Titre : La Vie En Rose Interprète : Grace Jones Année : 1977 Auteurs compositeurs : Édith Piaf, Louis Guglielmi Durée : 3 m 31 s Label : Island Records Video: Upscale & Denoise Audio : Remastered
One of those rare covers that is on par with the original, I love what she did with this version - re invented it in her own style rather than just imitating it.
One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE VIDEOs and what a SONG! She’s A TREASURE & ANGEL from HEAVEN when she’s singing this MASTERPIECE with her AMAZING BAND, playing a perfect ARRANGEMENT, from the ear of a GREAT SOUNDMAN! Some magical combo because this song and performance should live for eternity!!!! 👏💥🥳
It's impossible not to be fascinated and effected by the awesome personality, beauty and expression of Grace . For me she is an icon and a huge part of our cultural heritage. 😍💋❤️🎵🎼🎶🎙️
Grace Jones Music 🎵🎶🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥they have Sabatage Grace Jones Musical Talent I think They was just Jealous Grace Jones Multitalented in Fashion Modeling Acting Music Grace Jones Multitalented and the industry just hide/Sabatage some her talents like her Musical Talent could have Gotten tons more Exposure Because Grace Jones Music 🎵🎶 Greatness🔥🔥🔥🔥🎵🎶🎶🔥🔥👏👏👏👏👏🎤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏✅🎤🔥🔥
@@marianneetaitla7414 I realize Edith Piaf is a French Icon and i respect your admiration for her . It seems you do not respect my admiration for Grace Jones singing this song .Who are you to tell me not to exaggerate ?! It is a matter of musical taste and i do not tell you what to like nor dislike !
No and no. I like very much Grace Jones, her style but it's différent please don't compare with Édith Piaf !!! If you don't speak french you can't understand this great singer and you are not able to make any comments. 😀😘
@@ledaincoco8278 Since you are French i understand that you have strong feelings about Edith Piaf . I know most of her songs , but it is just a matter of taste and i happen to like the rendition by Grace Jones . I do not think you are in a position to tell me anything and i am very able to make any comment i wish . Maybe you need step out of your little French Box and your assumption is not very conducive .
I usually watch this 4 or 5 times in a row myself.... its not only hot but quite a technical marvel and fascinating music study. The TOTP version is very nicely shot too
The ending really is the magical finale that the song is building to, so it annoys me hugely that this version starts fading out as she's reaching that crescendo. I'll have to check the copy I've got but I'm sure it doesn't do that.
My older sister who was a flight stewardess about 44 years ago, would practice speaking 'French' by singing along with Grace Jones singing 'La Vie En Rose', on a 45 rpm vinyl record. Only now do I realize that it's the same Grace Jones who starred in the movie CONAN the Barbarian starring Arnold Schwarzenegger !! It's so pleasurable listening to Miss Grace jones !!!
Conan the Destroyer. Disappointing sequel. Grace was O.K. in it though. But Arnold was going through the motions. Although he did do a great line. Enough talk! Followed by throwing his sword into a bad guy. Plain truth is they spent too much $ on casting, resorting to some masked Mexican wrestler on a cheap set to play a monster. But the real big monster was great.
It is one of the most beautiful female voices in ABSOLUTE, clear, powerful. Her voice is worth as much as a whole orchestra could go on extolling her qualities for hours, but some things are certain, her popularity will last for years and she will remain a star of the first magnitude for many generations.
Cette reprise est un chef d'oeuvre, elle est une création unique qui permet un peu plus encore de rendre la version originale de Piaf éternelle et universelle.
You again. He didn’t say that. What’s your problems? Ou peut être devrais je dire c’est quoi ton problème. C’est un hommage incroyable et la meilleure reprise de la grande Edith. Décontracte toi et arrête d’insulter les gens pour rien!
She is one of a kind! Great to have known her briefly in Syracuse in the 80s. We had some very interesting things in common. She is in two words....Classy and Intriguing.
This is one of grace’s songs where she REALLY SINGS. I’ll always love this lady. I remember when I introduced her videos and songs to my grandmother & she loved her! I always wondered where I got my open nature from, it was then that i found out, RIP ❤️ u grandma
When Grace Jones sang Edith Piaf's "La Vie En Rose" for the first time in 1977, I immediately fell in love with that voice, so much so that I immediately wanted to see the person who possessed such a great and beautiful gift act, see “007 - Moving Target in 1985” I was little more than a boy. Today, after so many years, I listen to it even more enthusiastically and passionately. I also remember that it was very fashionable in disco music.
Everytime I think I know something, I get surprised. This is my 1st time hearing her rendition of La Vie En Rose, and it is absolutely AMAZING!!! Just when you think you couldn't Love Grace Jones anymore than you already do, something magical like this pops out to add to list. Bravo🌹👏🏾💗
I'm from Paris and Grace sounds like she just learned this song in her French 101 class. If you want to hear a beautiful touching French song and Video listen to Et si tu n'existais pas. Sagara and Dassin
I'm from Paris. If you want to hear a beautiful touching French song and Video, listen to Es si tu n'existais pas. By Helene Sergara and Joe Dassin. Grace sounds like she is in French 101 class .
Grace Jones has always been a unique and fascinating being to me. I never knew she could sing! I heard her version of La Vie en Rose in a movie a few days ago, and couldn't believe it when I learned she had a voice like this
She doesn't get credit as a truly great vocalist. I think she might be my favorite vocalist. It is powerful and controlled. I saw her finally last year and she was mesmerizing
Every time I see the incomparable Grace Jones, I always remember the eternal "Queen Zula" that Grace beautifully brought to life in "Conan, The Destroyer" in 1984. Grace Jones is the most complete artist I have ever met in my life. Grace Jones, Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick and Donna Summer are IMMORTAL! Congratulations to Grace Jones for her 72 years very well lived. Kisses from Brazil!
Heard this song at dance classes in the 80s, came across it today... what a trip!! Can't believe I never knew this is Grace Jones's song, what a legend, what a classic X
Thank you Grace for this beautiful song. My late husband John Venere spoke of you so lovingly. Your brother Chris came to my loft on Broome Str. Though he wanted to sing, he didn't have your"chops", but was a great guy none the less. I wish you health, happiness and love. You deserve it all
Grace Jones & Eartha Kitt rocks, they knew who they were, and went after it, I admire them so much...they overcame obstacles...acquired a life & name for themselves 😌
Had never heard of this song and barely knew who Grace Jones was but man I discovered this song like a week ago and have been listening to it non stop since
Grace Jones la vie en rose Des yeux qui font baisser les miens Un rire qui se perd sur sa bouche Voilà le portrait sans retouche De l'homme auquel j'appartiens Quand il me prend dans ses bras Il me parle tout bas Je vois la vie en rose Il me dit des mots d'amour Des mots de tous le jours Et ça me fait quelque chose Il est entré dans mon coeur Une part de bonheur Dont je connais la cause C'est lui pour moi Moi pour lui Dans la vie Il me l'a dit, l'a juré pour la vie Et dès que je l'aperçois Alors je sens en moi, mon coeur qui bat When he takes me in his arms And whispers love to me Everything's lovely It's him for me and me for him All our lives And it's so real what I feel This is why Et dès que je l'aperçois Alors je sens en moi, mon coeur qui bat La vie La vie en rose, la vie en rose Ohh, la vie La vie en rose La vie en rose, la vie en rose La vie en rose, la vie en rose La vie en rose, la vie en rose La vie en rose, la vie en rose Je t'aime voir toujours
First time seeing this performance- I love the simplicity and elegance of her look contrasted to all her other images !! Still so uniquely her’s in pink …The studio design is flawless too and I love how there’s no distraction of the audience- amazing- just drawn right into this dream, this song when she sings it always makes me feel free.
