Gram always represents all HBCU bands well when they are chosen. They NEVER disappoint. Outside of the SWAC they are beloved because truth be told it's not the SWAC MENTALITY that prevails when it comes to being chosen. If they're living off of the past then so is every other HBCU band out there that's recognized outside of the HBCU world because after it's Grambling and FAMU that put HBCUs on the map. Don't hate, congratulate and when other bands are chosen......appreciate!!!!.

That's what I am talking about my Dad would be proud. GSU is one of the best bands. My Dad was class of 94. Tuba Section Leader. Glad to hear the tubas and Chocolate Thunder working there magic.

it was fun performing for CNN & an Honor Marching pass President Obama. I'm Proud to have been apart of this historical event with my WorldFamed the hard work paid off!!
Thank you kingofkings318 for those remarks that feel short of those fitting of a king. Typically the performance guideline prevent the Baddest Band in the land from "showing out". When I was a student at Gram.. I watched this band do things in practice that other bands only hope to achieve. And we won't even go into how they step at the step shows. Grow a little perspective..
boom fan here, but congrats to grambling. they have a history for big events such as this. how many of u all knew (including current students of gsu) that grambling performed at the very first superbowl

The Tuskegee Airmen float at 8:28 gave me chills! and to see one in the stand was awesome! I wonder what President Obama was thinking? :) Of course Tuskegee University should have marched with the float.

GSU is not chosen because they don't have "SWAC Mentatlity." If it wasn't GSU or FAMU, it would have been someone. They were the ones who happened to be recognized first. I don't know if was the right person saw them or the right person at GSU knew the right person outside GSU, but GSU just has a known name. No matter what form of entertainment you're in, usually people outside your world only know about a handful of your members.

Come on you all. If my memory serve me correct, UAPB and Southern were at the last two Democratic Presidents Inauguration Parade. SWAC bands are always good representatives to their schools and HBCU's.

I mean 2 b featured on CNN & CSPAN, 1st time eva being invited back 2 a President's 2nd inauguration parade & b leading da parade as well. Dat speaks volumes!! paul uapb was at the last one not SU gsu did bushes too! 09 dsu,.uapb,famu,howard,hampton, and a few more. But i think su was at bushes too idk but i do know they were at clinton's though.
That's the problem with "US" these days. That's why folks are not as spirited anymore and halftime shows lack house because instead of enjoying the show, folks are worried about bells, rolling bass drums, white shoes and an occasional microscopic mistake. You know the "hater" mentality.
why when gsu do something su is brung up in it? For gsu to be a non factor toward su i swear they flock to anything gsu. Just give love and worry about performing for the super bowl pre game. It's finally good news for SU band minus the hazing just continue to get good media attention.
The rest of the SWAC congrats Grambling but when it's time to put on those overalls and the rest of the uniform, it's war. You have to march at an HBCU band to understand. Congrats though. But why is the xylophone louder than the tuba section?

Not hating on GSU. It's just no one else does that. I can say UAPB was better this week. Someone from GSU will say " well UAPB wasn't in the first Super Bowl." It's arrogance. I have no problem with the recognition. I want any and all us to have it. People tell me to shutup about improving SWAC football. IF the teams are better, more people come, thus more see bands. I want to be able to go anywhere and say "my cousin in band at GSU/JSU/SU" and it be like saying my cousin travels with Jay Z
GSU people to act like some committee really sits around, looks at various band tapes, and chooses GSU. They're going to use whomever someone else used or who they've seen on TV. Being outside they band world, GSU might be only band Obama really knows about. That's not to knock GSU, but GSU people need to stop using "we get invited to stuff" excuse when they're criticized. When people criticize the BOOM, we don't say "well we got invited to Motown, Image Award, Senior Bowl or other performances.

Titania Owens and su wasn't there they were at home watching gsu. it's crazy how folks bring another band on a clip if gsu suck then why click on a gsu clip?? BTW GSU went twice and only hbcu in this parade on they lead it too . go watch 2016 bayou classic gsu far from suck
