I set my boundaries with my mom and she hasn’t talked to me for almost 8 years. It’s sad because I tried so many times, and ever since I became a mental health specialist although it hurts at times I know it’s the best for me as much as I miss her. I think we need to implement this on the Hispanic population we should talk more about setting healthy boundaries and mental health.

I can relate to her dad being super strict and not being approving if my "worldly" friends it became exhausting. I worked at in in out too and despised my store manager too everyone did not like to be scheduled with her!

I grew up in a Christian household too, we would go to church Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. I was use to it but as I started growing up it was to much because there was a lot of things that we didn’t agree on, church problems & on top of that my parents especially my mom she was hella strict so I wasn’t allowed to go out. On top of that I was having hard time trying to get out of my comfort zone, it took me into depression but I wouldn’t say anything it was so hard until like I was 22 I couldn’t take it anymore I was this close to going crazy and ran away from home but I’m happy that I was able to finally talk to my mom how I felt, it was hard for me to open up to my mom because I was scared what she would say and when my recent bf ask me to hangout I was finally able to talk to my mom and she understood perfectly as well as my dad, my sister was there with me thanks to her!! and after that i felt something heavy fall off my shoulder😌 I felt relief thank God🙏🏽
