Transitioning from kindergarten to first grade marks a significant milestone in the lives of children. In waldorf tradition, we call it as " crossing the rainbow bridge" .
The Rainbow Bridge ceremony begins with the Kindergarten teacher narrating a special story about the prince and the princess who live in a garden and wait to see what lies beyond.
Then the children cross the rainbow bridge accompanied by their kindergarten teacher and are received warmly by their grade 1 teacher with a rose on the other side.
