GR Bass has recently added a new series of cabinets to their lineup, in addition to their existing series of wooden speaker cabinets and the ultra-light carbon fiber Aerotech cabinets.
The new series of cabinets is called Natural Fiber, because of the eco-friendly recycled material it is made of and the earthy color scheme used.
In this video, we join TMA guitar & bass specialist Vincent over his morning coffee to get a closer look at the material used. Starting at 3:28 we also hear some clean and overdrive bass tones, played with fingers and with a pick, to get a sense of the mighty tones this lightweight 2x12" cab can produce.
A GR Bass One 800 was the amplifier used for the sound demos.
A Sennheiser MK4 condenser microphone was used on axis on one of the 12" speakers (the tweater is off).
The bass is a Sire Marcus Miller P-style, the overdrive comes from a Fish Circuits Model One Overdrive and an Xotic Bass RC Booster.

GR Bass heeft onlangs een nieuwe serie luidsprekerkasten aan hun assortiment toegevoegd, naast hun bestaande serie houten speakerkasten en de ultralichte koolstofvezel Aerotech-kasten.
De nieuwe serie heet Natural Fiber, vanwege het milieuvriendelijke gerecyclede materiaal waarvan het is gemaakt en het aardse kleurenschema dat gebruikt wordt.

Vanaf 3:28 horen we ook wat cleane en overdrive bastonen, gespeeld met vingers en met een plectrum, om een idee te krijgen van de machtige tonen die dit lichtgewicht 2x12" cabinet kan produceren.
