A small gathering at the GPAA Placer Pete claim in San Bernardino CA. I met a few fellow You-Tubers and quite a few fellow prospectors. Every one got some gold. Special thanks to Shane Williams from 'TREASURE TRAIN' • TREASURE TRAIN ep072 c... Shane showed his find and invited everyone to dig at his spot. Thanks again Shane.
5 drywashers were running dirt from one spot. A little crowded but we managed just fine to share and enjoy the company of others. Thank you all for coming out and I hope we have more gatherings like this in the near future.

Ive never been to Placer Pete. Looks like a good claim. I always here good things about it. Probably check it out once it cools off a bit!

I was able to dig in the same hole this weekend and did pretty fair I posted a report on the GPAA site I just dug the soft stuff at the bottom of your guises hole still had plenty of gold a lot of fun. Love your videos man keep them coming

what's up boss was great to meat you got me a NEW golf monster from pat keene went to rattle snake canyon with shane the next weekend (yucca valley) for a day and went and meet with pat to buy my gold monster learning having fun in the dirt was a nice day out there first time trying dry washing have a good day

@@weekendprospector9787 cool let me know I will bring the gold monster let you try it with shane's settings I was horsing around with the placer gold I always have (.16 of a gram) and it was sounding off small amount most detectors can't pick it up to small have a good day

Nice job new you do better this time you did an excellent job explaining where you are at and how you were getting the gold looked like a lot of fun I was out metal detecting that day saw you guys over their work in I was hoping that if I found any gold I would come over and say hello but by the time I got done dig in a 120 plus targets of junk and no gold I was pooped and discouraged I went home I was looking forward to your video though hope to see out there get some time and Nice Gold!👏😁

Go to the GPAA website and just copy and paste the coordinates given for the Placer Pete claim into Google maps or whatever navigation you use. They might not have rights to the claim. I dont know. The main website should have everything you need to know. If you're a GPAA member it will give you access to information guests are not. Good luck finding everything your looking for and good luck out on the claims.

Nice trip! What area is this claim at? How far from San Diego?

Barstow. 3 and a half hours drive give or take depending on traffic. Become a GPAA member and get access to all the claims in the area.

As a GPAA member you have access to information on every claim. The Placer Pete claim is in San Bernardino county CA. They have the Heybuddy 10 claim just minutes away from there. Both claims have their potential. Definitely an excellent choice for a weekend prospecting trip. Maybe we'll meet out that way sometime. Welcome to prospecting and good luck on your trips. You've got some good times ahead of you. 🙂

So I'm not really familiar with the desert, are all of you drywashing because you have to or because you want to. I realize you would clearly have to bring water but I think I'd prefer recirculating a water system. I'm just not sold on the drywashing deal.

Hey Jason. To answer your question, drywashing is just the preferred way in the desert. Recirculating systems are great but require too much water. It's just easier to drywash. Have fun out there how ever you want. There is no wrong way to have fun prospecting. Having fun is the most important part of any of my trips whether it be to the river or desert. Just go get your dig on. I wish you heavy pans and a great time.

You're not getting a lot of Black sands so you therefore will not get it got to be on the right spot also you don't have a metal detector I would be scanning all of that that you scattered on the ground for possible gold nuggets

There was alot of black sands and we run the metal detector over everything when we're done.
