@@AbsoluteEgg My guy, he just did Shrek 6 last year and is doing filming for that documentary about himself where he talks about how he cleaned up his act in the 90s. Get with the times.
@@jekblom123 I know it's hard to move on but it's doing you more harm than good to cling onto the past like this, enjoy the memories of his work but don't try and keep ahold of what's already gone, believe me, I understand the pain you feel in your heart but you need to move on and free yourself, god be with you.
i know its a shame that his voice actor was REDACTED and the family had to REDACTED and REDACTED before REDACTED found out . but i like that they got REDACTED to voice him after all that. who can forget his awesome catchphrase "REDACTED? don't tell me twice!"
I can almost guarantee that the Simpsons will actually reference Gumbly/Graggle in an episode, but, y'know, they'll probably do it 5 years too late or something.
I just dug through my Simpsons DVD collection from back in the day and rewatched this very episode. Graggle wasn’t in it. Crazy to think the Simpsons crew had to break into my house to delete all evidence of Graggle while I was sleeping. Thank god they haven’t gotten to you yet. Stay safe
I remember when they got rid of Graggle. It was an episode titled "New Millenium, Old Planet", which premiered on January 1st, 2000 (and never aired again). Y2K had seemingly begun, and Homer and Graggle were determined to get answers. I haven't watched my taped copy of the episode in a while, so I don't remember anything else besides the basic plot and the ending: Homer and Graggle learn that Y2K is the day Graggle has to return to his home planet of Graggton 'cause he was drafted into the war against Kang and Kodos. After he and Homer go home, Graggle used a Men in Black-esque memory eraser tool to wipe Graggle from the memories of not only the Simpson family, but also the Fox executives. The episode was never re-ran, and all episodes had to be re-written and reanimated to remove Graggle. Not even Disney+ has the Graggle episodes. To this day, Graggle's departure emains one of the most infamous moments in not just the Simpsons, but all of media, and I'm glad that I could witness it first-hand...
Fox got a cease and desist order from NBC over Graggles story concept being too similar to "Alf". I'm pretty sure Matt Groening destroyed all the original early, unedited episodes.
@@livesinsewersirl I remember he did it to save Apu’s business, because Apu was going to close because it had to many competitors and his store nearly had closure so Graggle had to take a desperate mesure
@@llollosxd7791 the episode is one of the more ambiguous, philosophical ones too, asking the question "is terrorism always unacceptable, even if it's in defence of your community" however many, including myself, think the episode was a bit too ham-fisted with it, as the threat (the 7-11) was not a large enough threat to warrant terrorism, and ultimately the intended message gets lost by the disproportionate methods Graggle used.
I'm glad to see the internet finally acknowledging such an underrated character, he was an absolutely favorite of mine when I was a kid and I was devastated when they took him out of the show.
It’s sad that Graggle was deemed no longer “politically correct” and completely censored from the show, Matt Groening himself disavowed the character and went back and edited Graggle out of old episodes. Fox even pulled Graggle centered episodes out of syndication because they were afraid of getting bad press. Just because in season 2 episode 18, Ain’t Nothin’ about Graggle, Graggle says “I f**king hate ********”. Sure it was off color humor but all art is shocking at first. I hope Disney does the right thing and release the episodes to the public.
Interesting fact: The often forgot character Graggle Simpson from The Simpsons, was actually the main inspiration for Mr. Poopybutthole in the show Rick & Morty
I can't believe anyone forgot about Graggle either, I had about four of his t-shirts because they used to fly off the shelves at Target. One of my favorite ones was a black t-shirt of him and Bart playing guitars with the caption "Graggle Rock!" Unfortunately I lost it in a house fire.
Can't believe this video cuts out the best part where Graggle has a conversation with Homer and makes him come to terms with his severe alcoholic tendencies and his failure as a parent as well as a husband which shortly leads to Homer ingesting cyanide. Such a classic.
It was never the same after the replaced graggle's voice actor, after the 1996 scandal. Regardless of the controversy this in my opinion was my favourite graggle voice.
At the time I thought it was all some weird joke and the character was being fired and replaced not the actor... The weird thoughts when someone has a scandal that can't be explained to kids.
I miss my Graggle t-shirt. I wore it so thin my mom had to keep stitching it back together. Eventually I spilled motor oil on it while "helping" dad in the garage. It was done for at that point. I check Ebay every few months to see if one has popped up.
"This video contains content from UMG, who has blocked it from display on this website or application." It's common fact that if a company copyrights something like this, it's 100% canon. This is the failsafe we needed. Graggle was real all along.
Don't wanna rain on your parade bud, but if a company or a corporation copyright strikes a video or blocks a video in a certain country, it would mean that it would be considered official, not canon, but official. Other than that, Graggle is real and they're just trying to hide it from us.
Wow! I can't believe you got such high quality VHS footage of Graggle! You must be supper determined have some really good equipment management for that, most local airings didn't even have this type of quality!
Wasn’t there an episode where Graggle won a greyhound race because Santa’s little helper fell in love, it was like a 2 second Easter egg if I remember rightly
It's such a shame disney had to edit him out of the latest release because of all those jokes/threats he made about Italians. Will pc culture never end?
I wish they'd bring back Graggle, he was always my favorite character probably followed by Homer. I sure was sad when Disney+ had cut out all of Graggle from The Simpsons to make it more appropriate to put on there. I honestly wish Disney would consider adding the Graggle scenes and episodes back.
(@@itzgoogol69420) I think it's because Graggle was too popular and famous that none of the other projects Disney made were successful and made no money because the simpsons was too popular due to graggle.
VHS are like a peak into another world because on most re airings of something or another psychical release of something they remove something or change it in a way like it’s crazy how much original content is on VHS By Original Content I mean how the original episode or thing was intended like we also have a lot of lost media on VHS to crazy
Graggle is like the actual thing that the Simpsons "people" are made of. Like if the world was invaded by yellow aliens and then the aliens started to pretend they are humans, crazy stuff.
I think one of more fond memories of graggle was when he used to whisper in every episode in the older seasons, things like "forgiveness is a luxary" and "the weight of your sins can be unbearable" were some of my favourites
I miss one of graggles amazing catch phrases "Only In Springfield! " Everyone in the area would show up and start laughing everytime he said it, but once he got a new voice actor, his catch phrases changed and the new catch phrases "It's graggle time! " replaced the old one and then everyone would just stare at graggle awkwardly and soon after the show was rebuted with graggle removed, he was in so many episodes of the time that they had to yo through so many episodes to remove his character and rerelease the new show the simpsons instead of the old show the simpsones. They may remove graggle from the show, but they can never remove him from our hearts.
The people trolling saying things like "this is a meme" are actually starting to piss me off a bit now. He's probably one of the best characters in the show. Smh
Interesting fact, Graggle's voice was the only one that changed depending on regional releases. In NZ he has a chur bro accent, in England he speaks like a pom, and in Australia he has a disability.
Ugh this whole Graggle joke where ppl pretend he existed and make up stupid stories about their fav fictional Gravgle moment as of it were real, IS SO GRATING AND OBNOXIOUS I CANT TAKE IT.
Aw man, you probably watched a bootlegged version. Or someone edited him out as some sort of funny meme. Like "ooohh wouldn't it be funny if we all started to pretend Graggle never existed?".
Good old Graggle! I still remember one of his most iconic quotes: _"Is anyone watching? Please aknowlege me! my name is Graggle! I have a family, I have a life, I have a place here! _*_I'M REAL! PLEASE TELL ME THAT I'M REAL! I must be real- I MUST BE!! Can anyone hear my voice?! Who am I?! WHO AM I??!"_*
If only I watch more of Graggle he seems like such a calm character in the world of the Simpsons, I should have watched the older episodes before fox began to cut him out of the series
@@feslerae Did I say it wasn’t real?? Of course not! Everyone knows it’s real! I just think the animators did a great job capturing the authenticity of Graggle! 😄
Jokes and memes aside just wanna say that the editing and voice acting sounds awesome for graggle and i hope they actually make him canon and voice acted by the voice of beast boy because in my opinion that voice works wonderfully
It is actually refreshing seeing a mysterious character like this come into existence and has so far not turned into yet another generic creepypasta thing yet... Now i'm giving people ideas... Doh!
I'm just glad that when disney got the rights they didn't include graggle..and graggles real voice character was voiced by Matt Groening before they tried to change it..also did you know that graggle was the middle name of an actual classmate of Matt's portland oregon Highschool.
It really pissed me off when Graggle left the show in season 24, was super excited when Matt Groening hinted at his return in season 30.... then Disney bought Fox and it never happened. And now they're removing Graggle from everything. Why? I understand he's not very politically correct, but all they had to do was give him a bowtie or something to avoid the angry Twitter mob freaking out about his nudity. ITS A PART OF HIS CHARACTER! HE CANT WEAR SHORTS OR A SHIRT BECAUSE HE TOOK A VOW OF NUDITY IN SEASON 4 AFTER HOMER MADE UP HIS OWN RELIGION! Graggle is devoutly religious similarly to how a monk may make a vow of silence. Screw you Disney! You've taken the greatest character in fiction away from us!
To this day I’m baffled how I’ve never seen graggle before. I’ve watched so many episodes of the simpsons back in the day and have never once seen him. Feels like a hardcore mandela effect
I watched the Simpsons for years during the 90s and 2000s and I don't remember this character appearing in any episodes. I feel like this character has been edited into the episodes to trick people into believing this character existed
I wonder why graggle never returned. He was my favorite character, in fact he was the reason i kept going back to the simpsons. I remember staying up past my bedtime just to see what kind of quirky catchphrase he was gonna say. I even had his plushie and the "best of graggle" dvd. Idk where they are today tho.
I think he was removed because too many kids were disturbed by his character. As a kid I remember loving him though, when they took him out of the show and replaced all his old lines with silence in re-runs I was confused and devastated. They even recalled VHS tapes like this, offering new DVD copies as replacement. Of course, some lucky souls still have tapes like these, they are worth so much to collectors I'd imagine.
these comments are hurting my head. for anyone else annoyed by this, Graggle never actually existed in the show. it's a gag, a goof, a lie. anyone claiming to have seen him is lying to be in on the collective "Gumbly (the first name people used for Graggle) is/was real" joke. he was never there, so don't beat yourself up for getting confused like I did since nobody wants to be OUT on the joke instead of in.
Man, when I first heard about this graggle thing and not knowing if it was real or not I thought I was going crazy. But then I heard other people saying they remember him too then it put my mind at ease.
The video is probably fake. I really don't remember this character while watching the Simpsons back then, and boy did I watch them a lot, so could someone please tell me who is the boy sitting in the couch next to graggle..?
