I am booking a solo trip for Gran Canaria right now for next month. This looks amazing. How did you meet all the people in the middle of your video? Looks like fun and I'm looking forward to going to a lot of the same places.

Awesome, have fun, you will love it! I met those people all around the island, but most of them in Maspalomas and in Las Palmas. From my experience: in bars you can meet people very quickly there :-)

Hello there! That sounds great, I'm sure you will love it! I personally felt very safe on the island and also the crime rate is fairly low, so in general it's a great place to travel to alone :) Hostels are great places in case you want to meet and be surrounded by people, that may help in case you feel unsafe alone :) have a good trip!

Thank you for sharing, I will go to gran canaria in february for 3 months aswell😊🙏 my question, how did you booked your accomondations? Airbnb is just so expensive👀 and is it possible to get around with public transport or do I need a car? Thanks for your help🥰

Hi Tanja! Please excuse my late reply, as I totally overlooked your comment. I hope you had a good trip there and enjoyed it as much as I did :-) Indeed, I also saw that the accomodation prices have risen quite a lot since travel has become easier again. Since I was there during spring of 2021, there were not yet many people travelling and therefore the prices were generally lower. I mainly used Booking.com, but I always double checked on Airbnb as well. Public transport is actually quite good. You have buses that bring you to a lot of parts on the island, and they are fairly cheap. Just know that the bus schedules are not always to be trusted, as I experienced often buses coming way later, or way ahead of time than was written there. If you want to go hiking, for some parts of the island it might make sense to go by car, since buses might not get there. All the best!

Hi Elise! Was it easy to meet other solo travelers? I think I will be there in October.

Hi Rick! Indeed I found it to be quite easy, since from my experience, the people are very friendly and open there. In Las Palmas there is quite a big community of internationals and "digital nomads" (as they call themselves :-) ), so most speak English. In Maspalomas it's a bit different, since it is way more touristic. I did meet some locals there and they were extremly friendly, but most only spoke Spanish - great language training though :-) Wish you a good trip and have fun!

Haha yes back then those were the restrictions, and apparently the fees were quite high, so better follow the rules ;-)
