arrow against Orc Elite or Shaman and you will spent half of an hour and burn most of your mana pots to kill one. It's also the main reason why mage is not advised on a first playthrough through NOTR. All runes unlike most of the weapons are chapter gated. While mage isn't that bad chapter from chapter II to V you will find really quick that your class does not provide you with the tools required to defeat more challenging monsters. While as a fighter or a bowman with a bit of effort you can build a hero who can clave through hordes of Orcs as soon as chapter II. As a mage you will have to resort to scrolls which can be really used by anyone or invest some points in fighting skills making yourself a hybrid.
@@iamjashin you never play this game or what if spell deal 50 dmg and target have 50 mr you deal him 0 dmg this at least 5 dmg is only with mele attack
@@adxnos3747 yep you will deal only 5 dmg. like literally try killing orc elite with fire arrow on marvin and check for yourself how much a single arrow will do.
Ahh jesus, Ice wave is for freezing multiple enemies that are difficult toghether, like skeletons, also they cant block small and normal fire storm do aoe damage around the target, they have a completely different purpose than a normal fireball or lightning and firerain is a continuos aoe spell that moves with you until it ends while wave of death is a static move, but wave of death does double the damage of firerain (2 times 500), but its not listed
