It's so awesome to see someone around our age (my husband is 61, and I'm 53), and we are into the same things we are! Our bathroom and bedroom are totally gothed out! (grey, black, and purple are our mainstay colors) and our living room is old Victorian right out of a Vincent Price movie! We LOVE your Gothic home content! Keep the content coming PLEASE!!
I have a copy of the original book that the postcard of the fairy riding the bat that you have in a frame on the gallery wall. The book is from 1942 and belonged to my mum when she was a child. Gothic Homemaking made me realize that i CAN make my living space into something that makes me happy. Thanks to the show I now have my own wallpaper design! slowly turning my room into the steampunk haven i've always wanted (gonna take.... a long time. I only really have one wall done!)

Hi! I just found your channel and I cannot WAIT to dive in and catch up. I'm commenting before finishing the video (unwise, I know) just to say that I'm so glad you took a second to talk about the taxidermy. I worked for a taxidermist for a while, and then went to mortuary school, and now am working toward being a forensic anthropologist, so the caretaking of these remains is incredibly important to me and I just wanna say thank you for making sure you're being ethical about it

I personally love the Disney villain motif, but I can totally see the desire to change things up as one's aesthetic develops. That said... _eyes Kurai Kirin_ ...I feel like there must be a better way of making space than just disposing of works of art like that. This is the first time I saw that guy, and I would jump for the chance to own something like that, even though I already get weird enough looks for the jackalope on the wall.

I have a little bit of trivia for you, in reference to your coffin armoire; The handles you refer to on the sides are called 'huckles' ! Hence, the lines used by Doc Holliday (in the great show Tombstone) " I'll be your huckleberer" (also spoken huckleberry) is referred to the person who carries the casket by the huckles!

The gothic bathroom renovation episode was my favorite so far because it included a lot of critical repairs along with the decor, having a good bathroom is hugely important to your quality of life
Love love love! (I was born in 1868 😆 I mean 1968 🤔) & both my mom (who has passed) & myself have been goth before goth was, well goth… my mom did red & black, complete with black leather furniture & red velvet curtains & lamps (much of her items were handmade by her) she even had a coffee table that looked like a coffin complete with floral bouquet… she taught me well & now I decorate with a fusion of goth, steampunk & Victorian & I make all of my decor.

I got a lot of my decorating ideas from you. I was going buy some drawer handles from etsy. Then I remembered some stuff I had around my house and did them my self. I also appreciate how real you are. Your apartment wasn't the best,but you made it yours. Your series is a breath of fresh air. A lot of these gothic home making shows only show the high light reel.

For the vanities mirror the little graveyard scenery should stay. but you should put like glue together glass over it to make it look like that's what's inside of a broken mirror. I think that would really make it stand out a lot more.
