I can see why they distance themselves from each other. They were together for a while so it must be hard for them to stay as friends. Atleast lately Zac has been more open talking about Vanessa in the last couple of years whereas before he wouldn't even mention her name.

he looks really good in this clip when hes in the studio singing lol. my favourite part of the song is when he sings like her echo almost, the line like "why do you have to go?" and when he says "I want you to stay", for some reason that just gets to me. amazing song though.

I think it was more on the distance was getting too much, Vanessa also said in an interview either 2019 or 2018 that when she was dating Zac she would get really jealous and glare at all his female fans and knew that wasn't what was fair...there's no doubt more behind the reason they split but that's all she's said bout it so far
sometimes love just isn't enough.. you can love each other so much but it just won't last. Had to experience the same thing in a long distance relationship.. And it's really hard to stay friends with your ex, especially when they were together for such a long time..

I was scrolling through videos and just saw this one for the first time. Vanessa was right about the song being emotional. I can't help but cry when I watch the scene in the movie and I even shed a few tears watching this video. As for the movie itself, I'm glad Gabriella came back and there was a happy ending.

Seeing as Venessa resung this song recently on her social media, makes me sad and happy that she still treasures this song, but she and Zac didn't make it.
I remember as a child I used to cry at this song because it’s so powerful and Vanessa sings it really beautifully and puts emotion into the song as does Zac and as Gabriella and Troy the song really connects them two together.
This just appeared on my recommended.. it’s been thirteen years and I still love that song. High School Musical is probably still my favorite trilogy from disney🥰🥰
