Grace VanderWaal you are so amazing, So humble, honest and sincere. You so deserved this award. Get used to em coming your way I see many more in your future.
Garden Girl Such a PURE soul! I just hope she doesn’t change that. And I kind of know it won’t happen, bc she has solid values, and seems to have a great family. We need to understand, it ALL starts with THE FAMILY, our kids don’t need THINGS, they need LOVE.
this girl speaks the way that she sings and writes her songs - from her heart and soul. it's hard to believe she is still a child. Hats off to her parents, who must be amazing people.
From what I've seen she says she has a very strong, confident, successful father, and and an amazing mother who treats Grace like her favorite person in the world and a sister who would do anything for her. So she can just explore her feelings and not have anything to worry about.
Totally agree! I'm 40 now and i rarely heard any award speech (if ever) as intelligent, eloquent and deep like that! Not talking about that this came off a 13 year old. Very special to say at least.
There seem to be quite a few old souls that pop up in the music industry every several years- Jackie Evancho, Grace Vanderwaal, and now- Angelina Jordan, who will likely eclipse both of her predecessors in short order. Her Million Miles single is absolutely incredible and heart wrenching.
Got me in tears when she said she didn't deserve the award but her parents and everyone else who worked with her did. What a pure and grateful soul. I am a fan now not only because of her musical talent but her character and personality.
Simon Cowell said, she is a pioneer in her own way. Her parents were concerned that she may not be progressing as young children would ,a lot of young kids of her age can identify with her songs, and range does not stop there , nonetheless, each song and her rendition ,uniquely hers ,unpretentious ,passionate , focus , just like she said ," speaking from her heart ," Now she is 15yrs old , her parents always by her side, like million of fans , always wish good angels be at your side too. All the best Grace VanderWaal.
I love that Grace doesn't use super heavy makeup, wigs, or crazy outfits, she doesn't use crazy effects or filters in her songs, it's just beautiful music, just her voice singing inspiring songs. She is DEFINITELY the best artist (in my opinion)
@Kennedy Logan Morgan I agree, and yes, lol, I get it (But I think it's spelled graceful not to be that annoying grammar correcting person because I don't have perfect grammar, but yeah lol)
@@matildalansdowne4950 She is in a category of her own yes. I would say she is in the top 1% of singers who can actually sing live. All the others top performers don't sing live because they cant or use so much autotuned that deep down it's not there own voice.
I'm always amazed at how she can take a song that normally has drums backup vocals and all that, and kill it on an empty stage with just a ukulele and her voice.
And received a standing ovation from an astonished and appreciative crowd of the biggest stars in the industry! Then had them wiping away tears with a remarkably moving and unforgettable acceptance speech. Not bad for a 13 year old!!
Take this thirteen year old with her song, a stool, and a ukulele. No production or background and then put her on a stage in front of the music industries elite. What happens. Everything. A little girl that represents the true definition of music at its simplistic core. She is simply the meaning of music, simple, true to the point and profound in her interpretation. She is unique and one of a kind.
lol watched it very lucky group of fans thanks for answering my demands it is amazing that with here schedule that she took timer and preparations for those very lucky fans it shows her true humanity this world is needs more spirits like Grace
That may have been the best acceptance speech I have EVER heard... By her not understanding why she is there, demonstrates why she is there... Need more people with this sense of humility and gratitude towards others... Stay sweet young lady!!
The purest form of humanity I have seen in a very long time. Your parents raised you right. It is not just your music, your spirit is a gift. Be Blessed.
This is f.king amazing considering the fact that she is only using her ukelele and the silence is never awkward, its just smooth. not many artists can captivate the audience like this.
Very true the awareness in recent weeks have came in wake of the weinstein scandal that really opened the floodgates of sexual misconduct that has brought more ladies forward than it s ever been. I sincerely hope for Grace many folks will protect her from all the evil individuals that lust for sex.
Now this is REAL talent!!!! No artificial computer generated sound, no techno bullshit and the likes! Just a simple ukulele and a sweet voice!!!! Such an inspiration! God bless her!
It's not the first time a little girl has made this grown man tear up, but it has been a while. Probably the most genuine new entertainer of the past 20 years. Grace will change lives, unknowingly, but in certain.
I think Kelly Clarkson was crying because she knows exactly how hard that "1st year" is after you've won a reality tv talent competition and all is not smooth sailing but a series of hard bumps and bruises of people trying to cut you up. Grace spoke so eloquently and you can see in her eyes the joy and also deep pain of this "1st year" and the gratefulness to the people who have helped her along the journey thus far. I hope she never listens to the negative, only allow the positive to keep driving her throughout this amazing journey in the path she is on now. Kids stars don't always have "happy lives"...I hope in the end she can say it was all worth it. Hoping for a great life and career for this kid! :)
I've never heard such a beautiful speech, such humility was reflected in her words and expressions, I have always loved Grace but my appreciation for her has just grown immensely in this moment
As much as her talent is through the roof, I just have to admire how humble she is. Not rating herself, not accepting an award on her own behalf. She wrote her music BUT she truly shows who is behind her when she says it's for everyone but herself.Grace, U do deserve that award. Your talent and your personality will shine brightest.
Mutlu Sarıtaş For Kim, Kylie, Khloe, Kris, Kendall and Kourtney I can give you wayyyyy more, people that have done good or made art that kept/keeps the world going: Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Grace VanderWaal, Cyndi Lauper, Taylor Swift, Lizzo Adele, Whitney Houston, Aurora Aksnes, Amy Winehouse, Elton John, The Beatles, Queen, dodie, Patrick Martin, Sia, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Billy Joel, Buddy Holly, Madonna, ABBA, The Beach Boys, The Spice Girls, Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Willow Smith, Peter Paul and Mary. Some of them might not have been the hardest workers, and they’ve come from dozens of different generations and levels of success, but they have all contributed to life and made art for millions. That’s not even close to the entirety of the planet. Not ever activist, singer, writer, actor, director, Doctor, teacher, etc. Never focus only on the negative. That’s barely half of the picture.
Which if you break it down, was probably not a speech, but more just opening her heart to everyone. The humility in her words were pretty moving. Just found out about her today, since I don't watch AGT. The more I see, the more of a fan I'm becoming. Hard to believe what all she can do already.
James Catchot welcome to the family. We are going watch this , soon to be legend, go from a funny skinny quirky little girl to becoming a force of undescribable beauty and grace. Her story will surely be made into a movie someday. I just hope it has a happy ending. I think Grace does have the right skills to handle all these drastic changes in her developing life. But she really seems to be way to young to understand what's happening to her. Soon(probably already) she will not be able to be in public without being surrounded by body-guards. Everyone she meets will already know practically everything there is to know about her. She continues to impress me every time I see something new from her, wether it be a new song, a speech, performance etc whatever it is. If Grace created it or spoke it, etc it will be impressive. How could so many talents be contained in her tiny little body. I am amazed by her constantly.
Wow. Shes only 13, writing her songs, perfoming in award shows, won AGT. Im so impressed. 13 yr old me was just playing outside the house with friends.
Grace is now 15 and currently performing on her own National "Ur So Beautiful Tour". She is creating and introducing a passel of terrific new songs on her Tour. Check out her channel here ru-vid.com/show-UC2qc1KM4zgRoOpysqVEaNbw for a truly wonderful ride! And search youtube for 'grace vanderwaal ur so beautiful tour' for some amazing video of her Tour performances!
She is such a happy little soul but when she sings there is so much emotion, tinged with a little sadness in her voice. Amazing for such a young lady. I hope she never changes her style. Such a great little performer.
I so understand the old man thing!! I am 52 and haven't cried this much ever!! They are tears of happiness, because that little one speaks to my heart! She doesn't just sing for the little ones. She sings for us all!
This girl is special, she has the wisdom of a much older and more experienced person! Her speech was profound and deeply thoughtful! And she knows it’s not hers but she has been allowed to use it for a purpose! She and her music are gifts from TheFather almighty and to be shared for his glory!!And better yet she already recognizesit
All I can say is that she’s beautiful from the outside and more beautiful from the inside. She has such a lovely soul. I hope that girl in the future will grow up and still be the same grace as now. God really had blessed her with a gorgeous voice and a beautiful mind.
You are beyond your years. It is like you are an adult in a small person's body. You speak with such wisdom as you do with your lyrics. Don't ever let Columbia change your voice or smooth it out. Your voice is unique with its raspy quality. Beautiful. People will not forget you. Don't lose your wonderful personality.'

I look up to Grace, I might be 26 and she 13-15-something, but I truly respect her and learn so much from what she chooses to be and is all the time. Such a wonderful person.
@Kajsa Djärf Indeed such a wonderful person! I look up to Grace in many ways. She is so real and true to herself everywhere she goes. That is very inspiring!
That was one of if not the best acceptance speeches I have ever heard! This young woman is named so appropriately! Such Grace and maturity for being so young. I am a fan for life. It may just be me, but she reminds me of a young Joni Mitchell. God Bless you, Grace and may He protect you.
@@waynerethmel6900 You really put in the trolling work 2 days ago leaving all these negative remarks. Grace more popular than your favorite artist or something? Talk about being petty 🤣
Grace often talks about how nervous she is before she goes out on stage. But to get up in that room with just her voice, her ukelele and her words and to sing in front of them with no backup band to protect her. Well there is only one word for that. Fearless. Wow.
That´s the miracle of Grace ... she has remarkable access to music, language, speech melody, metaphors and poetry ... she´s extremely down to earth, modest, polite and compassionate ... and "so much more than this" The best music award speech I have ever heard
Im a grown man and it brought me to tears hearing her and im happy for her success she writes about things people take for granted and i love it things we think but dont say
I know I'm nearly (not quite) 4 times Grace's age and I'm a guy, but I too find her such an inspiration! Such a GREAT roll-model for her younger fans to look up to as well as us, her older fans. I really like and admire how she hasn't let the industry mold her into the common bubblegum pop-star (that rebels and breaks out to be trouble later in life) but strives very stubbornly to stick to her own humble style, with lyrics that make us think and feel how much has gone into dreaming them up! There are days where I shuffle all her songs on repeat all day long without any guilt because there are no negative suggestions, but just good up-lifting music to sing along with, and that's such a great change compared to what all is out there. Yes, I believe she deserved this award and she can take her career just as far as she wants to go! She is one confident self-made young lady!
Scott Samber I understand why you needed to explain yourself because young people think wrong with everything. Anyway it is inspiring to young and older people. I am 13 and it is inspiring, ever since I watched her AGT video I started writing my own songs. So any way your reading your eyes out so I will stop. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee👋
I just listed these girls. They have nothing on Grace. She can emote more than anyone I’ve ever heard. I don’t know what your listening to. But she blows me away with her singing. That rasp is everything. Grace has fans worldwide. All the top people are looking at her not these other girls. So your expertise means nothing. It’s like saying coke cola is better than Pepsi. Everyone has their own taste. Now if your saying that you better, I call B. S.
Incredible- a little girl with no band or backing track or dancers or showmanship- just her sitting and singing and holding millions in the palm of her hand with her incredible talent. So beautiful, graceful, eloquent and humble- wish young girls would look to a role model like her rather than those who make their mark on the music industry shaking their arses onstage.
I just love her she is so humble and seems so fragile. Hang in there Grace because what you do is so important right now❤️ I knew the first time I seen her that she was a star. Don’t ever change Grace, keep being you
Just when I think this young woman can't earn her name anymore, she takes it to the next level. That acceptance speech was among the best I've ever seen for any award, ever.
You know, I just cried like a baby. I watched her from the first performance on America’s got talent, and see how far she’s come, it’s incredible. She just keeps maturing, and she doesn’t use any gimmicks to do so. She is still as pure as the day she performed first, I am proud proud fan. I still listen to all her new songs, and they’re still all stuck in my head. She deserves that award more than anyone else. If there was an angel on this earth, her name would be Grace Vanderwaal.
She's art by herself .. the range of qualities she do with her voice, her standing and her clear soul, the way she thinks is just incredible ..what a creature!
Just discovered this young lady - wow! Forging her own path with her own style, music, songs - it not only takes great talent but also GREAT courage. I quickly realised that this lady is a smart, articulate, contemplative and aware person. She says - "It's so easy to look past it, and let it all go into a blur, and not even realise what's happening" - to me, that says it all - She is a VERY intelligent, self aware young lady. Please Grace - DON'T be told by ANYONE, what you should do or be - seek your own path; just be Grace Vanderwaal.
Have you listened to her album just the beginning yet particularly darkness keeps chasing me its mindblowing and to think she was 13 when she wrote and recorded it I do suggest the two bonus songs from the album lungs and hope for change
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee Hi James thanks for contacting me. I have only this day (08/feb/2019) discovered this brilliant young lady. I'll definitely follow up on your suggestions.
@@rogerreynolds2119 you are going to enjoy your grace journey the whole album is great not a bad song on it she is releasing new music soon subscribe to her channel there is alot of originals on there and some great covers
What an acceptance speech! Everyone is moved by this young lady with so much poise, and the Oxford dictionary definition for poise, is GRACE. She touches everyone and her name shines through her soul. GRACE.
She's a good girl, she has a big heart and the sky is limit for her because she is genuine, and people can since originality from miles away and gravitate towards it like a moth to light.
I don’t know why I feel so happy for her. It’s like she inspires me or something , it’s weird. She’s just a beautiful person and singer. She will shine in the years to come and I’m excited to see it 😊
Dear US Americans! This girl is awesome! Whoever dislikes them has no idea of good music. Be proud that you have such good young singers. I love her; their style and their music! Sorry for the google translation.
What we are witnessing is a birth of a new spirit in the music.industry. A little girl who touches souls across the world with lyrics and melody's that are simple and true. An emotional content that rips open your heart and injects her content directly into your soul. No flashing lights , no massive stage productions. Just Grace VanderWaal's music and stories. She is the spirit of music. And truly one of a kind.
WHAT A BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE NO BACKGROUND RECORDING . JUST GRACE AND HER JUKE AND PURE AMAZINGLY ENTERTAINING TALENT. CONGRATULATIONS GRACE .PS YOU DO DESERVE THIS AWARD LIKE NOBODY I CAN THINK OF
Let alone that killer performance, but that speech, so well spoken and filled with genuine emotion. She was only 13 there, a kid but with such maturity.
GRACE YOU SHOWED EVERYBODY HOW REAL YOU ARE .TO PREFORM LIKE THIS WITH NOTHING MORE THAN THAN YOUR VOICE AND DASILING TALENT SIMPLY SHOWS WHY YOU ARE A BIGHT STAR
I have never heard a speech more beautiful. Grace, you are truly captivating and inspiring. I saw sadness in your eyes and if that's true, I want to thank you for still sharing your gift so it can help and encourage others. A selfless act.
Why does it always sound so much better when it's just her, pouring her heart into song by herself, with just the ukulele? It's like pure refreshing water when all you've ever known is neon colored sodas full of sugar. I hope she inspires others to be creative, be unique, be their self, instead of buying material to perform.
There is a mountain of love in that girl’s heart and a cray computer inside her head. It is as mind blowing listening to her talk as it is listening to her sing. People go through their entire lives striving for that kind of poise and maturity. It’s going to be fun watching her grow. I hope she stays close to the people who are important in her life and stays grounded. I think she will.
Wow, she is more and more incredible. I like his taste for old movies, the 30 s. I like her choice of clothes, her hairstyle, the style she chose to receive her award. Her dress is beautiful and goes well with her eyes. I like his inventiveness, his intelligence. Tonight the profession has seen that she is not only a girl of 13 years but also and especially an exceptional woman ! What inspiration for so many young people ... what only young ? Thank you Mlle Grace !
Grace (and Darci too) are what can happen when you support every fiber of your children and absolutely everything good that they do. What an absolutely perfect, PERFECT soul. I will listen to and purchase this future young lady's music for the rest of my life. Excellent song and an absolutely perfect speech.
OMG! Just when you thought you couldn't love this little girl anymore she drops a speech like that. I love to hear her sing and in a rare moment of cosmic harmony she turns out to be equally as inspirational when she speaks. I just love her.
At the age of (almost!) 71yrs I must presume to be one of your most senior admirers. Your wonderful creative abilities in your music are so special--I would like to add my admiration to the rest of your admirers here. In addition, you have IMO a truly beautiful physical appearance and I would love to see you become a successful model for a great brand. Just keep going the way you are and all the best wishes for your continuing success! With all love.
