This is my life's anthem. Listen to it every time I face a formidable challenge - taking a life changing exam, prepping for a job interview, anything that's do or die. Gets me psyched every time!
Absolutely beautiful. This is what trance should be. Not only well audibly presented and uplifting but also visually. It takes you to another place from wherever you are at this moment. Hands down a classic and a favourite in my books.
@DjMattJolly "Ligaya" means "Happiness" in Tagalog, an Austronesian language spoken as a first language by a third of the population of the Philippines. Ferry's wife is from the Philippines ;-) [FC MGMT]
What the flying F???? All these years I'd been listening to Ferry... I just found out now he's married to a filipina... I've always wondered if he traveled to the Philippines and somehow was inspired and titled this classic trance hit... "Ligaya" ... mind blown today...
Dear Ferry, want U listen to somme of my amateur tracks. I can produce so many and various trance amazing melodies ... My computer and my head are full of sound projects but there no one to listen 😓 m.soundcloud.com/kaissous/amazonian-whispers
One of THE best trance songs of all time 💕 The vocals are beautiful, the words so meaningful, with a thunderous backdrop of a beat 💖 Still loving it here in Wales 🏴 xx
I listen this song almost every month since 12 years... One of the most beautiful song EVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR. I think only beautiful inside people can truly love this song.
kinda builds a knot in my throat knowing the days of this wonderful musical era, has long passed...and all we have now, is the ability to revisit it, like revisiting an old house you grew up in, with all the memories still beating within it, somehow.
Jeremy Given Wow... I had no idea! I just checked it out. Beautiful track! Thanks for the tip Jeremy. Will be following this movement all over again. :]
I feel like current trance (sometimes) offers great new opportunities. There are some electro-influenced trance tracks out there that do a great job combining beautiful melodies with the grittier, advanced sounds of nowadays. But I'm really glad Ferry is resurrecting the Gouryella sound! I'd love to see old and new artists/styles working together to reach new heights. Long live trance!
That's not true, John Ewbank is credited on all releases and not Tiësto, since he was he left the "Gouryella" project after the 3rd "Gouryella" track "Tenshi". You can check every "Ligaya" CD and vinyl, John Ewbank is mentioned in the credits. [Ferry Corsten management]
The original Ligaya did not have these vocals and I have to say by including them they definitely added another very enjoyable dimension to the already highly complex track. I’ve seen Ferry countless times and I will never cease to be amazed by just how masterful many of his productions are. Thank you for a LIFETIME. 😊
This is Legit. When Tiesto was in St. Louis, I passed a note to one of the guards to pass on to Tiesto, written on it was this Gouryella. I saw him read it from the crowd, he started smiling, and blasted this tune. Good times.
this was just the second time in my life I watch this video. First time was followed by a run to the next record store. Twenty Years later I heard this song a thousand times, but still remind exactly how much this whole experience shooked me. This Song, this Video, this emotion is a piece of art - love it
this track does the trance scene VERY proud, even people that do not follow trance seem to think this a piece of art, words cant describe what Ligaya does to people when they hear it...simply stunning!!makes me a proud to follow this genre of genius music
So after 12 years, THIS masterpiece from System F aka Ferry Corsten still is probably the best trance track ever produced. Kind of sad, but trance changed to please big room audience. Producers are afraid to return back to the more emotional style of melodies, no longer taking us on a journey, and unfortunetly the master himself Ferry is no exception :(
+MetalGear Black There is still some good trance out there, it's just hard to find. Look up Will Atkinson, The Thrillseekers, Darren Porter, Aly and Fila, Bryan Kearney, Solarstone, Giusseppe Ottavainni, John Askew, John O'Callaghan,...the list goes on
I was introduced to trance thanks to Abercrombie lol. Totally unrelated but , seems like their clothes was better quality back then when they were bumping that trance lol.
Been listening to this tune for 13 years and still say it's one of the best trance tunes I've ever listened to. The days when Trance music was food to the Soul and healed the mind. ☺️ #TRANCE4EVER
tiesto and ferry corsten made a great job working togethet, their songs are amazing. too bad they don't work in present days, i would like to hear something like gouryella.
I really miss these original Trance musics.... Where are those sounds like this nowadays.. The current main stream of Trance music is somewhat like dubstep or just like other branch of electro musics... I don't blame on trance musician. They have their musical trend ...however, I just.. miss the original trance sound like this one ..
+hs880425 John 00 Fleming, Manifestor, Simon Templar, The Digital Blonde, the guys at Pulsar Recordings, Ellez Ria for Trance The guys at NeoGoa, Zion 604, DAT Records, Cronomi, Suntrip, etc. for psytrance. It's still alive. Try John 00 Fleming - Healing and Imperial Echoes of Devastation.
Trance was actually THE mainstream genre in the late 90s and early 00s. Trance was pretty different from it's origins back then. John Smith's suggestions are great btw, listen to it.
This is..... ❤️. Ferry Corsten work whit Tiesto 🤮 but tiesto stopped working he is a fake. Full respect 4 Ferry corsten. Tiesto stole the most of his tracks
This song was made when he got married. That's why it sounds like this and it makes you cry with happiness tears. Only for people with the mental hardware to understand trance.
Back in 2000's this was probably one of the best video trance song ever created. So much imagination, conflict and understanding that comes with experience of trance music.
When rave, club and dj culture had a feeling from 1970's - mid 2000's! And it needs to make it great again by bringing it back to its underground turntablist roots!
AMAAAAAZING!!! It's one of the best trance songs ever made. Times will change but it will be difficult to super things like this. 14 years later it continues to move me and it continues to make me cry with emotion. Thank you for existing.
