"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" is a ballad written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell. Originally recorded by Kelly Gordon in 1969, the song became a worldwide hit for The Hollies later that year and a minor hit for Neil Diamond in 1970. In fact Mr. Russell wrote the lyrics while simultaneously suffering from cancer. And it was the last hit he ever wrote, as he died less than six months after its release.

Hello. Most people know this amazing song via The Hollies, and here the immortal Steve Lee sings this song with an incredible empathy and very beautiful. But very few are aware that this song was written by an American soldier during the Vietnam War. When he saw a thin little girl who drew a human from a burning shed, the soldier shouted at her, he died. She turned and said. I love this song and I must say this is a good cover, nothing amazing since the song is pretty much the same, but they certainly didn't ruin it like most covers do :)
