A little note, a lot of grad gowns need pinning to keep them in place. Its definitely helpful to have a dress with a higher neck or thicker straps - the satin one might be too delicate! xx

Libby Goult very good point! Although I was lucky that I didn’t have to pin my gown down and I wore a strapless dress. But yes, it’s probably safer to not go for something strappy :)

one thing about graduation dresses. if your graduation ceremony is at the same place as mine (and I think it is), you will get so hot inside, i'd really consider breathable, natural fabrics to go underneath the graduation robe which are the heaviest and most non breathable fabrics on the planet. not to mention the date - we were graduating on the hottest day of the year so we were sweating in our dresses and robes. you will definitely find something gorgeous! my dress was a little cream lace number from asos which looked a lot like self portrait, it looked really great with the robe and a lot of my friends actually picked light colours which looked really nicely with the dark colour robes.

White is a safe bet and looks lovely under gowns, but honestly the gown usually just covers your dress anyway

Definitely think about how you are going to pin the gown.. the gown is quite heavy and so you need a dress of thicken material/ straps

The white summer dress was so cute! I love the detailing on the skirt, it looks so professional but also cute which is wha I think I’m going to go for, I almost wish it had something more on top though, maybe some jewelry could spice it up a bit! I kind of want to be extra at graduation, but the red was just too much for me 😅

Just a warning about the red sequin dress I wore it to an event for a couple hours and then the strap broke so I would sew over the straps a few times before wearing it out for too long.

I finish uni in June but don't graduate until the beginning of October which is so odd, but hopefully the weather will still be good!

I went to the same Uni as you (studied Fashion Marketing- graduated last year) and I don’t know if you know but you don’t graduate in the place with *cobbled streets* you graduate at the main campus in the *nearby town*...unless it’s changed since last year 🤷🏽‍♀️ but I would suggest something that doesn’t show sweat either- those polyester gowns are NOT cool lol
