Goyard Tote From the Thrift Store?! 🤯Let’s Authenticate Together! 

I found a blue Goyard tote from my local thrift store, the texture feels bumpy like a real one, but I could tell it was a fake within a few seconds by the stitching. I bought it anyway because I always wanted a Goyard tote for several years (I've learned about the brand back in 2010). I will just use it for running errands, farmers market trips, park, or beach! Also, if you want it to look authentic to the unsuspecting eyes, put together a cute outfit with other authentic designer pieces (shoes, glasses) that are subtle, but not gaudy looking. You will pull it off

Enjoy that bag because it is beautiful and a well-made replica. I would say it is a 1:1 replica. Do not alter the bag. Don't feel guilty.

Keep it! The bag is gorgeous and you get your money’s worth! The original has the same material actually. Only difference is the craftsmanship and how it has undergone some quality control. But I had several original ones that had cracked leather with less than a year of use and sending them back to the store for repairs was a hassle! At least with a thrift store bag you have less worries and use it to the max because it is not a museum piece, lol!

I have that same bag. I bought it on Amazon as an "inspired by" because the photos didn't say Goyard on the bags (assorted colors available) , so it was obviously not meant to be passed off as a real one. When it arrived, it DID have the Goyard writing on it. The straps didn't have as long of a drop as I would have liked and I tried to return it. It came from China and apparently it was more costly to have me return it to them than the bag costs itself, so I was credited AND told to keep the bag and not send it back. So I got it for free. And honestly, I have never used it outside the house. I use it to hold other bags and wallets and things in my closet LOL.

Hi, it is very good replica I thought at first it was authentic. I bought mine recently in GM (new prices from 1st August - no more ‘special colours’) and it looks same shining like this one. The straps are different on authentic- much thinker and stiff (at least when new). I have a feeling there is too much of ‘E. Goyard Paris’ everywhere - I don’t think mine has so often printed them out. The reason why they don’t last is that ppl carry laptops or other heavy itdms in this bag. It is not designed for this purpose- its a beach bag. Goyardine is too thin for that.

I could tell this was a dupe from the way it’s pretty stiff. The real ones are way more flimsy and floppy. But 5 bucks, I think adding stickers or some art is a good idea for a beach bag 👍🏽

I noticed the 3 logos on one side are placed at the top edge, whereas the other side has the 3 logos lower. Both sides should be symmetrical. However no one will notice once you wear it. Just make sure to wear it on the side where the top logos are lower.

It is environmentally friendly to just use the bag or send it back. Burning it would be a waste of a perfectly functional bag.

I would use it for storage. I 100% agree with you about fake bags. They’re most often tied to other illegal activities that are far worse. I wouldn’t burn it as that’s not good for the environment. I’m sure if the lady looking at the bags had recognized the Goyard logo she would have definitely picked it up. For $5 it was definitely worth checking out. I followed a RU-vidr who would thrift here in Canada and she quite often found authentic pieces. I remember she would find lots of Bottega Venetta slgs. At the time BV was not as popular and I hadn’t even heard of them.😂 You just never know what you’ll find. I can’t imagine donating a luxury bag when you can sell them for good money. I hope one day you will find a real treasure. As for Goyard, they don’t have a good reputation for wearing well.

No please don’t burn bags, it’s just a waste of resources. Just give it someone to use as a grocery bag. Most people don’t even know what Goyard is.

I definitely understand where you’re coming from but I think you should keep it and use it. You did not set out with the intention of buying a fake handbag so I think now that you have it you should just use it. It’s actually a very well done replica and Goyard’s are outrageously priced for what you actually get. Very well done video!

Girl as soon as I saw how perfect the print was I knew it wasnt an auth goyard. The authentic ones are hand painted, so each little dot is unique. I can spot a fake goyard real easily but it takes a careful and close eye. I rarely ever get close enough to authenticate someones bag in the wild! lol Use the bag, don't feel bad. Material items are just that

I knew this was fake at 2:02. It's a terrible replica. The E. Goyard, 233 R S Honore Paris Paris Y placement is all wrong. That is all you need to see to know this is a bad fake. Still LOVED this video. These educational videos are so helpful.

Isabelle from Isabelle’s Style has a few totes from another brand that she really loves. I can’t remember the brand right now but it has a very rich history as well and I’m sure the quality is better than the Goyard. If I remember I’ll let you know.

I think you should keep it. It looks great on you and frankly, it looks very sturdy. I have heard that this particular style is meant to be a beach bag and not meant for every day use. I don't like fake bags, but the quality of many of today's luxury items has gone downhill. I would have kept it and used it as a travel bag for car trips.

I could tell Right away that this is a fake only with the handles. I can see it is not real leather and they are not thick enough. That is a cheep replica … 🤷‍♀️ I am being honest 😘
