Honestly prefer Tom Grossi but this guy covers more and is quicker at getting uploads out so it’s convenient since Tom doesn’t cover smaller things like articles and stuff
@@kgumentun93 Packers fans are being gaslighted into believing that Edgerrin Cooper will be some superstar LB. But he will be an average LB at best. The NFL website says, E. Cooper will eventually become an average player in the NFL. I watched some games last night after he was drafted (not highlight videos), and he stunk to high heaven. He watched other player do the tackling, and he got pushed around a lot. Ty'ron Hopper might be a better starting LB than E. Cooper.
@@Matt-yq3gq bro it's a whole new head coach and DC with the youngest team in the NFL still....that went 2nd round in playoffs GB is about to take us seat back as kings on the NFC 49rs are very beatable
Middle of the Defense was addressed. Added Speed to the Defense. RB room was addressed. I really hope Morgan pans out. I see Morgan starting in Runyan spot Right Guard. Love the Stud LB pick. Our Linebackers now have Sideline Speed in the Room. RB room really looks good after losing Jones heartbreaking. Final grade B+. Go Pack Go. Gute is doing a nice job building Roster. Packers will continue to Ascend.
Morgan will pan out. I hope that Edgerrin Cooper will pan out. Watch his games and not his highlight videos. Cooper stunk in the game. Hopper might be the starter over Cooper before the season is done.
The combination of Quay and Cooper at LB with excellent size, speed, quickness, potential sideline to sideline range, physicality, tendencies toward a little nastiness, and big play potential in pass defense (both have a ton of talent to develop in pass rush and pass coverage areas), is going to be really exciting to watch. They need be effective in stopping the run better than this defense has been in recent years, and definitely have the potential to do so. In 4-2-5 alignments, which we will see a lot of, these guys have the potential to be extremely impactful. I like the late round S pick. McKinney and and Bullard could be a top 5 NFL S tandem very quickly. Morgan may be the starter at RG by week 1 and has the potential to be a great one (with ability to move to T if needed). I really like what I have heard/seen/read about the interior OL they drafted, that he has well above average athletic potential for those positions and brings some of the desired nastiness. There were a few players on the board in the mid and later rounds I liked, but I think the players they did draft will improve this roster noticeably. Bring on the season and Go Pack Go!
I saw a lot of needs addressed and a ton of athleticism and IQ! A number of 1st and 2nd team decorated young guy’s for their respected conferences….then most of our draft picks had tenured college experience. I’m elated at the picks and the culture that’s about to have Lambeau ROCKING! @SidelineScoop thanks a lot for keeping us in the loop and going above and beyond to cover The Packers in general! #GoPackGo💚💛
I absolutely loved this draft!! It was all about defense whereas it was about offense last year! The defense is officially a top 5 now!! It’s a definite A in this draft, the north is going to be very fun! Defense is very stacked 🔥! Loved the key points that you touched on about how they filled in the weak spots cuz personally after we got Lloyd, it was totally up for grabs in what we could easily get, love that the safety room is loaded now to where they can use those other two guys on special teams or something, give them a few reps swap in and out sorta, Walker and Cooper though, that’s gonna be super fun to watch and it’s gonna be a scary defense now.

'A' grade seems a bit generous to me. I really like Edgerin Cooper, Jason Bullard, Kitan Oladapo and even Kalen King could turn out to be a R7 steal in the future. But I'm not sure about the others and feel that Hopper and Williams in particular were drafted too soon. They could have been available in R5 or R6. I feel like GB missed out on a stellar CB, Edge or D-Lineman. Overall I would give this draft a 'B-' but hope I'm proved wrong. The NFL Draft website was showing that GB drafted Jason Solomon (Edge) at pick 168 for a while. I was gutted when I realised that was wrong and he actually went to the Bills due to a trade.
If you liked the non-tackling safeties we have had lately then you will hate these guys. All 3 can tackle. Williams is all over the field on film making tackle after tackle. Bullard is hammer and Oladapo is another enforcer. By all rights the Packers should emerge the draft as North favorite.
Luke. Good job getting to 32k subs. The ability to get your subs as quickly as you have says something to the nature of your work ethics and your content.
@@KamikazeJusticethe first page I looked up has cooper being ranked 1st in the 24 draft rankings? I’m not familiar with him as I don’t get to watch enough football let alone college… Who’s better and who do you think would’ve been a better choice?
@@user-ql4op7hx8f Payton Wilson out performed Edgerrin Cooper in every stat for the last 2 seasons. They both played the exact same number of games in 2023 (12) and in 2022 (11). They both did the exact same combine workouts, which were similar, except for P. Wilson ran faster at 4.43. Cooper ran a 4.51. After the Packers drafted E. Cooper, I watched a game (not a highlight video), and he stunk. He didn't do the pushing around because he got pushed around. He watched the rest of the team do most of the tackling while he slowly jogged to the pileup. He badly got faked out by a RB in that game which led to a TD. Cooper was a reach in the 2nd RD. The NFL website says, Cooper will eventually become an average starter in the NFL. That is not too promising.
@@jonathanjazek4014 You're literally wrong. Payton Wilson was the best LB in this draft. Edgerrin Cooper was vastly overrated. His stats prove it, and the games prove it. Try watching him play in a game instead of listening to someone else, or watching highlight videos. Highlight videos can make anyone look like a superstar. If you don't want to watch a full game, just watch a "Texas A&M defense 2023" game, and watch player #45. Those videos are only about 10 minutes long, and they give a more complete story of how good/bad E. Cooper is. I would have drafted Jeremiah Trotter over Edgerrin Cooper.
I think we just got 3 great drafts in a row. Yes, we have to see if these guys can actually play, We filled all our needs with the top trier guys at their position. The running back was a steal. He was a first rounded if this was 2014, and he can do exactly what jones can do. I watched highlights of him catching the ball 20 yards down the field very explosive The linebacker and safety. Have excellent athleticism and instincts So hopefully we can stop hearing about how the bears hit a home run.Packers don't have to take a back seat to the bears or the lions go pack
I'm starting to warm up to this draft too, there were a few guys that I thought we could've gotten but it's whatever at this point, all hindsight. I kinda figured they wouldn't draft DL because of how much depth we already have in both DT and DE (in 4-3 now!). You could even argue for Colby Wooden to be able to switch positions at a moment's notice (considering he's like 280lbs.? There have been bigger 4-3 DE's) and the Packers would still have 5 DT's going into the season (if Jonathon Ford makes the team that is). Very surprised they picked a RB as soon as they did (looking like a sneaky good pick too!) and now I sadly worry for Emmanual Wilson's job (practice squad is possible but...) because you can't ignore his explosiveness, but with Josh Jacobs and AJ Dillon, idk if there will be enough room for Wilson. Also glad they waited with CB to be fair, at least true CB's (not Cooper DeJean who could move to S but he got stolen from us...) This is going to be a fun preseason tbh, now that Love has proven to be the guy he doesn't have to play preseason anymore, it's going to be Clifford/Pratt/McGough. I see Lloyd, Wilson, and Pearson getting majority of carries, Doubs/Reed/Watson/Wicks imo shouldn't have to prove themselves this preseason, Musgrave/Kraft proved themselves, only O-line that shouldn't have to play preseason are Jenkins and Tom, everyone else is on hot seat now after this draft (though I do expect Walker to win LT job, maybe move Tom to C, Morgan to RT, Rhyan at RG, Josh Myers imo is the weak link). I don't expect Smith, VN, Gary, or even Kingsley to play as I think they're locks at DE. Clark, Brooks, Wyatt, and Slaton have earned their jobs so only Ford and Wooden imo have to play out of all the current DT's. Strangely, I expect all of our LB's to play, and at least all rookie DB's, to get acclimated to the 4-3, Jaire in fact is the only CB I don't expect to play at all this preseason, everyone else I think needs to prove. McKinney imo will also be the only Safety not to play preseason. This way, maximize rookie playing time, prioritize health among our starters, and here's hoping to a GREAT 2024 season! GO PACK GO!
Instead of taking THREE SAFETIES, I would have used one of those picks for a good corner… gutey obviously feels good with what we have there…. Or maybe. He thinks one of these safeties can play CB
Id say a B -. Definitely needed an Edge rusher, and those damn Phillies taking Cooper DeJean and not addressing CB earlier...but there are some nice chess pieces here. Unfortunately, I think the Lions and Bears got better in the Draft, so I don't know.
The Packers seem to do so well at finding great OL in mid and later round. I'll never understand why they selected at that position at #1. Not that I'm going to armchair the decision, but given their history at evaluating talent at the OL, I'm still scratching my head.
Lloyd is 220, the guy is an absolute UNIT! He did more bench press reps than a lot of OL & DL. He reminds me a lot of Jacobs physically but he's even more shifty. Packers got a good one with Lloyd. Daniel Jeremiah had him as his #1 RB. Cooper was also his #1 LB. We absolutely crushed this draft.
Lloyd runs a lot faster, too. Lloyd (4.45-NFL Combine) and J. Jacobs (4.64-Pro Day). NFLDraftBuzz has Edgerrin Cooper rated the 4th best LB, behind Dallas Turner, Payton Wilson, and Junior Colson.
I just hated the fact that a lot of people were mad that the front office didn't take Dejean or Kool Aide when they had the chance. Offensive line was a need in the draft, and if anything, Green Bay has had a better history of drafting offensive lineman than defensive backs. I'd say their class is a class that filled their needs and let us see how these players do. I have learned my lesson not to have an overreaction with whom they pick in the first 2 rounds. Their Jordan Love pick shut me up, so I trust what they are doing.
@@Mrccstar09 They should have drafted one, too. The guy they signed up from the Vikings is average at best. And the Vikings drafted probably the best PK in college. So I think the Vikings probably got the best end of that deal.
The only draft pick that I question is the RB pick, the guy has small hands and fumbles... A LOT! We'll have to see just how our RB coach decides to improve his skill level.
In my opinion, the biggest loss to our team isn't Baktiari but rather A Jones. It is yet to be revealed what the newest additions will bring, and although hopeful, Jones will be missed because of the abundance of value he added both on and off the field. GO Pack GO
B+ draft I think if I had to give a grade. Love the first 4 picks, just thought Gute stuck to his philosophy no matter what when he had the board fall perfectly with the run on offense and missed a golden opportunity to grab an elite CB. And to make that worse, Detroit gets Arnold at 24.Hope that doesn't end up a bad decision and Arnold ends up being a thorn in our side for years and becomes an all pro. Hopefully Morgan protects Love for 10 years and it doesn't matter if we missed on CB
I literally couldn't have drafted better... Most years I felt like I could have but. This was a great job I mocked alot of these players in my mock drafts
James Morgan the 1st round pick would have went to Washington. Also these gms aren’t drafting based on the big names, they look for the players that fit the system the best. GB is costly trying to be a more physical and speedy team
Ngl we did needed a QB yes out second string is decent but its akways god to hsbe a 3rd ready on hand also i loved how they went out to protect Jordan live eith getting the line and RB beefed up ..and our o lime was already a top tier oline last season without bacht...this draft was actually perfect in every way and they git quay walker some bettee help...snd i love how the DB room looking CB captain is of course Alexander and safty is now xaziver we literally have an all star in each position
Cooper DeJean and Marshawn Lloyd make day 2 draft picks really good. Both players are probably ranked the best at there position in this 2024 this NFL draft. Javon Bullard reminds me of Brian Branch who can play safety and in the slot. No idea on the Linebacker out of Missouri, but everything says that he plays downhill and stiffs the run. Overall A- draft, day 2 gets a B+. I think Jordan Morgan, Edgerrin Cooper, and Javon Bullard will be starters for our team. I also think teamed with Xman is a big upgrade from last year. I think our #1 cornerback Javon Bullard will be one of the best cornerbacks in 5 plays. I’m not sure where maybe RG or RT are moving Zach Tom to center. Marshawn Lloyd and Edgerrin Cooper will sure see the field. This 2024 NFL draft so far has improved the team so I’m thinking an A- and I look for our Packers to finish strong 💪 on over all depth. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
Javon Bullard will actually play ahead of Keshawn Nixon. He'll be slot. Oladepo will be SS, Stokes and Alexander will be CB2 and CB1, and McKinney will be FS. 2 LB's Quay and Edge Cooper. Rashawn Gary, Kenny Clark, Wyatt, and Van Ness will outsnap Preston Smith. That will give them plenty of pressure with Quay and 4 rush the passer. Van Ness, Gary, Clark will all create pressure. Cooper and 5 db's will cover. That's an A tier D. OLine: LT: Morgan LG: Jenkins C: Tom RG: Monk RT: Walker I see that as the starting OL's QB Love WR1: Watson WR2: Wicks SLOT: Reed WR3: Doubs WR4: Melton TE1: Musgrave TE2: Kraft TE3: Sims RB1: Jacob's RB2: Rookie USC RB3: Dillon
I like Jordan Morgan, Javon Bullard, Marshawn Lloyd, and Evan Williams. The rest don't do much for me. If the late round picks, that filled positions that we needed, were earlier picks, then I'd get excited. Passing up Payton Wilson to reach for Edgerrin Cooper was a huge negative for me. Michael Pratt has a nice accurate pass. He could compete against S. Clifford for the backup QB job, and win it. *GRADE: C+*
@@joedirt3333 Payton Wilson has more speed (4.43 in the 40)... and outperformed E. Cooper in every stat for the last 2 seasons. They both played the same amount of games in 2023 (12) and 2022 (11). They both performed the exact same combine workouts. With your logic, they should have drafted Wilson because he has more speed... 4.43 to 4.51. I watched games with Edgerrin Cooper last night (not highlight videos), and he continually got pushed around, wouldn't tackle much, and got faked out by RBs. Gute reached for E. Cooper while allowing P. Wilson to go by them a couple of times during the draft.
@@KamikazeJustice well thats fair, but these gms like gute don’t go with the big names. Obviously cooper is a big name, but everyone had Wilson higher on the draft board. Gute always picks what he feels best, I’ll trust him
i think ryan starts at rg nd morgan is the swing tackle he needs to add strength. walker is a ascending LT tom let him settle in at RT . meyer’s should be ok or monk could beat him out. loyd dillion jacob’s / wilson is a decent backfield. only thing is jordan bd those wr needs to take that leap nd we cooking with gas
I wish I was more of a Guty fan but in all honesty I can’t get there. Decent draft. We have great young core. But there is something about him that I just can’t trust. So glad we have fantastic coaches that create the positive culture that is there because Guty isn’t about that and maybe that is how it should be. But I always get such a bad feeling on him. You can love his draft and give him all the credit and give him the typical A but something is missing in his approach and style.
The man is building a dynasty around Jordan Love, but ok. His last 3 drafts have been VERY good. With last years arguably one of the best in franchise history. He hit on SO many players last draft. With this draft, he solidified our o-line and defensive backfield. It’s also clear the Packers have a LOT of faith in Hafley and what he’s going to bring to the defense along with the staff he built. Gutey is militant and keeps things under wraps while being open and honest about the team. He doesn’t want other teams having any clue what the Packers are doing. It was pretty evident with this draft that teams around the league are scared of the team he is building. The Eagles and the Lions both jumped us in the draft to steal a players. They’re fucking SCARED! Gute is a GREAT GM!
I give this year's draft a B- due to the fact that the Packers had several chances to draft a corner and didn't do it until the 7th round. If they took either T.J. Tampa or Caelen Carson at corner then I would've gave them a B+
Mckinney will be the free safety roaming the field a lot like ed reed did, and the others will be the strong safety that is more of a sit back kinda safety and scan the field!!! And I think the safety from Georgia was brought in the be a lot like McKinney and be a roamer, come down in the box and play the run alot
But you def nailed it with the o line stuff!!! Idk what it is we do but we have always been good a developing o line talent!! I think it goes all the way back to the 60s with Lombardi and stuff. I mean there is no other explanation because we have literally always always been good with o line drafting developing etc
D. Campbell was slowing down in his play, and he was 30 yrs old. Gute doesn't show anyone respect after they've turned 30 yrs old, and/or has played in the NFL for about 10 yrs. He disrespected Clay Matthews by giving away his Jersey No. 52 immediately to Rashan Gary when he left. One of the all-time great Packers doesn't deserve that.
It's a different NFL today Been following GB since the mid 50s Even before Lombardi In the 60s 70s ,even 80 BEFORE Free agency . Players stayed with their respective teams their whole career There was no salary cap , UFAs ,Franchise tags It's a business ,a big business at that I am as sentimental as anyone I relate to losing a long time favorite But with all the restrictions ,and the " Cap Casualty " rules what players a team can keep and who they must jettison because of the salary cap issue . The average player only has a few years to maximize what they can earn With the exception of QBs and Kickers most players don't have long careers .
In the pre-draft press conference gutey said he was happy with the CB room. Alexander, Stokes, Valentine, Nixon, & Ballentine. Needed Safety, LB, and OL more
grading right after a draft will always be the most unrealistic and clickbaitable content... No one can predict or grade future success that have not happened yet. No one knows if a pick will be good or not.
Hope I'm wrong but I dont feel like we got better this draft. Filled holes with good enough players, but nothing that i can get excited about. C+ cause we drafted need
😂😂😂😂 my guy the team was already stacked. We signed top free agents and best players available, plus depth at other positions. I don't know what you were expecting being at the 25th pick, however your expectations seem to be off. This is a top team now and they will likely win at least 10-12 games
Even the most optimistic people did not the squad would end in the playoffs last season with the choices made, I probably but them a 10% better than the pundits but they out preformed all expectations form the pundits and 99% of the fans that aren't pie in the sky thinkers, The defence and how the Pack can defend J.L and versatility and over strength of the bench it looks like a improvement to me.
And replaced him with a much younger player that is an absolute stud. How many games a year can a player miss and still be considered a great player. The best ability is availability.
@@shawnrobinson4173 After A. Jones hamstring injury, he came back and played his best ball of the year with multiple games with over 100 yds rushing each(127 yds against the Panthers, 120 yds against the Vikings, and 111 yds against the Bears), and pushed the Packers into the postseason. The Packers beat the Cowboys with 48 pts, and A. Jones had 118 yds rushing. In the loss to the 49ers, Jones had 108 yds rushing. BTW... Josh Jacobs missed 4 games in 2023. Jacobs averaged only 3.5 yds per carry. Jones averaged 4.6 yds per carry. Jacobs missed 4 games out of 17, and Jones missed 6 games out of 19 (including playoffs).
