This place has traditionally been linked to La Fortaleza de Ansite, the place where the surrender of the Canarian aborigines took place on April 29, 1483, after which the leader Bentejuí and the faycán of Telde fell down its cliffs shouting " Attis Tirma". However, currently most archaeologists and historians doubt that this event took place in this place and point to the nearby Riscos de Amurga as the probable location of Ansite.
