For those pointing out the green screen effect on the I in his shirt, I believe it was fully intentional. You see, "I" is how one refers to one's self, so it is clearly a metaphor for how John views himself as an empty pallet, hollow and transparent, waiting to be masked off and covered with the thin facade of content he churns out for his audience. It's a call for help. We hear you John. It will be okay.
Nah, he'd be a terrible teacher. Teachers shouldn't be biased, and there was 0 consistency between his grading and the actual videos. He was needlessly harsh to some, while others were much worse and he gave them better grades. I would hate that if he was my teacher.
I like the potential of this series. The problem with trying to be a popular youtuber these days is that it's almost impossible to get anywhere if you're just starting out unless the algorithm randomly decides to put your video on the home page. But if people see a big RU-vidr giving attention to small channels I really think more people will start looking away from the massive ones
It’s also just a good video too! I feel like when I see big RU-vidrs doing “top 5 underrated youtubers” or whatever it’s done plainly and pointlessly. This not only highlights the channel but helps others in the process by giving them examples.
Jack, thank you so much for this! It means a lot to me to be featured on your channel. It's difficult to get your content out there as a small creator, so I'm certain that your series will help a lot of people find their audience. Overall great video, B+ :)
This is genuinely one of the best moments of my life. Thank you so much Jack. To have someone I've been Inspired by since before I ever even considered doing RU-vid, compliment... *me* is an inexplicable feeling. Cant wait to see you in Orlando!
Jack: This series is just my excuse to be an asshole Also Jack: Wow every video is really good, here's some valid criticism. I'm really impressed and can't wait to see more
I know there's a lot of people in the comments insulting this series, (which, to be fair, is a very JacksFilms audience thing to do), but I wanted to say this was genuinely very enjoyable and educational. I'd watch more if it became a series, and I'm sure it would be a nice change of pace from what you normally work on.
I couldn't agree more, i also love the fact that this series would most definitely help out these small channels grow into something bigger. Which is fantastic imo especially with RU-vid being tougher for small youtubers nowadays to gain some traction.
There's so many things you can do with these series. Add more editing, more picks, more ways of presentation. Make it an actual classroom setting. Have an attendance at first, revealing your picks for the episode. Dress up like a school teacher. Have your wife as a cameo as the school principal. Every episode, pick a outstanding student and every special episode, pick a valedictorian for the whole school year
no, this series sucks. He's like giving honest opinions on it. Nobody cares about that because it isn't funny. It's just a way for him to feel like he's mastered making videos when he definitely hasn't
I was literally thinking about how youtubers don't really help each other anymore, I've been subbed to the same 5 idiots for half a decade. This series already got me some new people to watch. Thank you and please do more
youtubers helping each other out feels like a bit more of an oldschool thing back when the youtube creator community was a lot smaller but there aint no reason a big youtuber cant still show off small channels nowadays so its cool that jack did this
This was one of the coolest videos I've seen from you, I get to find interesting but hard to find talent, and learn good video making etiquette from one of the best names in the business. Flawless. Can't wait for the next one.
This was amazing Jack. I was skeptical at first, but I grossly underestimated the potential of putting together a variety of videos and being graded by someone who's been in the game for over a decade now. Good stuff man. Thanks for the laughs.
Can I just say I LOVE how wholesome and genuine Jack is in this video? It’s so much fun seeing him be his sassy, sarcastic self, but mixing it up every so often with sincerity is such a nice treat.
3 years on and this remains one of my favorite Jack videos. It's so genuine and he makes a lot of good points as well as introducing his audience to a bunch of cool creators. I hope one day he makes a sequel
Jackfilms: Comedy - F Creativity - F Look - F, obviously standing for "forehead" Music - F Marriage with Erin - D, standing for "Disaster" Overall personality - S, for "Simp" Total: Somehow A+
I really appreciate you recognizing when you aren't a targeted audience for a video and grading it on what you can as opposed to your opinion on the content. I always knew you were a man of integrity.
I am all for having this become a series on the channel because of 3 reasons: 1) it introduces us to creators that we may not have heard of before. 2) it gives said creators feedback and advice on how to improve and how they could make bigger and better stuff. And 3) I’m all for having some more semi-serious Jack content
I honestly wish this turned into a series. There are so many great film makers on youtube and your gradings are well thought out, so this could act as a nice place for creators to meet, learn and collaborate. Do you guys know @Joel Haver?
This is the perfect thing to do during a coronapocalypse-watch a guy judging other people's videos as he delays the hour long YIAY 500 as much as possible.
HOLY AHIT HE REVIEWED MY SONG WITH LASANGA BOYZ EDIT: Thank you all so much! I have Love Yourself + more songs on Spotify, Itunes, etc! Just search Cgsongs
Gotta say, I'm intrigued by this "series". Or what I'm hoping to become a series. It has the Your Grammer Sucks feeling to it by allow the audience to interact. Not to say that your other videos don't, but this I feel is a positive, engaging environment, and contribution to others on this platform we love called RU-vid. I'm really hoping that you're planning on creating more content!
Yo jacksfilms I like the turn you're taking! I can totally imagine this as one of your main series, like once a month, with perhaps five channels each time. I appreciate when you're serious, and you're giving cool tips for everyone. And thanks to the volunteers as well!
I think this should be a pt 1/2 series. Like this will be episode 1a and then episode 1b could be like the same people that submitted videos the first time, but they send a newer updated video, after hearing jacks criticism. Just to see how much of an improvement was made
@@microTrash28 I think they just mean that he'll keep doing the series, but every now and then he'll do an update video where he picks some of the creators he's reviewed previously and does it again.
Dude I love the Pixielocks girl's hair so much, like, even her eyebrows are rainbow, but I get a headache just thinking about the amount of work that has to be. She should get a point just for that.
Tiny Ryan: nice body horror Spring Fashion: colorblind test Tabletop Games: a wizard (notice the gryffindor jacket?) doing magic tricks ie. spitting cards Love Yourself: 2010 heavy metal nostalgia Yeah I'm Scott: Wes Anderson film in an ordinary home Kink Police: nice documentary 2012: original song Kane's Kitchen: Bon Appetit in an ordinary home
Ha! Now that we're being critics anyway, lemme chime in. Jack, John, whatever you want to be called, this video sure was entertaining and on par with the "Fix your bio" series, if not surpassing it, which is a way to give the subtle hint of DO MAKE IT A SERIES, PLEASE. In case you missed it. Also, I dig that inclusive attitude that you show when you say "this video is for a club that I'm not a part of, and that's ok, there's room for everyone here on RU-vid". Totally on board with that, especially since I've seen how mean you can get if you set your mind to it - I've been around long enough to remember the "feud" you had with Jenna Marbles. I know it was all a joke and a big old game, so it doesn't really-really count towards the mean-o-meter, but, well, I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at. Speaking of Jenna Marbles - and know that I"m a sucker for dogs when I say this - any time you feature Klondike or Sundae (or the new dog you and Erin got), I can't but be reminded of her and think, "ah, cute, but Jenna did it first. You know it, I know it, motherfucking Jenna knows it." (Cookie if you got that movie reference.) For fuck's sake, the entire YGS series, which was what attracted me to your channel in the first place, was based on you acting dickish, especially if the people you ridiculed were clearly non-native speakers of English, I mean, come on, give 'em a break. Still, though, that shit was hilarious as fuck. *IS* hilarious as fuck. I'm refusing to believe that you won't be releasing any YGS video anymore ever. (THIS WAS ANOTHER SUBTLE HINT, in case you missed it.) The point being, you can be a dick if you want to, and right here you didn't want to even though it's the kind of video that lends itself especially well for that kind of behaviour, and sometimes this just needs to be said: "thank you for being a nice person." Well, and now that YGS has been brought up anyway, I think you should bring back "biches". I mean, apparently this lady thinks your fan base is collectively called "big boys" but standing 6'7" tall (that's 2m, for my fellow Earth-but-not-the-US-ians) I think I qualify as "big", and, being a guy who's reached the age of 35 just last week I'm way overqualified for the moniker "boy", you know, "big boy" isn't a thing that really does do it for me, ya feel me? "Bich", however? Yep. Any day of the week, any hour of the day. Call me a bich to my face and I'll buy you a beer, know what I'm sayin'? But yeah, so what was I getting at, again? *Shoves aside a few finished bottles of beers, while scrolling back up to read how I started this message* *Burp* Ah, yeah, right. So how fucking sloshed were you, when you recorded this? Obviously I'm in no position to judge - "he who is without sin" and all that, but I mean, a man can ask a question without casting a stone, right?
Thank you for including Pixielocks even though she wasn't your cup of tea cause she's definitely mine and now I've got a new channel full of videos to binge watch 😍😍😍
Eilrahc Because different people enjoy different types of content? I don’t know, to me it seems like an easy enough concept to understand, but let me know if you need more help to work through it.
The Super Mario Odyssey music combined with the outstanding visuals and of course the Adele shirt made Tiny Ryan a A++ and the extra plus is for the last scene and by last scene I mean his legendary dancing.
