So can you layer lights on top of darks? I see you doing that on the grapes. I like to add highlights to the core value as an addition on top of the base color. I don't like having to predict and leave a light spot for highlights as it seems to look flat. I like the highlight "on top". Well done. I will watch more vids!

Little elves with small fingers... here's a tip for working in gouache... get a can of Krylon workable matt fixative... let each layer of your painting dry thoroughly and then give it a LIGHT spray coating of fixative this will help keep your top layers of paint from disturbing the layers below and is excellent when dropping in the light colored highlights at the end
