I have no idea what happened to the audio on this video. In the editor everything was perfect, when it created the file it got garbled and nothing would fix it. So, this was the best I could do.
I've wanted an Omas 360 since I first saw one. I picked this one up and needed a little work and now it writes wonderfully.

Glad I discovered that I find triangular sections highly undesirable early on, and for only the cost of a Lamy Safari...
@Doodlebud

Much better way to find out LOL
@ironmic9244
@ironmic9244 Год назад
An interesting thing happened with me. I can't stand the Safari. The grip hurts my fingers for some reason within minutes of use. It was why I was apprehensive about the 360. I used a Faber-Castell Schulfuller, which had a tripod rubberised grip, and that helped. But I have no such issue with the 360. It is hands down the most comfortable pen I've used.
@zazaincalifornia
@zazaincalifornia 11 месяцев назад
Good to know that all triangular grips are not made equal! I don’t mind the Lamy safari but not my favorite, but I’ll have a look at the others model with triangular grip then
@ironmic9244
@ironmic9244 11 месяцев назад
@@zazaincalifornia I think the plastic is so hard on the Safari. The angles of the 360 might also be a reason for a more comfortable grip, but I've never checked the angles. Maybe the cotton resin on the 360 does make a difference too.

I just LOVE them. By the way, I think that although yours looks black, its probably ‘Blu 360’ like one of mine. It’s such a deep dark blue it looks black. Hold it up to a super bright light to see.

Doodlebud; Congrats!! Looks absolutely beautiful!! For me, a Canada Day weekend project restoring a very early Vintage Sheaffer Balance Oversize (I think) from 1929 or 1930 based on the clip on the cap and it was made in Toronto Canada. Found it in excellent condition at a local antique shop last week but was in need of some care. Did the whole 9 yards: Fully dismantled, ultrasonically cleaned, some light micromeshing to remove light scrates general body polishing/waxed, nib/feed removed and polished and refit and assembled. Now, I just have to wait for what I think is a #20 sac to to arrive finish the project. Very satisfying so far!!! There's an almost unperceivable crack on the lip of the cap which I plan to repair. You can't see it and I should leave it alone but I know it's there and my disgusting OCD is unbearble. Maybe a good repair project for you in in a upcoming video? There's not much info out there. I only found one video where acetone mixed w/pieces of cellulose was used as a glue... Food for thought. Thanks!!!!

My friend it's actually a blue-black resin. That is what OMAS labels them anyways. Just a quick note. OMAS pistons are notorious for being delicate, so be gentle when filling and cleaning. Great job restoring it. I just don't have the guts to fiddle and tinker. It's such a shame with what happened to OMAS, but now those of us really get to treasure them. Look at the way the pen writes. Oh so wonderfully wet, some shading, a nice rich, deep color. Fantastic! I'm really, really happy for you. Good Canada Day present.

See you beat me here. Sajjad, I am sure you've spent more than that on a pen before. Yes, I know $550 is steep, but you won't find it cheaper than $500. I'm surprized that it is only for $550. I wouldn't sell my Iceberg for that price, because I believe the pen was made under OMAS control, and not LVMH. That means it must also have an OMAS nib, and not the Bock nibs that were used after 2000. I'm selling you man, like how you sell Ichiro on the KOP. Haha

And I gasped in awe . You know what, I’m going to somehow shell out the money by the coming weekend. If the pen is still there, as I expect it to be, I’m going for broke and buying it. A ton of thanks for the encouragement. You own the same pen. All the assurance I could ever need to heed your advice. edit: if only Ichiro would eventually do as I tell him about the KoP.

Hi! Congratulations! Is the pen’s materiel celluloid or acrylic? I have both, and they both are great writing pens! If this is the acrylic model then no problem with ink types. With the celluloid pen you might want to watch what ink you use in it. Certain inks can damage the feed section. I used to use only Omas ink, but they are no longer in business so I can’t buy their inks anymore.

@@susanfoley8360 I would wholeheartedly disagree. The 360 is hands down the most comfortable pen I and many have ever used. I am also quite sure most will take an OMAS nib over a MB nib. I'm not saying the 149 is not a great pen, but curious as to why you say it "is the world's best fountain pen?"

hi, sir. do you still like the grip and use this pen? my fingers are sensitive to hard to hold pens, and I've been looking for other styles to use. the stabilo grow, i think, has a large triangle grip. its in my budget range these days. I've recently tried hooded nibs, and though they are slim, their range of angle makes them easier on my fingers causing less fatigue. I'm trying to find the biggest hooded nib i can find, well barrel/grip width. so far, the biggest is a hero 565, I'll be getting one soon. you might think it defeats the purpose of getting a fountain pen that writes like a ball point, but ball points have thicker ink as you know, and it slows me down. ironically, nibs over size 6 slow me down too, and tend to dry out in use. I'd get an actual half breed, the roller balls, but reviews are showing leaks and dry outs. also, the roller balls tend to be very slim. the reason i mention all of this, i was wondering how your own pen design is coming along, and how you feel about designing other pens. you know, as odd as it sounds, i think its possible to design a roller ball with two balls side by side.

OMAS nibs are indeed a real pain to pull, I think I'll take it to an experienced repairman next time after sweating buckets for ten minutes pulling one out myself. It's a shame Scribo still makes what are essentially OMAS nibs, but then they engrave that hideous, tacky slogan across the face of it instead of stamping that gorgeous dual tone arrow design onto it.

Congrat's on the Grail Pen and all... BUT those were the true words of a Die Hard TINKER! "I'll probably just enjoy this pen more because I've had an adventure with it, did the work restoring..." It's ALWAYS the ones we've had not quite go "right" from the start... The ones we suffer for a little bit, have to work for it... EARN it. THOSE are the treasures we truly enjoy. It's okay. No shame being a Tinker. You only ABSOLUTELY MUST know how it works, how things do the things they do... why someone invented it that way... what they had to be thinking... It's part of how we find our place in the world. It's our connection to the world around us... to society... to engineers and inventors past, present, and future. AND along that journey, we treasure the things that were most difficult, the time consumers and conundrums... the puzzles... and once in a while the just plain "weird" ones. Here's hoping you'll enjoy this pen for decades to come... but we ALL know you're only looking for the NEXT Grail Pen... soon enough... haha ;o)

@@Doodlebud I rode a 40's era Harley for 10 years after I pulled the wreckage out of a scrapyard to put it back together... ALL because it had the throttle on the LEFT SIDE... It was weird. I was actually on the road with it for 4 years before I found out that throttle on the left handlebar was because it was WWII G.I. and the rider needed his right hand free to SHOOT PEOPLE... I later traded it... Not because I was tired of it, or for the money. I found a guy who's grandfather rode motorcycles in the war, and he fell in love with her... SO... I still ended up with a pretty good bike, and he had something to remember his grandad. Heh... The life of a tinker. I've fobbed together damn nearly everything from pocketwatches to steam engines and as modern as microwaves... I know how it is. Your tendency to tinker is part of the charm of your channel. It's always fun to find out how the insides go together... what makes THIS particular make or model unique or different from another. ;o)
