Tangail is a district mostly famous for it's Chomchom (চমচম) Sweet and TantSharee (তাঁতের শাড়ী). The city is located just 80km North-West of Dhaka.
If you are new in Tangail then you must know from where you can buy best Sweet or Sharee. In the high way you will find several fake Tangail sweet shop. Their taste and quality is far different from the authentic one.
In Tangail there are three mostly popular sweet shop.

On my way back to Dhaka from Kustia, I had a stopover to Tangail to visit "Gour Ghosh Dadhi and Mistanno Bhandar". From the highway the shop is only 3 km inside the city. I took feedback from several local people and all have said that this is one of the best sweet shop in Tangail.
This is a old classic sweet shop founded by Gour Ghosh. The most popular items of this shop are.
1. Chomchom ( চমচম )
2. Boli Doi ( বলি দই )
3. Rosh Malai ( রসমালাই )
4. Pantoa ( পানতোয়া )
5. Ghee (ঘি)
The price of all items very cheap here. The ChomChom will cost only 250 taka per KG. Sweet Curd is 200 taka per KG. Ghee 900 taka KG .
The shop won many awards and many famous personality visited this shop.The taste and quality is really worthy.
