Thanks for the clear introduction to Grafana. I am trying to arrange a project and I thin Grafana will do the job: OBD2 > DB > CSS & HTML based Car Instrument Panel. I will get there one day, just the customising of the Grafana output eludes me at the moment.,
if the need is more Application log tracking and visualization - is Prometheus together with Grafana is still the right choice ? Or is Kibana the right right approach? or something else?
Yes for logs you could use something like the ELK (Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana) stack or pair Grafana with Loki. For log forwarding you could use something like fluentbit.
Nice explanation. I dont know anything about grafana but my organization is making heavy use of it. Trying to learn it and this video gave me some idea of what it actually is. Thank you.
i pulled data using promethues from my linux vm server and allowed it to access from anywhere by opening ports but when i try to login from my windows it gives me this while logging in, "If you're seeing this Grafana has failed to load its application files"

Awesome video, I finally have a better understanding of the relationship between Kubernetes / Prometheus / Grafana thanks to this. It always confused me a bit when hearing people say "exposing an endpoint for Prometheus to scrape". Everything makes sense now, thanks!
No Prometheus is not a data producer. A node is a data producer, and a tool like Node Exporter installed on the node will expose the data produced by the node in a standardized format. Prometheus will then query/scrape exporter's API to collect and store that data in it's time series database, allowing someone to perform complex queries on that data using Prom's query language
