I completely agree. As a daily and potentially your only car, the Corolla fills all the boxes. Especially being a hatchback it can haul stuff and haul ###.😂
So to summarize, if you are in that high tax bracket but cant reach to the Euro brands then then one of these is your best bet. If you know youre intimately familiar with a race track, get the Supra. If you want to be able to live with your car off the track and know youre going to use it as intended, get the Corolla.
Hello from California! I’ve driven on that road when I visited back in 2014! And I just picked up a gr corolla last night! It’s like a newer version of my evo 9
Maaan! "Naturally", as a Bimmer nutcase, I like the engine in the Supra (B58). But I also like the practicality of the Corolla GR. In light of the paradigm shift of EU OEMs taking us for a completely automated ride 😭. If one could avoid buying food over the next 3 years, I'd buy the Corolla and fit it with the B58. Problem solved. How I wish though! 😅🙂😁
Great review, guys! I'm curious as to why this "Circuit Edition" GR Corolla doesn't have vents on the bonnet, especially considering it appears to have all the other "Circuit Edition" features, such as the black boot spoiler and carbon roof. That said, to truly be a daily driver contender, Toyota might need to produce a version with a DCT. If they price it competitively, it could outsell the new Golf R, especially now that VW's interior quality seems to be on par with Toyota's.
There have been a few variations of the Circuit Edition. I took delivery of mine at the end of May. It didn’t have the vented bonnet and big boot spoiler. There are even more differences with US Spec vs what we get in SA. We don’t get heated seats, JBL premium sound system, blind spot monitoring and the 19 inch pilots. I suppose it would be priced over a bar if it came with all those features.
@@kesinadas1491 Thanks for the clarification! One can do without those extras. I've always considered heated seats to be overrated in SA; I can probably count the times I've used them on one hand!
Thanks for this comparison. I am stuck between which one I want more, and while the Supra has always been a dream car of mine, I think Toyota understands how important the car is for the brand and will bring it back at some point and that maybe I should go with the more practical daily driver with the GR Corolla
¿Será que quisieron revivir al famoso corolla Ae86 en esta versión GR? Según tengo entendido ese corolla rivalizo con algunas grandes marcas ya que sacaba provecho en las curvas.
The power of filming a car going at 60km/h and have the the viewers think you driving at 120 is amazing I truly believe that the GR Corrolla and keep up with the Supra 😬
Jdm toyota supra big engine but not perfect like mitsubishi lancer evolution, better nissan gtr than toyota supra because nissan more faster ,mitsubishi lancer perfect ultimate driving performance
@@georgethabethe4265 its way faster and handles much better than a gti? its also more complicated running 25psi of boost and is awd? I don't think you know what your talking about.
Blah blah blah. The supra kills it on a track and in a straight line. the bias in this video is laughable. Not everyone drives on roads that kill you if you make a mistake.
