will 210 do interior paint water base ?

Owned one for 3 plus years and recently stripped apart the pump to find no filter in mine. I purchased it new back then. It works ok but thicker latex doesn't spray well. Pump just isn't strong enough for some paints.

How easy is it to spray horizontally? Also if I use shellac primer will water still clean the machine ?!
