That moment last year when Petry and Poehling skated by Kassian after he ran the goalie was absolutely embarrassing. It's no wonder both of those guys were traded in the off-season. This type of thing won't happen with Xhekaj on the team. What a blessing he is.

@Average Canadian in 2022 Yeah but your beer league is not NHL though. It was great hockey sense from Slafkovsky because he had a great awareness where his opponents are and how much space he got and he did it without hesitation so it was planned. That was a great hockey sense from Slafkovsky. It sounds like you wouldnt recognize a good hockey sense even if it hit you in the face.
I think that talent wise he’ll be a little underwhelming as a #1 pick but there’s no doubt in my mind that he becomes a fan favourite in Montreal. He’s got a ton of heart and is very mature for his age. Him, Mesar, Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Xjakeye, Ghule and Anderson will be a great core for years to come.

Quebecers have very long memories. That goal looks a lot like another very famous Slovak's goal : Peter Stastny is still a legend in Quebec City. This goal looks very similar to a goal Peter Stastny scored in 1978 as Team Czechoslovakia played against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Look it up, it's on RU-vid. It's great that Slafkovsky plays in Montreal where, if he is successful, he will be forever remembered.

From TPS to the big leags! I've had the pleasure to see many of his games live. Every time he touches the puck, its above avarage handling. So sad he couldn't score more in the playoffs :(
I expected montreal would need a season to iron things out and look promising next year, but they seem to have fixed a lot of the problems already. Excited to see how far they can make it this year.
@@PeachRap that's not true at all lol, there's a MASSIVE difference between shaking up the roster/core and rebuilding. That term means a ton when you remove almost all of your key pieces for new pieces and have to fix all the issues and iron out all the problems that come with a brand new team. That's something that is rarely ever done the following season.

Oh yeah. Slaf is gamer, he will be that playoff guy when he matures. More there is on the line, better he plays. Also, he will not be just average power forward, scoring and playmaking ability is there too.
