@@jakass my man right here...for me a base can have to main loot areas max...i am just way to lazy to run around and transport all the loot to seperate bunkers
@@hanfiball4136 Pretty much just spread the good stuff out before you log of and you're golden or just use em for some insurance storage incase you get raided.
I used the v1 for multiple wipes and it never failed me, not a single person knew of the pixel gaps and only once did they actually manage to find tc. Ive been watching your videos for a while now and I have to say you are hands down the most ingenious builder on youtube. Keep up the insane content 🔥
Same exact experience with the grail. For almost a year now :) It's fun to be reasonably sure u can still play tomorrow, eh? Lets hope we can keep it up
dude, i have not ever seen a build tutorial that was actually fun to watch. my mind is blown. youre awesome, the base is awesome, im totally using this next wipe you have a new sub. keep up the great work
Built this on a 2x 4day wipe server for a 5 person clan. Worked well, although we were generally a disorganized mess. Got raided hard on the last evening before wipe, and they easily dumped 90 rockets to get to core. Completely bypassed the two conditional wall loot rooms where we had all our boom stockpiled. We were able to pick it up the next morning and go back at them hard. Fun build!
No one breaks things down as entertaining and thorough as GameLightz. Solid base and tons of cool ideas throughout this whole walk-through. Good work! ☕
At 28:51 you can use HBHF Sensor in the inside ( they have a small radius ), they also prevent from building on the outside, plus they're inside, "protected" ( I know, any of those take some time to destroy but.. You know :p ) And if you're placing them in the middle of a connection between 2 walls, they can prevent from building on the outside, on both sides/walls ^^ Another amazing video ! Thank you Keep up, and wish you the best (:
Wow this is game changing man.. like I'm talking evil wurst frustrator level changing. You've unlocked the new era of rust building for sure. Thanks for sharing!
I love that your tutorials are detailed enough that someone who has no idea what they're doing can still build it properly, and also explain why parts of the build are the way they are so potential builders can learn how it works or do their own thing with it. Best builds and best tutorials out there!
Been following you for ages and always just been interested in implimenting the tips and tricks. Built this base recently on an official week long server and holy cow is it satisfyingly strong. We were offlined and the raiders wasted a phenomenal amount of boom going through bunkers and externals. I have to say as much as I LOVE this base I cant justify building it on Vanilla as it takes so much work and time. Love your work gamelightz. You and budsatawny are the best base builders in my books.
The first raid just happened, 2 sets of mslr, and about 40 rockets, went down half of the base, but the core was in full health, I was able to push back the raid, and rebuild this base in no time!!! I felt this is gonna be a great base design! Thank you again!!!
I'm new to building in rust but your videos are SOOOO detailed I don't think I am gonna mess this up I'm gonna try and build this tonight on a build server a few times thank you
My builds are extremely technical, so the tutorials have to be very thorough. If you have any issues whatsoever come to my discord and I'll help personally.l
@@masterjack8222 oh yea, without a doubt…. I mean, that comment is 5 months old, but since then I’ve built dozens of bases and been raided dozens of times and I can say without a doubt with 4500 rust hours…. The top base designers go something like this… 1: Game Lightz 2: Dust(a very close second) 3: Crow
This is insanity. It's going to take me hours to learn but I definitely can because the tutorial is so well paced. Thank you, new sub earnt and new disciple gained!
Beautiful. Console build needs to catch up so I can fully utilise this base Keep up the great work on solid solo bases. I use the Chad mansion every wipe. Luv it
i stopped playing rust a while ago cus my pc stopped being able to run it but these videos (even tho i have no use for the information) are always a good watch! much love gamelightz! ❤
Love the build. My trio group used to always run the Trio Heaven and I think we will switch to this! One modification that we made on the heaven which could apply here, is that we replaced the triangle on the shooting floor above the entrance (and on the opposite side) with a ladder hatch and had a ladder or two going up the frames to get us from the compound to the shooting floor extremely fast. Sure wed have to replace the ladders in after taking Heli but the extra maneuverability is great. Love the base and can't wait to use it!
Love the detail descriptions and chapters to the build. One thing that could be cool to elevate the video would be to have resource esitmates of each chapter so you know how much you need to save up to do the next part. Ie. We're doing the externals now, you'll roughly need 10k frags, 10k stone and 3k wood for the build and doors/windows. Great stuff!
Always the coolest builds from you! I can't seem to consistently get access to the pixelbunkers, without the smart alarm, but even without those bunkers, its still much more beefy than anything I've ever lived in!
With a small box you kind of hold W and wiggle sideways until you're in the right position, it's not that bad at all, do it a couple of times and you'll get the hang of it for sure! :) But yes, you could omit the bunkers and just place doors there, all good.
@@GameLightz I was struggling as well. I found I have to hold W to walk towards the wallk while also tapping left or right to start falling off the box. The W key keeps you on the box instead of falling, and then I was able to consitently access behind the pixel gap. I still prefer the smart alarm. Do you have any tricks for accessing the locks in the lockers? I couldnt do taht successfully? Also is there a build code already for Builders Sanctuary?
@@2k3r1 sanctuary is bad, I have a rusticated code in the description. And since 2 months ago you can access any lock on any lockable item you can access, tcs, lockers, boxes, even if the lock is not on your side or visible.
You are the best base builder I've come across RU-vid, i appreciate that you actually do tutorials that are entertaining and to the point. Any chance you could do a quad base?
Hello Sir :) I'd say the Trio Heaven works great as a quad base. It's about as strong as this base and only a bit more expensive, and you get some extra room to move around.
tip for others: at 3:45 he makes a half high shelf in order to jump out of the core, but later at 6:55 he stands all the way up in order to place the walls for the first pixel bunker. Make sure you dont upgrade that initial shelf to stone or youll have to listen to your teammates gripe when you force them to soft-side it for you!
I have used this for a wipe and I think it needs a mobility chute and better roof peaks at the very top overall an insane base ❤ used as a solo very cheap
I’m using this base currently. Shortly after getting externals up I was raided. Was able to defend and seal twice pretty easily but they kept showing up with more boom. Was super expensive for them to get to loot even though the base was far from finished and the externals prevented griefing/was easy to rebuild. I would suggest mentioning that with the external tc bunkers you can easily socket the floor to the wrong wall and it will have 50% stability and not function. You mention to ensure that it has below 12%, but not how easy it would be to misplace.
@@GameLightz Yeah but theres 6 guys in the team that all have to make that mistake 1 time haha, even though its designed for a trio? We have 6+ on the team and maybe 3 or 4 on regularly so we use bases like this. My feedback would be essentially that being particular for 2 extra bunkers is nice, and they were never accessed, but neither were any of the other bunkers and some of them were mostly empty so I'm taking those pixel gap locker bunkers and just making them bed rooms. Base feels a little more roomy and we don't horde items where we'll need 8 filled loot bunkers anyways. 6 is plenty. adds a lot more room for error while building and defense kits near shooting floor
Stellar absolutely stellar! Love the improvements amazing base design as always will be using this puppy next wipe for sure! Thanks for all of your hard work, great teaching style and good music ps love the retro intro nice touch 👍
Man every time you upload you change the game. You've got the brain of Tesla and the teaching ability of Bob Ross I swear. Editing to say You could add 12 electric furnaces windowed off in that door to nowhere area that's 4 large furnaces of smelting power! Also I'm off to go mess around with raising the non bedroom sections of wide gaps for even more nasty roof peeks. Maybe one day GLightz will let us leave the build server.
LOL :) Yes, you can have stuff in there, but remember it's open honeycomb, so it'll potentially lower the raid cost a bit too much for my liking. And yes, there is a lot more that can be done. Though if I'm honest, my own wipe grail is between Grail1 and Grail2. Grail2 without the china wall. Only the gatehouse bedrooms and regular compound walls, or usually no compound walls at all :) I like it all in the open.
@@GameLightz I'm sure there's some sneaky way to get a pipe through a floor there that will get around that for the most part. What a mad man something about a compound makes me feel like I've really got a home. You just keep pumping out wild bases man.
haha I love you Glightz, but I literally just built my first Grail V1 on hardcore vanilla just now, only to see two hours ago you uploaded a new and improved version 😂❤
Watching this again 5 days later and I'm still stunned by how absurd this base is. If I ever see a base and identify it as this thing, guarantee you I'm not even going to consider raiding it.
This is beautiful. I thought I was an OK builder but you are like Picasso. I'd love to show you a building technique that I've still yet to see on YT after years of it still working, just to see what kind of elegance comes from your mind that involves playing with the terrain to get it to work.
Great design and nicely explained, as always, . I believe that if you already invest so much in compound, outside turrets should be protected by fences.
I prefer them behind garage doors. Our electrician guy always sets them up connected to rust+ so we can open and close them with the phone, which makes them 10 times more lethal in the middle of an online or an offline we wake up to (given they won't get griefed)
Just finished the roof bedrooms and was done with the roof. I only had to do the china wall. Within 10 minutes of finishing the main I got raided by a Zerg full metal Ak bolt m2. They pummeled into the core and loot rooms with rockets… but they never got any of the bunkers or top pixel gap lockers… and they only took the first sheet metal pixel gap wall for the tc! While I lost all my boom comps farm and guns. The base is completely repairable and I’m in full control! Other than losing one side of the shooting floor from splash the overall stability of the base is great. The entire inside was hollowed out by the rocketeers but the base is still standing! I probably wouldn’t have lost the 2 top loot rooms if I didn’t place hqm windows when they landed on roof. I’m sure they might’ve heard that and decided to rocket that spot on the base. I should’ve yelled in the mic loudly while I placed the window 😂I’m just so amazed by the double pixel gap tc. Probably the first time I’ve been raided by a wealthy Zerg that gave up getting to tc
Jeez sounds harsh man. The philosophy of my designs is: I'll get offlined (or otherwise mauled by a zeg), but I want to be able to play the next day and still have my base. That's what I do really.
Amazing base, I used it in my last wipe and will probably be using it for a while. The only problem I had was not fast enough mobility from roof to floor, and ideas how to add mobility chutes? I tried but couldnt manage.
Putting the embrasure backwards in a triangle with windows on both sides. Makes it so you can't peak nearly as much, both embrasure stop movement to corner. Putting them backwards in other scenarios works good as you intended though. That was an issue I had with it, when trying to actually use it. So for triangles like that, I put embrasure normal.
Sure, could have been me just insta-placing everything over and over with no attention to detail. Making a video, I expect at least 30 more little errors like that.
My tip: only electricals that should be used to block twigging to the compound are siren lights and flashing lights, other ones can be easily destroyed with spear/hatchet :)
you keep improving brother, though the main part of the base is a bit claustrophobic you have lots of bedrooms good peeks and plenty of bunkers. the only suggestion make the base more traversable so 2-4 ppl could move inside it and giving it a simple open core ( couple of turrets and open space). you always make the builds ez to upkeep and think of electricity :)
We regularly live like 4 or even 5 out of it eventually in the village, but yeah, the bottom core layers are just there to absorb rockets. That's why in this version I just closed the core completely to make sure it's obvious not to mess about there after the first 2 hours of wipe :)
@@GameLightz it’s a great improvement from the first one. The first version lasted 3 weeks in an official - I bet this lasts the whole wipe. Can’t wait to try it
@@GameLightz once you go open core its hard to go back :), i did it in a big base thats hard to build and upkeep and then i got used to it so i build it in every base even though i have less offline protection. the zergs have enough to wipe my base 10 times anyways, id rather live comfortable and enjoy the base whilst its not raided.
Got Raided and I got my base back, they did not found the main TC! Half of the base was broken! Thx for this base. Also they broke ALL garage doors HHAHAh
