I totally agree, its her confidence in competitions that she needs to work on. She is very unsure of herself during competition and seems to think too much before leaping into the next element. With some more competition under her belt, she would be great. I think the U.S will make her into the next star due to three things: her name, her jumping ability, and her commercial look.
World Team Trophy 2013 in Tokyo in a week, I think by now the Japanese have come to recognize that Gracie is one of the best skaters in the world and that they will support her as true fanatic fans would. At the last WTT Gracie bought a $500 Japanese scarf with her winnings. Well...it's her money but I would invest in a nice, luxurious house in the country. Gracie's going to need an elegant retreat when she becomes as famous as Yuna.
Gracie is talented and does have consistency (she showed last season). I think the reason why she hasn't been as consistent this season is because of nerves. It can be difficult to change from a junior to a senior. I think she just needs more experience.
She has that petrified look when she takes the ice like Mirai or Alissa do when they skate. I hope she doesn't become another Sasha Cohen a skater will all the talent in the world who can't compete.
Gracie needs to just stop worrying about being the savior of US Ladies skating and just do what she knows she can do. She showed at Nationals with that LP that she can do it. I just hope she's not like Sasha and is obsessed with being perfect all the time. It always came back to bite Sasha in the LP.
