If your hunting Gold Nuggets in WA's outback, you want the best gear you can afford. I 'try' and run through the pro's and con's of the new 6.

Finally a decent review of the 6k. It’s been my first detector so I don’t know any better, it’s found me over an ounce of gold in NSW. So many people complain about it. I guess I got lucky.

Not a bad detector at all, don't be afraid to experiment with those coils and setting you might like what you find, have some fun with it, better yourself. Happy digging.

I know this is an older vid. New to your channel. What I've been doing my own research and everything you just said actually matches up to what I'm seeing too. Thanks for the USA

I love my 7000 but the weight is a issue after swinging it for 3-4 days straight. After checking out the weight of a 6000 I was like wow there sure is a difference there! but still yet to give one a run and compare it out bush. And your right with the EMI on the 7000 cos I have never really noticed it much unless its a really overcast day or there is lighting off in the distance. I think for the older folks who may have back pains or issues and don't want it to get worse, then a 6000 would be the way to go.

I have the 6 and 7000 the 6000 is amazing at finding really small gold and loud and clear it’s only downside is depth the 6000 finds more gold but the 7000 gets the deeper stuff if I was a beginner the 600 would be the best .for the more professionals you would have both

Great review. I changed to a 6k after a 7000 after a heart issue and was faced with the fact I could not detect and dig the monster holes in Victoria. Changed to the 6000 and although I dont dig the monster holes ( usually for a spoon) I fell good after a day digging. I loved my 7000 but reality hits home. Cheers and hope to get over there to join your course. HH

My 6 came with a cigarette lighter charger, 240V and alligator clip charger in the box (bought it roughly 3 months ago). Couldn't agree more with everything else you said. Been detecting for over 10 years. I do miss having more manual control however hard to argue when it starts sucking up the yella. Just don't get me started on that annoying freaking shaft!

my biggest gripe is the ergonomics and the look of a 8k machine when they (minelab) already have developed the ctx 3030 that looks like the gpz7000 and has alot of the 7000 features, has the coil lead inside the shaft and is a smart looking machine for less than 3k yet the gpx 6000 for 8k has a flimsy round shaft that you cannot get tight enough and shit coils
@goldtalkleonora6881
@goldtalkleonora6881 2 года назад
G'day Greg...some good comments there that I hadn't thought of (lead inside the shaft)....I find the mono coil good enough and doubt I would pay for aftermarket coils....but then I use machinary for extra depth!

i kinda disagree its is ergonomic light and minimalistic your not paying for plastic and excess bagage your paying the the tech...

That’s a pretty good video no wanking around I’ve got a six it’s a awesome machine only had one problem the 11 inch died and another thing is if I’m out by myself the speaker needs to be facing the coil I do use the headphones but like not using them to .my poor seven sits in the corner collecting dust 😂

Good honest review, thank you. It would be nice to see a comparison between the 6000 and a sdc2300 with a larger NF or Coiltek coil. I’m suspicious that the 6000 is a non waterproof version of the SDC 2300 with more adjustments.

From what I seen over here in the west is the bloody hot rocks and ground noise they pick up …I will stick to the mighty 5000 ..booster speaker and right coil we still pick up tiny pieces ..and deeper pieces..only rock we get is big bits of iron stone ..but each to their own ..

You need to give the DD coil a go. You will be surprised how sensitive it is on small targets while removing emi considerably and giving you salt ground capabilities. Find a small target and swap to the DD coil to try it. It's like the old DD coil in mono mode trick on a 4500. It only detects on the left hand side of the coil. Trust me, its the sleeper coil. The 6000 does take a long time to charge! Must have a second (or third and fourth) battery if detecting multiple days at a time. My only complaint of the 6000 is they put the ground type button where the noise cancel button should have been. Stubby finger idiots like me keep pressing the ground type button when doing a noise cancel (which you need to do often!) and end up digging false tagets for the next 5 minutes until you realise you changed the ground to normal instead of difficult. I'll be over in Leonora in a few months with my 6 for my first WA experience so your video is perfect timing. Can't wait! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Hi Scott...we may get around to it at some stage but for us if we miss out on a bit of bip time it's not a prob as we have heaps to do. That being said, the EMI problem is not that big anyway. Lisa lost only a few days out of 6 months! and there are days when you can't really use the other detector as well.
@Alan-xr2zp
@Alan-xr2zp 2 года назад
You onto something mate about that double D because inactual fact it might NOT be a true DD, it works just aswell as the mono and has two more controls in it than the mono thats why its the back up coil, not a bad detector is the six.
@sc0tt500
@sc0tt500 2 года назад
@@Alan-xr2zp I've seen an x-ray of the DD coil and it has all the windings on the left hand side and what looks like just 1 loop on the right.
@Alan-xr2zp
@Alan-xr2zp 2 года назад
@@sc0tt500 yes mate its a good thing up to 8 inches quiet as a mouse picking .2 of a gram be sure to slow your pace right down but, J.P explains the DD in his post on the 17 inch mono pretty much the windings are set up for the two extra settings
@MrGef12
@MrGef12 Год назад
The DD is not a true dd as used with the earlier minelab..The 6K DD is used in cancel mode ..hence why sensitive side is the left..and why it knocks out EMI. I prefer to usevthe 11inch as is most senstive even compared to after market coils ..if too much emi about a wack the gain / sensitivity back ..even thou u may loose a tad on sibnal strength. Yes have more than 1 battery ..makes good sense. Cheers VktekSolutions 👍

Metal detecting is on its way out for the week ender. Unless you have machinery it’s only gonna get harder and harder to find gold on public land.

@@goldtalkleonora6881 that’s what I’m saying. The gold fields on public land are thrashed in most the states. But detectors are still relevant for mining, and Victoria hates anyone who wants to mine.

Thick brush, use 7000. No brush, use 6000. Water, no deeper than arm length, use 6000 with water proof coil tech, GoldHawk coil. Deep water, use sdc2300. Tiny surface nuggets, with perfect detecting conditions, use Nox800. My personal experience. Dig Doug Dig
