Daniel Perry was sentenced to 25 years in prison last May after a jury found him guilty of murdering Air Force veteran Garrett Foster during a 2020 demonstration against police brutality in Austin.
I'm sure that it was just an oversight on your part to leave out the part that Perry ran a red light and drove into the crowd which puts Foster in the position of self defense. Otherwise, it makes it look like you'd take the side of a bank robber who shoots down a police officer after the police officer points a gun at the bank robber as he leaves the bank.
@@primafacie9721 Approach my truck screaming like a phucking idiot packing a rife and let's see how it works out. There's vids of this clown talking to a reporter packing his AK and talking shyte. He was looking for the smoke and damn well found it..
D.A. accuses Abbott of doing exactly what he's doing. Typical Democrat. Now do the same for Daniel Penny , Derek Chauvin and the others Stop the madness.
Stop defending FIRST DEGREE MURDERERS just because you like their white supremacist politics. It's unAmerican and repulsive to normal people. Hence his conviction by a jury of his peers.
@KenCheeseBro I would normally disagree with this but its insane that he got convicted the guy is on camera running up to his car and aiming some sort of assault rifle at him(AK of some sort) only a kangaroo court would say thats not self defense
@HI-lq4vl typically of a democrat to accuse someone else of the very thing they themselves are guilty of. It's you who doesn't get out much. If you did you'd see that 90% of this nation supports the Texas governor and president Trump.

Normally I don't like it when people get pardoned for stuff like this but come on that was a kangaroo court, the guy he shot was literally aiming an assault rifle at him before being shot
And protesters were mobbing his car. If someone levels a rifle on you when your driving, you'd stomp on it. But the DA would have thrown him in prison for running people over.
Cheers to Gov. Abbot. It's rather rich to hear these people who have put politics above justice and made a mockery of our legal system accusing those who believe in law and order of doing what they do. And it's also interesting how CBS Texas fails to tell viewers that Perry had reasons for fearing for his life.
Let’s just say the “victim” was caught on camera, pointing a ak47 into Perrys car simply because Perry drove through the area minding his own business and got shot for it
@@ladyrose508 that’s idiotic. Both people involved were white number one. number two there’s photo evidence of the guy pointing the rifle into the car.
Any jury that puts a man behind bars for using self defense is not a just jury and they definitely deserve a F U. And from your comment, I bet you do too.
Naw, he said f.u to the violent group and the guy who pulled his weapon on Perry. Don't matter, totally self defense. He was convicted cause he was white.
no GA knew the conviction was wrong and corrected it. it was based on sound mind, written law and common sense. the only thing that GA did wrong is that it took him so long to make the correction, DP never should have spent a nite in jail at all
I agree wholly with the governor's action and the board's decision. The major cities in Texas, Dallas, Houston, Austin, are attempting to change Texas. The must be a way to prevent major cities from perverting what was and still is great.
@@Choppermv17 you do know that governor and presidential pardons are in both the state and federal constitutions right? They are just as legitimate as a jury conviction
The lead detective in the Daniel Perry case has signed an affidavit stating he was was directed to eliminate exculpatory evidence he intended to present during his testimony to the Grand Jury. Sounds totally legit. /sarc
Details are Mr. Perry was an Uber driver trying to make extra money while he was in the army. He was driving in downtown Austin during the "summer of love 2020" and a violent BLM/ANTIFA activists surround Mr. Perry's car and the violent criminal raised an AK-47 at Mr. Perry and he fired his weapon at the criminal
@@23mrcash there's also literal photos of him pointing the AK at the dudes car. People in these comments are denying it. Perry was only convicted because he was tried in very blue Austin
Ummm no what it says is people like Garrett foster can't point a gun at someone driving on the road trying to escape a mob surrounding his car. Do the world a favor and actually do research before sharing your opinions.
Literally if the jury found this man guilty why are yall riding for him saying he did nothing wrong obviously the people who looked at this case WHO WERE FROM TEXAS thought this man didn't do it in self defense...

.... Convicted of murdering an armed man who aimed a rifle at him as the group with the armed man accosted his vehicle. The title doesn't match the pardon if the title is misleading.
the cops point rifles at people all the time. I had a cop point a rifle at me during a traffic stop when i was like 12. they were searching for a guy and set up a checkpoint and were checking all the cars. i had to get out of the car and open the trunk at gunpoint as a small child in a rural NC town. and we consider cars lethal weapons. if he was threatening people with his car it stands to reason youd brandish your gun. and the guy had messages saying he wanted to go out there and hurt people. it was premeditated.
I'm just here for the obligatory comments claiming racism in this case. Then seeing how people will not correct their course of thinking when they find out the details of the people involved.
best part of your inane tripe spewing is that you think this type of wanton corruption is going to come knocking on your door with a giant check and a commemorative plaque later on LOL see you in the pit bra
Details are not as important as the narrative that’s why the news only refers to him as a “protestor” they want you to assume he was black and unarmed.
Perry admitted his guilt in murdering Foster when he applied for the pardon. You are just happy that a murderer was released because you didn't like the victim.
Let’s not allow people to carry rifles of this size and caliber if it’s going to be this much of an issue. If all you have to do is claim self defense, and put enough doubt on the matter of whether the rifle was aimed or not, then let’s not have them in public or even protests ever. Keep them at home or at the range. If in public, it stays in a case.
@@rad_lad_2715 did he? Do you have absolute proof he did because there is no proof. Unless you were there and have photo. Go for it man. Bring us the proof. Plus you have no reason to be carrying it around like that. It clearly only escalates the situation. Also a jury found Perry guilty.
@@tyler3201 it's funny you should mention a photo, because if you type up "Garrett Foster points gun" on Google there is in fact a photo of him pointing an AK at the vehicle Penny was in while right next to his driver side door. Id link it if RU-vid allowed outside links
Controversial?? Ok. Aren’t we all so proud to be an American!! With liberty and justice for all….remember that pledge of allegiance crap. And it’s crap, don’t kid yourself.
its literally the opposite. justice was served and the governor said "nope" dude litterally had messages saying he was going to go out there hurt people. it was premeditated.
I stand with the black lives matter movement ✊🏾✊🏽. The guy may have been pardoned but there’s of course still a court of public opinion. I can’t see him getting off easy. Employers will find out that he’s a suspected white nationalist and a formerly convicted killer (even if it was self defense) and no way would a business want to hire someone like him. So I’m not really upset about the whole thing so no need to tell me to “cope” or “seethe”
Nope. Not only does the pardon nullify the conviction, it nullifies the charges. It’s as though the initial investigation determined Perry did right, which he did.
@@jaysonstrand9160 "court of public opinion" Buddy why do you think Penny was pardoned. So many people across the state were advocating for his pardon that the governor actually did it. As long as he stays out of the very blue large cities he'll be fine and probably celebrated
