I love it as well. It was the best advice he could give her. Obviously, she will change a little with growth, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing seeing how everyone does for the most part as they get older. Hopefully though, she maintains that foundation of being humble, hard-working and doesn't forget those around her prior to her success.
I read an article today where she was interviewed by teen vogue and she said that if a record label tries to make her someone she's not or do something she's not comfortable with, she'll walk away
Tennille Wise Well that's good to hear on her part. A lot of artists tend to let their labels change their image/mindset in exchange for the fame and money. I'm glad she's putting her foot down or least in the mindset of doing so. Independent Labels tend to grant artists more freedom, so maybe that's the route she should look into.

Howie is on point with his advice! You just can't stress his words enough. I know Grace knows this too, she said many times that she'll stick with her family and FAMILY is key to stay true to yourself.
What I like about Grace as well is that she dresses and acts like a 12 year old. None of these overly made up, inappropriately dressed teens we see now!
I'm not worried for her at all. It is almost certain Grace will pick Simon to sign with, and Simon knows from long experience how 'not' to screw her up. Moreover he is far too public a figure with far too much to loose to ever screw her over. He will do right by her, he himself has said how the key to her talent is that is all comes from her, her being real. Simon, Grace's parents, her sister, even Howie I expect will all work to see to it that she stays grounded, that she stays true to herself, that she doesn't get overwhelmed, that it doesn't 'go to her head'.

It bums me out that she even needed to write a song like "Clay" because she's so amazingly sweet and kind. Knowing that she can take bullying experiences, chew them up, and respond in the form of a powerful song tells me everything. I'm not worried about her because that mind of hers, along with her amazing family, will keep her grounded and moving forward. So happy I decided to get in on this season of AGT, which I rarely ever watch. Bravo Grace!

How can you NOT develop a big head with all the pressure and attention before you're even a teenager? I hope her parents are smart enough to help her manage her decisions and thinking, to keep her somewhat humble. That is a big part of how young stars stay in control of everything.
Canada absolutely loves Grace Vanderwaal. When she starts to tour hopefully she will make Calgary Alberta Canada one of her stops. I am so so happy that Grace won AGT. Can't wait for the first record.
She is unique. Howie is right. A voice and songwriting talent of that magnitude at that age doesn't come along too often. I really hope that with Howie's mentorship and her parents/sister's love that she keeps her feet on the ground. I think she will be a superstar but I also hope she is still allowed to be a kid. She has got a lot of just being a kid to enjoy before worrying about being an adult. I just hope the industry gives her space to breathe, time to create the work she wants to create and above all, let her enjoy the rest of her childhood, like any other kid.

I am not worried about this kid at all. She will always be guided in the right direction. She has good positive people in her life... She is not gonna end up like Miley Cyrus, whoever thinks that you are really dumb. Not only does she have great mentors in her life but she is also a voice of reason. I think she is gonna go extremely far in the music world... She is an inspiration to people of all ages. Her fan base is not just kids and I don't think that her fan base is a majority of kids either. I am 34 and I adore this kid... This is just the beginning of an incredible career for this kid... Soon she will be recording albums and who knows maybe she will be nominated for a Grammy or 2.. Grace deserved this win!

I enjoyed the show but was really pulling for Lincoln Bridge. However, I really didn't expect anyone else to win. She is an amazing gifted child. Hope Lincoln Bridge gets a record deal.

Then we see her tearful after winning and vulnerable. Then finally, here, it's like OK it's all over let's have some FUN! She is relaxed, playful and a bit impish even.
