A lot of people are hoping the broken promises from GP Gliders will be realised...............

@@soaruk3697 Yes, I am one of those. Feels more like a ponzi scheme than a glider company. It also seems like they were the first to attempt the electric self launch and they will be the last to finish, if they finish.

@@johngonzalez6555Przykra sprawa... Udany marketing to były szybowce Swift i Fox.

I really, really like this glider, I might buy one in 2-3 years or so, when I retire from my job and have more time for gliding! Specs and performance figures on the website are awesome! But I wonder how the company is doing, as there is not much news on the website... Last news is about the 'Upgrade' to a GP 15 Jeta Plus version as a ULM certified Glider that needs a new wing, this was in 2022, what has that done to the performance and handling of this beautiful glider? Did GP sell more of these gliders the past 2-3 years?.. It looks like the company has been standing still since this video and no gliders are sold at all, which is weird with such specs and much better price as the big companies Schleicher, Schempp Hirth, Jonkers (Jonkers JS3 RES I had a look at, until I looked at the price!). No communication is also communication, but of the bad type! There must be some news to share, isn't it?

Nice to see some life signs from you - how are you getting through the crisis? Is production compromised or going as planed? Can you tell us more about the fire extinguisher for the electrical/Battery system? How is the GPT3 coming along? Will there be a possibility for a TestFlight in Germany? Can you uphold the delivery dates? As you see - so many questions - and sadly very little public communication. Not even some proactive information for people who ordered one of you gliders.

Is the electric engine system available, so as to adapta it to other gliders?
@FreedZ
@FreedZ Год назад
Not this kind of electric system. It's already outdated as gliders like the LAK 17c or Silent 2 can do self launches with a FES System

@MarcoNierop

@@FreedZ Actually this is an itteration of the FES, Schempp Hirth came out with a Ventus 3E just a few weeks ago using a RES, Schleicher has the new AS33 Me and AS34 Me with a RES, and Jonkers also came out with a JS3 Rapture with a RES. HpH also suprized at the Aero Friedrichshafen 2024 with a 304 Shark prototype with a RES. Schempp Hirth has a Ventus FES for some time now, and also this company GP Gliders had the GP 11 Pulse with a Fes (13.5 meter glider) for many years. So the FES is actually old, the RES systems are new! A RES system has the advantage the prop and engine is completely stowed away in the fuselage and does not add to the drag coefficient. No matter how snugly the FES prop fits on the nose, it does add a bit of drag to the aircraft, especially the nose of the aircraft is susceptible to that as it propagates over the whole fuselage.. A RES has the advantage the prop will never get into a ground strike, which is a concern with the FES when used as a self launcher only inches from the ground.. one rabit hole and you are done for the day. A RES has the advantage to use more powerful motors with bigger props (however that does not seem to be applicable to this GP 15 JETA) A RES can have the most optimized prop design, with a FES the prop needs to snugly fit on the fuselage nose, which restricts the design of the prop to something less optimal. Ground clearance restricts the prop size of a FES. Take off run with a FES is very long due to the small prop, with a RES it is just 150-200 meters. Certification of the FES as a self launcher seems problematic, SH tries to certify the Duo Discus FES as a self launcher, but has not succeeded yet. The Ventus FES is a self launcher but required a new landing gear so it had enough ground clearance.

Looked at it full screen on a 1080P 40" TV.... I think you are mistaken the shade of the lowered flaps as a partly closed wheel door. The 2 darker stripes are probably cooling vents for the power electronics.

Have any customers actually received a glider? Deposits paid 5 years ago still awaiting delivery of an actual production glider. 😠
@KarlHuber-uu6yf

same here - deposit paid. They are trying to restrucure the company now and transfer the activities to a new company. Will take time. Whether the GP15 Jeta will ever be realized as a DULV certified glider, nobody knows...the odds to get a glider or the money back are not good...
@karlhuber2818
@karlhuber2818 Год назад
well, it seems they are bankrupt although they call it "restructuring"... lots of talking about the top class performance the glider will have. But obviously they can't get it certified neither by the DULV nor by EASA. They built the plane first and thought then about certification...not the smartest way to handle a complex project like that.
@MarcoNierop

I sent them an email in August 2023 and got a prompt answer from Jerzy Peszke, They have a target of 2024/2025 for the ULM certification of the Jeta+, Base price €137.400.- available in about 2 years... So should become available in about a little more than a year from today, but as with all projects these days, probably a delay of about 6-12 months should be expected. Btw, GP Gliders did have a stand at the AERO Friedrichshafen 2024, just a few weeks ago... So they at least act as alive 🙂 and may have gathered a few more orders plus deposits. But changing the certification to ULM cert could indeed indicate the first design was just not possible to get it through CS22 certification, probably too much focused on the performance but not so much on the handling, like spin recovery, stall speed and such,.. But lets see what they come up with in a year. The gliders look and perform amazing, so there should be a market for this for glider pilots that cannot afford the usual suspects, this little glider may fit a niche. I have looked at the MiniLAK FES, but the lackluster performance is holding me off, plus the prop in the nose makes it a prop ground strike magnet! it would not be a big improvement of what I currently have.
