I did not want to have any children due to being bused by my Dad and brother. Never wanted to risk being a bad parent - I felt in awe of the challenge - and chose to avoid it. A good friend asked me , whether I should allow what happened to me ...to make me an emotional cripple. ?! Putting it like that... is what changed my mind. Nobody....who abuses of you in your childhood...has the RIGHT to have you feel this way !?!? At 39, I had the most wonderful, popular, empathetic boy - I have ever known !?!?;) \o/

1 year after becoming Christian I became very disabled. Then my kids received a diagnosis of ASD. 7 years I've been disabled and God has taught me so much. My kids are thriving and in a year will start college full time. Listening to Lisa reminded me of how much I wanted to study theology ( even before I gave my life to Jesus I was seeking) Once my kids settle into college I'm ready to study theology it's on my heart. Ì might be at home all the time but I am ready to get off the kerb!

I grew up without a Father. So many walk that same path of life, never knowing the TRUE guidance a Father can provide, the sense of protection, the unwavering love a Father is supposed to extend to his children. It only got harder once I had children of my own, HOW do I be a Father, when I don’t even know what it means…so many abandon their children asking that same question to themselves. God changed everything, God began showing me what it meant to love, to care, to nurture…but not just my children, but those around me “thy neighbor”. I realized I knew no Father, just so I could come to know THE FATHER, when the time was right 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 We are going to have “Moments of Uncertainty” But that is not as important as the element you use to relieve yourself. Many followers of Christ are still indulging in our vices and addictions to relieve our “Uncertainties” Lean on God in your darkest moments, lean on the word that says you were created with meaning and purpose, lean on the Grace of God…let it steady your mind, your heart and your body. I don’t know who I’m writing to, who’s reading this, but God is ready, and waiting for you to seek him, through Jesus Christ, whom he sent to die the death meant for you and I. Not just on Sunday, not just when you “need” him, not just when you’re desperate…but every day, hour, minute and second of your life. Thank you Lisa for this wonderful word. I didn’t realize I had listened to this sermon of yours a little while ago but I really needed it for what I’m going through for about a month. I’ve made a brave decision to go back to church after many years of not going because when I was married to my 2nd husband who was a drug addict and I found out near the end of my marriage he also had been cheating on me. God had been preparing me little did I know at the time to finally break free from that very toxic marriage. I was so devastated and broken. I got shamed on every turn by Pastors and church people so I just stayed close to my Jesus as he was slowly rebuilding my life at home. It was safe and very necessary. Well, about 4 months ago I found a church to go to in which at first I liked it a lot. I was trying to take baby steps in trusting church people again. One lady was super friendly and I liked her and felt I could trust her. I called her one day because I was struggling with an issue. She started accusing me of things I wasn’t doing and for being guarded even when I was honest with our group about why I stopped going to church. It was awful. To make things worse the whole group turned against me. I’ve been nothing but kind to everyone. You spoke that God doesn’t use shaming toward us. And I really needed that story you shared. As you can see I’m doing all I can to not let this get the best of me by listening to Gods word but I am hurting very badly. This is beyond Christian not being perfect. This was outright betrayal again. I have moments where I feel angry and sick inside but I really need prayers please. Thank you.

God works in interesting ways. My phone jumped to this lesson when I had clicked on something else & it just started playing, by the time I could reach the phone to change it I was fully listening. Adoption is something I've debated for a long time, so it's time to start the process again. & like Lisa's story about the well-meaning but very misguided Christain woman, I also have had similar people in my life to provide "wisdom" at pivotal moments. The devil attacks in whatever way possible to deter us from God's plans for our lives. Take every thought in obedience to Christ & let HIM decipher for you. Thanks for posting this lesson!

WOW! What a mountain-moving sermon we all need to personally experience. So much light piercing through the dark episodes of life we have all been touched by in one form or another. Clearly words from God reminding us to not accept harmful, limiting statements from others, even when possibly well intentioned. What a blessing Lisa is in this world!

Wondering if the lady with the blonde hair that you heard talk about adoption was Mandy Litzke? She is a amazing women of God with a big heart for adoption. She is the director of Safe Harbor Orphan care ministries as well as many other Christ centered adoption groups. She just a little thing but is definitely a force of God. Has 17 children. Mandy and her husband are wonderful. She speaks at many conferences so I wondered if that’s who gave you the word on adoption.

YOU ARE AN AMAZING PERSON...IF ONLY I COULD HAVE YOU TALK TO MY DAUGHTER,SHE IS A GOOD WOMAN,BUT NOW A MESS..she is 45 years old. Since about late teens. .till she married a totally wrong man...she has been living living a life of self distuction...and getting worse all the time. Her 3children have been taken from her.About 7 years ago,for drinking.She keeps time with very abuseive men..Full of anger, Won't even try to see the TRUTH of JESUS.
