Hello! I have a problem my gpd win while I was updating the bios to unlock it is blocked and now the blue light remains at the bottom and on the screen I do not see anything, how can I do it ????
I have the GPD Win with the metal top and the Z8750 processor. System Information in Windows reports that the BIOS is from 5/25/2017. Is there a newer version of the BIOS? If so, where do I download it?
can you pls send me a link? i have right now a gpd win with 8700 with fan and the new bios but i really cant find the last open bios for my one to download. do you have one? Thankx :)
Hi, when i open the update file the screen goes red and nothing happens, i tried several times, any ideas? Also the battery holds only 40 minutes, crazy
I'd still like to see if you can run Remix OS, since you're going to check out Linux as well. Even from USB or the MicroSD just to see how functional it is.
Hi! I think that I Broke my Win :( i modified a setting about Memory (not the gpu Memory) and now dont start, even the fan dont run, I push the power button, blinks one time in blue and then illuminates in Red and nothing more, I have a solution or i must start crying? :(
Thanks for the video The Phawx ... I just get my GPD Win and I want to ask you if at this time it´s recommendable update the bios and if we can get better performance on the GPD Win at this momment ... I hope you can answer to make the decision to do it and to know if this version is the most recommendable 20161025 or 20170320 or even if a newer exists... Thanks a lot !
What is the latest version of the BIOS? I recently obtained the model with the Z8750 CPU. In System Information, it says the version is 5.11 5/25/2017. Is this the latest version? If not, where do I obtain the newest file? Will this fix the issue I'm having where the device turns off if Windows is put into sleep mode? This is extremely annoying. I set Windows to hibernate when I close the lid to get around the issue.
I have a new GPD WIN (Z8750) can i install a old BIOS with the advanced BIOS settings from the "old" Z8700? or what version with advanced settings works on the Z8750?
Okay I believe I'm going crazy. I updated my BIOS because I was lacking the advanced options. I flashed it to all three versions available from the GPD Win official website, and none of them provided me with the answers I seek. I am still unable to access my advanced settings as I want to tweak some settings. I know this video is a little old, but could you please provide me with some assistance regarding this matter?
Now there's a third version. After 10th of January they've started releasing a new model with a matt plastic. AND a very, VERY simplified BIOS with pretty much no tweak capability. I know, because my unit had driver crash problem and I got the new model as a replacement... So, I wonder if it's a good idea to flash a different BIOS on this new unit?
ThinBear4 I definitely like the feel of the new version but does suck that the bios is so simplified, but I guess they did that to prevent people from bricking their devices
Nah, didn't touch it yet. I'd rather prefer not to risk wrecking my unit until someone on the web checks that it can be done safely, with certainty. I've waited too long for this thing to break it in the end xD
ThinBear4 I actually just did it bc the auto dimming of the screen was driving me batshit insane, and can only be changed in the buos. Was fairly quick and painless and my device is still working. Who knows if itll brick it eventually (though i made sure to make only a few bios changes)
CPU COFIGURATION of me is " 362 " , and of you CPU COFIGURATION is " 40a " , tell me , What is wrong? This update BIOS fix restart when charging ? (i can't restart when charging) , my version GPD WIN 8700
Error 7:Hardware sewuencing failed.Make sure that you have acces to target flash area!Triying to erase the same block Failed to erase this block 3 times!!! 1 Neo 0 echo Filed to flash the 1 st part I got this message in the middle of the update and the screen is red. What should I do now? If I turn off the computer, will not it open again?
Yiğit Alp Karakaş If it says failed to erase the block, that error says to me that it didn't do anything. Are you running the correct version to replace the BIOS? Are you running it as Administrator?
so I checked everything and the cable was fine. In fact I'm able to turn the volume up and down using those keys. But when I go to the actual keyboard to type it does not register anything. I also remove the ribbon cable to see if the volume keys stopped working and in fact they stop working. Meaning that the pc does recognize the cable. I'm really confuse and I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice?
Alright then. I've already had enough issued today so I'll have to put off doing that. While I have you, you've been in direct contact with GPD before correct? I want to know what the best way to contact them is. Long story short, I accidentally tore the cable that connects the fan to the fan switch. For now I've forced the fan to be always on at max, but I'd like to try and get a replacement.
This one adds TPM which will break Windows from booting. You need to go into the BIOS and disable it. I don't recommend updating your BIOS unless there is a good reason to do so.
DO *NOT* SUGGEST GEEKBUYING!!! They've been reports of this site's owners outright scamming the customers! If you get a defective device, there's a very good chance they will NOT honor the warranty.
So, this should work on my july (or june, I don't remember xd) revision? I mean, I downloaded the bios from this link : sil-log.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/WINDOWS_F1T4-20161025.rar
