It’s very interesting considering in the first movie there’s a scene where jake says “the na’vi say every person is born twice” which might be what’s behind kiri’s birth, grace was probably the first human who could ever try to get transfigured and that’s what might make Kiri so special with her ability to control living things on pandora. I expect we’ll probably know the answer in either Avatar 3 (the seed bearer) or Avatar 5 (the quest for Eywa).
This scene where the *_ENTIRE_* Omaticaya clan gathered together and prayed to Eywa - all in an effort to save Grace's life - is still one of the most powerful scenes in Avatar for me!! 🥲
@@user-nz6eg5yu2k so? People can still feel emotionally connected to something, it's not real but the emotions and how it affects us is real and that's all that matters
The way I see it, the roots creating the neural link between Grace and her avatar are like a door between the two. The ceremony is essentially Mo’at holding the door open so that Grace could pass through. But remember: just because you hold the door for one person doesn’t mean that others won’t try to go through as well.
Maybe since Grace is with Aywa she is able to Influence certain things in Pandora. Perhaps thats why Kiri is the way she is. Grace is Kiri's connection to Aywa. Thats my theory
SPOILERS but I think in the sequel they make it so she did make it into the avatar body, she just never woke up and threw a baby out. There's some amazing theories about where the next movies will go with that
@@angelpunch0 I don't think Grace really made it, although she was sort of reborn as Kira, it's not really her... In the scene where Kiri connects to Eywa she sees Grace there, in her "afterlife", maybe Kiri is the "essence" od Grace but still a different person with different memories etc.
I think it’s a good thing that grace didn’t make it to her avatar because I think it was probably thanks to grace’s memories of the destruction of earth that caused eywa to intervene in the fight for Pandora
I think it's safe to say that's exactly what happened. Even Jake asked Eywa to do it: "If Grace is with you, look into her memories. See the world we came from. There's no green there. They killed their mother. And they're gonna do the same here.
EYWA: Whats up? Na'vi: Can you help her, she got shot? EYWA: Hmmmm let me see.........yeah not my build.....one of my elder sisters lost creations......i dont have the proper adapters for this terran mammal.....she's has lost too much blood.....dont have her peoples correct nutrient solutions........best i can do is back up her id and memory then repatch her with a copy into a youngling. But i have to keep the original for safe keeping. Na'vy: um what? Eywa: deep sigh......your not there yet....keep forgetting.... Dont worry about it she will be like you just wait she will be reborn soon.
From this scene when they were all calling out to Awah was calling out the entire planet’s heart. Using all that energy to save one person. But Grace was too weak to save herself and come back to her Avatar body. She ended up dying and became one with Awah.
"The Great Mother may choose to save all that She is, in this body." Didn't Eywa do that exactly? All the holy songs and ritual energy did exactly ask for Kiri to be concieved. So sad that the woman leading the ritual didn't had much faith and also said the ritual didn't work. Like she couldn't percieve and trust how mysterious the Godenergy works? But is Kiri Grace? Did Eywa know she would love to be child because the has a heart of a child with child-like curiousity? Or is Kiri Eywa herself? Who does the woman really mean with 'She' Or both? Grace was with Eywa and could have combined soul-energies with her before entering Kiri's body? 🤔 🤔
I think the last one is what happened. And I’m willing to bet Kiris epilepsy is actually a “everybody in the Navi has it” thing, just not as bad as her. As a sort of survival tool
0:21 you can see that the banshee's are even included probably the leonopteryx so i wonder if they do the same like there intelligent enough to connect to eywa themselves with there nural que's
I wonder if this practice originally started with the navi doing it to themselves? Like maybe someone in your family was sick, and you sacrificed yourself, allowing their soul to transfer into your healthy body, while you stayed with Ewa. It had to come from somewhere right? What was the purpose of the ceremony before humans arrived.
I can't remember the exact lines but it goes somewhere along this: Eywa we come before you for help (help her Eywa). We ask that you take this ones (Grace) soul (help her Eywa). And breathe her back to us (help her Eywa). Let her walk amongst us (help her Eywa). As one of the People (help her Eywa). Again not an exact translation but you get the gist.
3:25 (Jake sobs over Grace’s dead body) Jake: Grace, no! (Neytiri reaches over to comfort him.) Neytiri: Jake, I’m sorry. There is nothing we can do to save Grace now. She’s dead. Jake: But it wasn’t supposed to be like this. I feel so alone. Neytiri: You’re not alone. (Neytiri hugs Jake)
