Absolutely loved the backyard bench! It just amazes me that this is now considered cool to do. Back in the 60s-70s it was thought of to be trashy or poor to make your furniture or decorations out of whatever. Anyone remember the old cable spools that were sometimes left on a highway? Made a decent table didn't it 😁
Yes the old cable spoils. We used to have several. Parents spray painted them and we had an outdoor table with chairs 😁. We also had picnic tables as well. We would lay out in the sun on those lounging chairs that had weaved straps or tubelike plastic that always broke lol.
Cute! If some minor adjustments are made to be sure the lid closes tight this would be a cute addition to a camping trip as a functional cooler/ seat/ or as intended here storage.
And what happens to ur cute ottoman when someone sits on it CRUSHED. Save urself the wasted time effort and embarrassment and use something more sturdy
I have 2 cinder block benches on my back patio. I love them. I am hoping to do a couple in my front yard this summer. It will be a great place for the grands to sit while waiting on the school bus too.
I would hot glue to place the material but a good adhesive to absolutely hold it. Hot glue pulls apart after awhile and especially in heat..but very cute idea
Love the cooler seat / footrest. One thing I would recommend is before you put ice and drinks in it, line it with a large, heavy duty plastic bag for easy clean-up. Otherwise, your fabric will get all wet and messy.
All that for a cheap styrofoam cooler? 🤣 All the time and effort and cost of everything you put into that cheap cooler could have been put toward buying a real ottoman that would last a lot longer then that cheap looking thing.
