GPZ 7000, 5000 & 4500 on a deep target.

Digging with PhaseTech

A few years back, out in Victoria's golden triangle with a few mates, and a mate digs deep for a bit of brass pipe. It was the deepest hole of the trip so we were keen to run a few detector/coil combos over it to see how they performed. We start with the hole open, then bury it and swing again. Not a proper shootout or comparison type test but I found some of the results interesting.

Great Video guys! It would be great to see when videos like this are made if you started sweeping say 1 meter before the target so we can get a picture of the ground noises around the target using the different settings. Cheers Guys keep up the good work

Thanks. I usually do that when a new detector is released as everyone wants to know how they run.

Love your videos, so few people understand that it's the timings that make all the difference, not the other minor tweaks.

Thanks for your comment. In my opinion, Coil selection + Timings dictate 90% of the performance.

I still running my 4500 with a variety of coil types Mono & DD and sizes depending on the ground I am in & also weather conditions etc… it is still finding the deep gold… 😊! If I had to choose a coil: the coiltek elite coils it seems to run the best on my 4500 with amazing sensitivity🏆👍 ✅Always love your Videos! Cheers!

Happy to hear the 4500 is still pulling the gold.

Great video! I recently picked up a 7000. I also have a 4500 with a 25" NF advantage mono, 17x13 NF EVO, 14x9 Coiltek Elite and 8" Commander. Haven't had a chance to get out and play with the 7000 yet. Videos like this are going to help me decide which one to keep. I don't use one enough to justify owning two. Thank you and keep them coming.

Thanks! Best way to test is to go detecting, then mark targets before disturbing the ground. Then try the other machine. Make sure you take turns with which detector finds the target initially.

Qual a diferença entre o 4500. 4800.?

Nice to see your post and random test on the small pipe. I still run the 4500 and have found that running it in enhanced is my best setting for the ground I work. When I put it into normal setting the ground mineralization just plays havoc with the machine. In enhanced it the threshold tone runs smooth.
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech Год назад
Thanks for your comment. Yes Enhance is usually the go in most goldfields, especially with mono coils. The 4500 can still punch very deep and run smooth when you combine Normal with a bigger DD coil.

Interesting video. I still love my 5000 and will be hanging on to it for a while yet. Getting ready to head down to the GT now, should be there in a week. Thanks mate.

Even tho it was on a buried target it still proved the point what few have been saying for a very long time dont sell your 5000 if your chasing big deep targets with large coils. A s/h gpx is around 3k now great value and proven detector on large gold in victoria the zed has a wish washy signal response.
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech Год назад
Yes the 5000 signal response is excellent on deep targets. On the 7000, General and even Extra Deep are much better than High Yield on bigger more solid targets at depth.

First edition 4500 with elite coil 14 running headphones 300 ohms titanium drivers inserted into Koss ur30,s works better than my 5 or 7 .used the nugget finder 12 and 18 inch coiltek elite always back to the 14 elite. Had a 5 went back to an early aussie made 4500 running enhance having more luck .

Thanks for your comment. The 4500 with 14" elite was a little lacking in this video but it could have been settings? (Wasn't my unit). I love my early 4500. My favorite coils for it are the 12" Evo, 17x13" Evo spoked, and 16" Advantage NF. The 15" Detech Super Deep mono is also an excellent coil, just a little heavier.

Looks like the 5000 with the 17x13 is the winner here. I've recently purchased a 2nd hand 5000 with a few nugget finder coils (24x12", 15" & 14x9") -- do you think it'd still be worth me getting a 17x13"?
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech Год назад
Nice one. The 15 and 17x13 are very close in performance. The 15 can have a bit more depth on larger targets, but for most of the smaller stuff I find the 17x13 has a sharper response. Also easier to pin-point with, especially on a deeper dig.
@MandurahRC
@MandurahRC Год назад
Off load the 3 off them get the 17"x13" and also the 12" . I have picked up to .6 of a gram with the 17x13 @ around 100-150 mill I never take it off my GPX 5000 great for pin pointing. good luck

Boa tarde Nenad, quais são as melhores configurações pro 5000, em solo bastante minerelizado? E também pra uma boa profundidade? Aguardo sua resposta, e desde de já, muitíssimo obrigado.

Try general and low threshold on the 7000.
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech 2 месяца назад
General yes, I like it for bigger targets. Not a fan of Low threshold - I've trained my ears to listening for those faint variations.

What is the maximum depth of the gpx 5000 on a target measuring 25 cm x 25 cm
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech Год назад
No idea, but I'd take a guess, with a really big coil, you might see it at 4-5 feet.

@@diggingwithphasetech You could reach a Coiltek 22 dish to this depth
@melbournesubtropicfruits9474
Its a shame you didnt go to Normal on Z - especially on the 19in as well as trying Nugget Finder too - maybe next time?
@diggingwithphasetech
@diggingwithphasetech Год назад
That ground was way too hot to even think about Normal. To get the Z19 running nicely I was in General Difficult and Sensitivity around 5. We just wanted to compare the machines in the settings we were running.
@melbournesubtropicfruits9474
@@diggingwithphasetech thats very good going to 5 sensitivity - even tho its extremely noisy in hot ground in a spot im still pulling bits from i actually go alot between normal & difficult to remove hot rock syndrome till i hear it in difficult - obviously mine are small shallow but your doing deeper and larger in this. Looked at your 5yo video and you did exactly what im doing fir that deep rust nuggy but good test.

Zed never does well through air, and always better on an undug target. From memory the sensitivity was very low as it had been raining a lot and ground was super noisy.
