In Niger State, North Central Nigeria, the government is striving to boost road construction. The State government has signed 556-kilometre road contracts with 37 construction companies. With that, the State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago is seeking one trillion naira for road construction. Governor Bago stressed that the state has a huge infrastructure deficit, but his administration is poised to construct 2,000 kilometres of roads in the next four years.

Federal allocation should be tied to development like farm/food production and infrastructure. States that refused to do it federal govt.should do those things directly from what should have gone to that state in allocation..That is the only way state can be developed and functional.There has to be something that compels the state governors to do something otherwise they will only work when they feel like it..
