I think anyone who grew up watching in the 80s and 90s can tell that its the writing thats the problem, Too scripted, and too corny. The product today suffers because of how big WWE as a brand has became, unfortunately...
magickarlos There are so many factors its hard to point to just one, Lack of competition no doubt has hurt wrestling because its made it so Vince doesnt have to really give into what fans want and is much more free to dictate to them what they wanna see (see Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan and the whole situation with Wrestlemania right now). The writing is also a huge problem, but I cant say its because its too camp, lets face it Grado is about as campy as it gets and yet hes loved, no i think its more with WWE's over control of its talent, everything is scripted and rehearsed and it comes across that way not feeling real or genuine like it use too, WWE wrestlers feel like characters and not an extension of the people. John Cena for example doesnt feel like John Cena but more like a Superman caricature. Factor in things like no surprise factor due to the internet, The IWC's constant negative attitude really driving newer younger fans away (the amount of cunts blaming younger fans for ruining wrestling is fucking appalling), Money being down, Wrestling on going health issues (wrestlers dying in droves). And the overall feeling that WWE is moving backwards instead of embracing new ideas and concepts and yeah that's my 2 cents as too why wrestling is in the state its in

Don't let the internet fool you. TNA can pack an arena if they actually rent the whole thing out and properly advertise and promote the show. Some towns are just stuck on the WWE's nuts though...
***** Ill say it then, the product is shit. Everything on it is basicly stolen from WWE only on a budget that would make a homeless guy feel shortchanged. Bobby Lashley is booked like Brock Lesner, James Storm is Bray Wyatt etc. Lets face it they made Eric Young their champion, a guy who a year ago was their version of Santino and the only reason they gave him the belt was because he has a beard and Daniel Bryan has a beard, thats the blackhole of creativity that flows out of that place they are ripping off WWE's shitty creative and somehow making it more shit. And now its really showing apart from losing their TV deal with Spike because they were paying Russo under the radar (seriously its sad when you have to turn to Vince Russo to be the guy who has original creative thoughts). Most of their name guys have left AJ, Jarret, Sting, Joe even Kurt wants out but WWE wants no part of him. Their attendence is doing roughly about 1/4 of smackdown tapings, their new TV deal is worth about 2/3's what their old one was which means less money for the talent which means good luck keeping and name talent. And now ive heard rumors of checks bouncing though that could be total BS. Bottomline TNA is basicly on life support and they have blown every chance they have been givin, even if they somehow keep surviving they wont ever be more than a indy promotion
